Listing the decks that didn't work is such an underrated addition. It presents that work that you have done and lists the problems without discouraging others to experiment. It gives players a place to continue where you left off.
Loved hearing about both the “misses” as well as the “hits” from your brewing experience with gwenpool. Really helped give the full picture of what playing the card was like on day 1
Appreciate you including the misses. Feels like it saved me an hour of playing a bad deck and reaching your conclusion in the end. One of my favourite parts about your content is how you explain your thought process. Including the worse decks gives a lot of concrete examples to help illustrate your points
Increasingly happy I ended up hitting Makkari now. Was trying to get Gladiator that week and hit her instead and she’s seen a shockingly large amount of play for me.
@@Qayoh_Renzel it's not so much that it's more you can only make decisions based on the information you have, especially with limited resources like in snap. Saying that I'm sitting on 12k tokens after buying Arishem so I should just buy her.
Great video Jeff. I was on the fence on getting the season pass this month. I enjoy the Surfer archetype so will now press the ‘buy’ button to get Gwenpool into my surfer deck. Thanks as always 👍👏💃🏻💯
Great job as always! Since I didn't have Sasquatch, I subbed in Bishop yesterday (figuring they both benefitted from the Mysterio of it all). Bish usually gets to 8 power vs. Squatch's 10 (higher when buffed by Gwen), but has the benefit of being able to be played earlier more often and Shang proof. That said, it's worked out pretty well, and paired well with Mockingbird. Squatch probably a better option, but this is just an alternative for folks if they don't have her.
Compliments to the editor, the clips matching the talking durign review are an awesome touch. Maybe the clips in highlights could have the conclusion from past Jeff like in 0:10 or 0:21 (wait till mysterio reveals so everyone sees the victory) About the last 3 decks (very personal opinion): I like to see the decks that you enjoy and you think are fun and cohesive; Or decks that are statistically good and eventually go to your top performing at the end of a week; It is cool to see "those decks are bad because of X, Y and Z" but if it is an extra effort to talk about them, I just dont care enough about them being here or... not
Hmm, is Yellowjacket ever a replacement for Makkari (I don't have her)? Not for the Surfer decks, obviously, but it might be good enough to party in the Hit-Monkey deck at least.
This is the kind of analysis that I like to see and that I think is the healthiest for people when deciding whether or not to invest their resources in the new card. Wide variety of solidly tested decks. Interesting decks and decks with decent metrics but perhaps not ideal for Gwenpool. Again, great creative work. My eyes bleed when I see 'reviews' of Gwenpool and the decks are TOP META DECKS with Gwenpool in them for no real reason. Ravonna Good Cards with Gwen, Loki with Gwen, Arishem with Gwen. Sooooooo boring!
Well, now I know what I'll be spending my next 6000 tokens on. I may even hold off on buying my currently pinned Sebastian Shaw for next month, when Gwenpool goes into the... pool.
Dude, he said like four times in the video, she can be replaced in almost every deck with a low cost card that you can play on curve. My personal pick so far has been iceman, a little disrupt that you can play without thinking too much
Grandmaster on release was a card that had a lot of potential, but only with cards that were not yet announced. This has interesting considerations for the Snap economy. While I'm careful to criticize Snap's generous business model, releasing cards with synergies with unreleased and unannounced cards suggests that players should invest resources into a card that will only pay off after investing more resources. This is different from cards that are valuable on release day (e.g., Red Hulk, Proxima, Sersi, etc). TLDR: should the practice of releasing FOMO cards (cards that are not valuable until later cards are released) be encouraged?
I mean, I understand where you're coming from, but if they didn't release cards that had synergy with other cards, it would be a very boring game. With Grandmaster, he did come back recently in spotlight caches, and he's always available for tokens. It's up to each individual player to decide which cards they would have fun playing, and to prioritize getting those, since most people won't own every card

Holy wow, 9 decks?! Thanks for throwing this together, Jeff!
Really nice video format with the highlights at the start, loved the editing.
These are the best honest and logical reviews the community needs. Great video 🔥

Really regret not getting Makkari now
Dont be she still sucks. She's a decent pull get off of arishem effect. Now, if you missed Arishem, then yeah, that's a huge miss.
@@ToniCiprianiX007She's great in the right decks. A good card. Just not a card for every deck. Glad I pulled her instead of Asstos.
As a recent Surfer convert I'm also regretting not picking her up :/
Lol stop letting people tell you what cards to get. I have Makkari and Skipped Arishem

Another gem of a video to start the new season with! Thank you!!

Gotta love a joyful Jeff highlight.
Great video. Thanks for all the deck ideas.
I know it may be bad/stupid suggestion, but is playing Black Cat as a way of making it more likely to hit key cards have any merit?

I would use the tokens for shaw, and just buy the season pass.
I like the classic discard list and replaced Mike with Wolverine. Might be a bit better for Gwenpool procs
tfw when the only decks that you have all the cards for are the ones that didn't work 😔
Substitute for Makkari in these decks? Nearly every deck has her....
I'd recommend watching the video where I offer substitutions.

8:29 No way u said shaw can be subbed out. He was literally BUILT for this card
I'm just here for the algorithm
love the card, but with all the arishem loki decks, i cant enjoy it... all quinjets and blobs on first hand, or even topdecked after loki
I really can't understand why people think that deck is good. Most of the decks in this video easily out power a 6/15.

Ok it's time to play some Surfer!
