  • A First15 original worship song, written by Craig and Rachel Denison.
Waste - "use or expend carelessly, extravagantly."
In Mark 14, after seeing a woman break open an expensive flask of alabaster over Jesus, a disciple exclaimed, "Why this waste." May we waste our lives at the feet of Jesus, worshipping him with all we are and all we have.

-Recorded live at Dallas Baptist University
-Engineered and mixed by Blake Hoffman

How about spent at His feet, which is time well spent, not remotely wasted!!

Thanks so much for your comment - we absolutely agree that time spent at the feet of Jesus is never wasted! Check out our song story on our website for the reasoning behind the choice to use the phrase "waste my life": www.first15.org/04/11/music-video-waste-my-life/

Life at the feet of Jesus is by no means wasted. Life at the feet of Jesus is life well lived 🙌🙏❤️🙌 Beautiful effort.

Hi there Lady G! This song was written out of the Mark 14 passage. After seeing a woman break open an expensive flask of alabaster over Jesus, a disciple exclaimed, "Why this waste?" May we waste our lives at the feet of Jesus, worshipping him with all we are and all we have. Jesus applauds her act of worship and says it will go down in history. Waste means: "use or expend carelessly, extravagantly." We hope to extravagantly expend all our days at his feet in worship. God bless!

I Love you all and love the devotional! I have to admit though regardless of your reasoning I have to turn the song off and move on.... The word waste just does not fit no matter how you spin it. I was wasting my life before I met Jesus, now I am investing in eternity🙏❤️💯‼️

Ok, so I love this song! Theologically struggling with “I gladly waste my life at your feet, is the only thing you’ve ever wanted”
Does anyone have some insight? Perhaps I am just missing it.
Cuz I do love this song!

Hi Bryce, thanks so much for your comment! When we released this song last year, Craig wrote a blog to share a little bit about his and Rachel's inspiration in the writing of the song and where the phrase "waste my life" came from. If you're interested in reading it, you can find it here: www.first15.org/04/11/music-video-waste-my-life/. Hopefully that's helpful, but if you have any questions please let us know!
