The fact that you gave the disclaimer at the start of the video was much appreciated, even though most of your audience is interested in HA. I just kept on watching to help you with retention.
Thanks for keeping us in mind and for all the great content!

Seriously, for the same price you can buy a fire tablet and install fully kiosk on there even with buying the pro licence of fully. Giving you a ton more AND its intergratable with HA. I see zero value in this awkward thing.

It’s more the form factor and design. But yeah totally agree. I hate this type of product release where your paying and hoping for what was promised.

That is comparing apples and pears. Tablets don't have this form factor, nor 240V power supply, nor 2 relays.....It is a totally different thing

@@oscarwenstedt2377 I gave the reason why I (me not you or anyone else) see zero value in this, what apears to me, akward thing.
You give reason why it does work for you. Great! you do you!
That doesn't change that comparing it with a wall tablet works perfect for ME. no apples and no oranges here...

I think this would be amazing for a small tiny home, it could run 2-3 indoor/outdoor lights, alarm, door triggers and maybe some RGB lights. I think this is a great product for what it is and the price.

Must say I will stay clear of such an early release product, I have been burnt to many times. For fun I still need to setup my 4 nspanels and was wondering are you still using esphome or have you moved to Tasmota.
Noticed that they are claiming HA support now, so will unbox this weekend. Fingers crossed 🤞

Hey Claire. I’m still using ESPHome on mine :)
      Been working great.
The NSPanel is claiming HA support? 😯. Im gonna guess there saying it’s with the eWeLink Add-on 😫

I wonder if you could hook it up to a PC using that micro USB port and use adb tools to sideload APK files (like the home assistant companion app) on the device.

I got your point and that's definitely easier/cheaper.
But I see some advantages with the ns panel pro.
      1. There's no battery inside so it can't swell.
      2. You can easily replace an unused wall outlet with this.
      3. No running wires or diy tinkering to get it mounted to the wall.
I agree that a tablet can be a better solution if you want to get more performance and have the time / skills to wall mount a tablet properly.

Thanks, Mark. Great video! How did you manage to get the RTSP stream from your Reolinks to work on it? I tried with mine. My rtsp link works great in VLC Media player, but the NSPanel Pro keeps telling me that it fails to view. 🤷‍♂

@@MarkWattTech Yeah, I used sub and main, but both do not work. I tried the Reolink E1 Outdoor and the E1 Zoom. Hello.
    Some news from the video?
is the panel compatible with HA? I have just canceled a ns panel order when I have seen this video.

    • @MarkWattTech
      @MarkWattTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Currently it isn’t compatible. The eWeLink add-on that Sonoff mention also isn’t supported by HA (see linked articles in description).
Should any of this change I will update the description and potentially revisit it in another video.
