The parent who would get angry if anyone ate or cooked with gsrlic then would happily eat gsrlic bread and insist (by insist i mean yell at you) that eating garlic bread was not the same as eating garlic.
When I was about 6 I'd gotten interested in growing vegetables in our back garden. I'd wanted to grow carrots but the rockey Welsh soil of our garden wasn't really suitable for them. Reading my dad's old gardening manual one day (it had pictures to help show what plants were meant to look like) I saw something about ball carrots. The are small sweet carrots that grow in a similar shape to radishes and can grow in shallow rocky soil. I asked my dad if I could grow some of those in our garden. My dad aggreed and got me seeds for them. After beign facinated with these for most of the summer and taking care of them after school I dug them up when they were due and my mother got mad at me for picking them too soon as they weren't fully grown (in her mind). To this day I have no idea how despite me being obsessed with these things for an entire season she managed to not understand they were MEANT to be that shape, (in her mind apparently carrots blow up like long balloons) and flat out denied that ball carrots existed. I was in tears by the time my dad came home from work and cleared everything up. I don't recall my morther ever saying sorry to me and I lost all interest in growing my own plants. Though I'd help dad when he gardened.
At a certain point a lot of children will realize the adults in their lives aren't that bright but are in command because of their age and the world becomes a scary place
I feel like some of these would just be dumb jokes that i would make like "its not water its melted ice" or "you dont actually believe they existed, do you?"
My mum dismissed the fact that 10 years ago I got bed bugs, because I’m stupid, can differentiate, do research and can’t actually SEE THEM!!! She did not even ask me about it again - most stressful period of my life! Thank goodness for my bf at the time, only he gave the much needed support! My dad is watching History channel again! - First he told me that the pyramids were built by aliens, and just yesterday told me that Tutankhamen’s tomb was painted with electric light! I guess them stupid Egyptians couldn’t have figured shit out back then, because they stupid! He backs it up with the fact that scientists are in the shows, and he read some evidence that shows only the conspiracy theory! I give up!!! He also could not understand why people couldn’t do “simple” maths? Just because he could! I had to explain to him, dyscalculia, brain chemistry, having bad teachers, etc. He was an electrical engineer BitD, so I guess his brain cells fizzled out after retirement!
Not my parents but my brother. Back when our troops were finally getting out of Afghanistan we were discussing possible outcomes for Afghanistan's future and at one point I brought up what happened to Yugoslavia after Josip Tito died and he thought I was referencing Borat 🙄
My mother's stupidity isn't really her own fault as she has literal brain damage from a car wreck. My father, on the other hand, is a bigot who takes pride in his smooth brain.
I’m guessing they’re MAGA supporters and that’s really triggered you as you’re one of the gen z liberals who thinks they know everything about everything
I'll never understand people that buy fancy cars of expensive brands for looks instead of more logical reasons like more passenger space or brand specific features cars of other brands or models don't have. Like for example my adoptive aunt used to have pickup trucks and hatchback SUV's but downgraded in size to a normal car because she wanted a trunk with more space. Which was perfect when my adoptive dad (her brother) passed away in 2021 because her Impreza had just enough space to pack all the things I packed that didn't need to be shipped, us, her at the time two dogs (who occupied the back seats) and my goldendoodle who I carried on my lap the whole way since he wasn't very large or heavy at the time
for those hospital stories, My cousin had hurt his achilies tendon once when he was still in school. He got a doctors note saying that he wasn't to do any sport's or physical activities in school whilst he was healing but his P.E teacher didn't care and made him run laps around the track anyway
I was a bit of a bridezilla... not horribly, just a bit. Myself and my fiance (now husband) both worked full-time so planning the wedding was hard. We and our families also didn't have much money to just throw away on one big party day so everything from the decorations to the food we had to mostly make ourselves. It was a nightmare right up until the big day itself. To say it was stressful before would be an understatement. The pressure to plan and conform in so many ways made me into a person I'm not proud of looking back. That being said the wedding itself and the reception was everything we'd ever hoped for, with friends and family surrounding us. We're going on 13 years of marriage now and happily looking forward to many more. Thank God my saint of a hubby stuck with me through that craziness.❤
My parents saved nothing for retirement, never insured their house (it burned down). My mother is literally incapable of completing any task what so ever. She’s constantly try to hustle to make money and absolutely fails. They are completely short sighted. I was told a few years back how stupid I was for investing my money in stocks and crypto. The list goes on.
She managed to give birth to you. The way you talk about her is shameful except shaming her failures praise her successes no matter how small they are You ever stop to think that she has adhd is on the spectrum or just can't multifunction well Insurance can very expensive for homes
@ Insurance isn’t very expensive for homes, I know because I pay for it. As to whether she has some sort of dysfunction, yes, I believe she does. The vast majority of people do, myself included. Yet I still took the initiative to seek treatment and move forward. I don’t care if she’s my mother, there are no sacred cows here. I was raised in abject squalor, well below the poverty line. Not because of economic factors or real hardship. It was due to willful ignorance and shortsightedness.
30 years, Bullet points: They are, - extremely well educated - far better living and social standards to my peers. - too much respect in society - quite modern. My life, Quite fucked up after school, coz they suggest something, my mind tells me they are wrong, but as a good child whose parents are his heros does what he is told half heartedly, fails miserably. Falls into despair, alcohol...... Oh, Tons of alcohol... Never lost hope, and well had a sense of superiority... Quit alcohol at age 30. Started doing things as i felt was right. Started succeeding. Realised parents were quite outdated and well quite moronic. Moral: degrees and status doesnt bring wisdom, even fools have children and grow old. Listen to yourself, be true to yourself.
my mom is the smart parent, my dad was not and when i tried to explane certain things i learned to him he would be sure and pigs fly to. I do have to explane certain pop culture things to my mom the look she gave me when i told her i whent down the rabbit hole searching for something on the internets was so funny, once she knew what i ment she thought it was a fun tearm to add to her knowlage.
As i got older i realized my parents are super smart.. they just are dumb in certain things... But who literally isnt either??? I feel like every generation has their strengths and weaknesses. As i got older i realized alot of people are hard in their parents and act like they are above them. Yes parents do dumb things and I'm not excusing it.
Priapism is not something nasty it's just the technical term for an erection that refuse to go down. further down comes the nasty Let it (pardon the pun) stand and the blood will clot in the member needing a blood letting. if not treated the tissues will necrose.
7:00 yeah, this is the typical boomer mindset. “I know better than you about everything! Except this thing that didn’t exist before I was 60…but hey! You know how to check your email and use a search engine. What else is there to know? You’re now and IT god!”
Gave my mom and dad money they wasted it. Gave them money again and they wasted it. I am a millionaire pretending to be an imbecile. I started hanging out with rich people and realized how to make money doing nothing. I like buying homes where murders happened or any weird history….

My parents were not dumb. But we did find my mothers naivety about teenage slang entertaining.
Lol same. I'm a GEN Z but my mom had me young. It's fun telling her the food is "bussing"😂😂

Sadly, many of us don't know how to manage our $, qnd everyone takes advantage of that.
