I have listened to just about every version of this song since Levon Helm & The Band put out the original. And this being one of my favs from them. I will say we'll played, I don't think I have heard a better done version of a cover song.

That's very funny. You're exactly right, of course. I didn't even notice until you mentioned it. Half-past ten makes no sense whatsoever, unless he's referring to his shoe size.
