Thanks for taking the time to create the tutorial, I really appreciate it! But I have some questions. Whats the point in using Visual Code instead of standard terminal? And it also seems like it's pretty slow compared to DiffusionBee for Mac. What specs do you have? In DiffusionBee with M1 Max it takes only 15-30secs per image.

    • @joshcohen_ETH

For me Visual Studio allowed me to better navigate the desktop. You could also use finder and terminal but I always command tabbing to my other apps and sometimes have multiple finder windows open and I would lose the folder. So for me it's more for time management to use visual studio.
Does diffusionB give you the same training libraries?t l'll have to look more into them!

Good video! Thanks for all that work. I want to try invoke ai but right now Diffusion Bee is pretty intuitive for a non programmer. Adding new/custom / models is dead easy and image processing is pretty quick even on my 8GB MacBook and its M1 chip. But I would like to have more control over the parameters. Cheers from the Yukon!

Hello, can you also create faces and portrait images in AI with Invoke AI? If yes how? The installation on my Macbook M1 worked wonderfully. Thanks for that.

If you are talking about training for your face with dream booth, then that should come out in the next version. There are some links in my bio where you can do that. You might want to check out runway ML. They charge $10 but you can use your trained image for free.
I am so glad I could help! I pulled my hair out for probably three days trying to figure this out myself.
Amazing wonderful technology, but it is somehow gate kept by the developer’s right now.
Hopefully the newer versions will have an installation file or even maybe they’ll show up in the App Store.

Ignore all other install tutorials, if you have Mac use this one is the best so far and I think I saw them all up this date.
    He uses visual studio
    (if never used before )
    After installed
    - go to view (main menu)
    - click terminal
    - make sure it looks like the video (all letters black and white) and run the files from there.

Thank you for this explanation. It's clear...
I think that the developers should make the installation of this kind of system even more complicated. Even more complicated so that you feel like you are building the universe.
I don't understand the purpose of this kind of complication.

Thanks SO much for the video. Your instructions are as clear as day. Installation was going smoothly until I got hit with the following error:

After installing Python, you may need to run the following command from the Terminal in order to install the Web certificates needed to download model data from https sites. If you see lots of CERTIFICATE ERRORS during the last part of the install, this is the problem, and you can fix it with this command:
      /Applications/Python\ 3.10/Install\ Certificates.command
You may need to install the Xcode command line tools. These are a set of tools that are needed to run certain applications in a Terminal, including InvokeAI. This package is provided directly by Apple.
To install, open a terminal window and run xcode-select --install. You will get a macOS system popup guiding you through the install. If you already have them installed, you will instead see some output in the Terminal advising you that the tools are already installed.
More information can be found here: www.freecodecamp.org/news/install-xcode-command-line-tools/

Try to copy and paste that into chat.openai.com/chat and see what suggestions it gives you. You might need to install conda first. To install conda, you will first need to download and install the Anaconda distribution, which includes conda. You can do this by following the instructions on the Anaconda website: www.anaconda.com/products/individual#Downloads
Let me know if this help!
