Chibi, one thing about the positions. Just because a character is popular in japan, the same isn't applicable for other countries. Sasuke from Naruto is a very good example of this, in Japan he was always ranked high, where i live, anime fans just refer to him as "the traitor", he is really hated. So yeah, it depends a lot on country and culture.
bakugo was my favorite from day one which is kinda horrible because he had no redeeming qualities in the beginning of the series other than a cool quirk and that he was a serious ashole im a shitty person man.
Lol, don't worry, he's caught my interest since the beginning too. Maybe it's because he's such a unique type of character that I haven't seen in any shows before. Also, I have a habit of falling in love with complex characters so... xD
Well, I mean, I'm a manga reader and I'm not a huge fan of Bakugo either. He's an interesting character to be sure, but he doesn't make top 5 or possibly even top 10 in my favorite characters. He's just meh to me

I know a lot of guys who hate Vegeta's character to death and his the most iconic Rival Character in Anime history. Everyone has different opinions dude and that's coming from a *hard core Bakugou fan* who was rooting for *_Bakugou_* during his match with Todiroki while everyone else expected the fight to last 10 seconds in Todo's favor
I've been reading the manga as well and I can't stand Bakugo. In fact only him and Tomura Shigaraki are the only two people in the whole series that I do not like.

It's so hard to create a list of your favourite characters if you enjoy most of the characters equally. The thing I can be certain about is that Bakugou is my favourite, Deku and Todoroki are 2nd, and Kirishima 3rd

I definitely wish Bakugo was higher though, at least top 5. :( My favorite character is Todoroki, but I'm so glad to see Deku got #1 for this one because, like you said, it's usually Bakugo who beats his place in other popularity polls but Deku deserves this win. :) Momo is best girl for me but Ochaco comes close! My top 10 (in no particular order because thats just too freakin' hard) Kirishima, Jirou (she's best girl for me, such an underrated character), Bakugou (if I would go in order he'd definitely be #1), Todoroki, Toga, Shigeraki, Deku, Kaminari, All Might, Aizawa
My top 10 is probably a little weird - I have Deku at 1 (best MC), Shigaraki Tomura at 2 (I love the trope of evolving villains; seeing Shigaraki grow as a character and a threat is going to make the final clash even sweeter. Plus there is a certain scene at the end of a recent manga arc that made him BAD-ASS!). All-Might is number 3, Todoroki is 4, and Tsu is 5 (I think Ochako is best-girl FOR DEKU, but I love Tsu as a character more - even with limited screentime). 6 is Kaminari, and 7 is Bakugou (yes, that low - love his growth, but I find his powers weirdly boring). 8 is OChako, 9 is Yaoyarozu Momo (I really felt her pain in the season 2 character arc). And my number 10? Himiko Toga. An honorable mention goes to a villain who will debut in Season 3 and I will not name, but let's just say I love stage magic and showmanship, and to Mt. Lady, for her continual presence and a certain scene in the manga later on.
Ultra Instinct 17 if he was the true best boy of the series he would be the protagonist but he is not, I don't remember midoriya doing something wrong or against the law to even intimitste someone or trigger them.
This is my top 10 list for s2 and why. #10 - Mineta (cuz of his fight against midnight) #9 - Shinsou (cuz of his quirk and his back story) #8 - Stain (his ideology and his design) #7 - Shigaraki (cuz of his character development and by stealing stains ideology) #6 - Tokoyami (badass quirk and his spotlight at sports festival) #5 - Ochako (her reason to become a hero and her fight against bakugou) #4 - Iida (his character development and his fight against Stain.) #3 - Bakugou (His character development. His fights and his attitude"for not letting his guard down against Ochako and also his reasons to become the number one on everything" and i think i should put him as number 1 but im saving it for season 3) #2 - Todoroki (his fights and story) #1 - OFC! ITS Midoriya (Hes the MC! he has alot of character development! Specially on his quirk!) Sorry my english is bad.
Yeah, it's clearly anime only. Glad to see my girl Mina get some recognition, though. She deserves more love. And I'm worried about a certain scene later on in Season 3 that the fujos will jump on, which will probably put Bakugo back at number 1. I'm also worried that scene will overshadow everything else.

Brandon Adrien I love how you can actively enjoy the actions of almost every core cast member. However the second I heard about how horikoshi was inspired by Naruto I've had this fear in the back of my mind that one day everyone else will become irrelevant compared to Deku in the end. Kinda like what happened with the Humans of DBZ( I respect DBS for attempting to fix that) and how Rock Lee was basically forgotten after the *first major* time skip. Horikoshi has managed to maintain my confidence up till now though thanks to his execution of kirishima, Todoroki, tokoyami,Ida,Kaminari,Jiro,Momo,Bakugou(even tho Todo will eventually pass him by miles), and now Ochaco. Just hopes he keeps it up
Character development( I'll call it progression)=/= not an automatic reason to be top 5 or top 3 etc. A character can have my respect, but there are other characters who dont even need growth because they are so well written and their impact as well as PERSONALITY on other characters speaks more.
This kind of things always take my enjoyment out of the series. I dont see the point in thsese polls at all or something to discuss about it, if anything is one of the things that makes the fanbase cancerous.

Yeah, it's clearly anime only. Glad to see my girl Mina get some recognition, though. She deserves more love. And I'm worried about a certain scene later on in Season 3 that the fujos will jump on, which will probably put Bakugo back at number 1. I'm also worried that scene will overshadow everything else.

I love how you can actively enjoy the actions of almost every core cast member.
However the second I heard about how horikoshi was inspired by Naruto I've had this fear in the back of my mind that one day everyone else will become irrelevant compared to Deku in the end. Kinda like what happened with the Humans of DBZ( I respect DBS for attempting to fix that) and how Rock Lee was basically forgotten after the *first major* time skip.
Horikoshi has managed to maintain my confidence up till now though thanks to his execution of kirishima, Todoroki, tokoyami,Ida,Kaminari,Jiro,Momo,Bakugou(even tho Todo will eventually pass him by miles), and now Ochaco. Just hopes he keeps it up
Character development( I'll call it progression)=/= not an automatic reason to be top 5 or top 3 etc. A character can have my respect, but there are other characters who dont even need growth because they are so well written and their impact as well as PERSONALITY on other characters speaks more.
