Was expecting it to be an easier win but hats off to Rocky Lombardi and Northern Illinois i thought y’all had us.
They did have you. Referee malfeasance handed Coastal that game, and it took the MAC Commissioner going public with the miscues before there was any acknowledgement, an act of cowards. As far as I'm concerned there should be an asterisk in the record book.

Such an amazing game. Possibly the best bowl game of the year when it's all said and done. Love both teams and I'm interested to see how many players from these schools get drafted to nfl. Definitely Likely from CC will. An amazing tight end. Love watching him play
Yeah, Isaiah Likely and hopefully Braydon Bennett get drafted. Bennett will be either a receiver, running back, or all-purpose guy in whatever pro league he plays in (NFL, CFL, or USFL).

Coastal has a VERY WEAK Sun Belt schedule. The gamecocks had to play Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, Clemson.
The only real competition Coastal has this year was App. State and they got beat.
Coastal would be eaten bones and all in the SEC. Cmon now.
@@bassmaster4406 not to mention they just gave up 41 to a MAC team that, by all rights, shoulda probably won this game. And it's not just the SEC, Coastal would have a tough go of it in all of the Power 5 conferences

That is a horrendous call. The clock should not have started, and they had everyone in position to have a try at the end zone. I wouldn't even celebrate a win like that. That is complete bullshit to screw a team out of a bowl win

Coastal Carolina's Braydon Bennett (#1) is NFL material. Bennett is listed as a running back but that dude is a receiver. Long legs/strides to gobble up yards, good hands, good speed, serious WR swagger, and etc. Didn't even know about Bennett before I watched this highlight video, but I'm a fan of his now.
That was a great game, NIU Secondary didn't show up for this game and Coastal Carolina took advantage of it.
Such a good game played on both sides congrats to those men!

Very confusing and brutal ending to a great game.
He caught the ball in bounds, (announcer said the clock will start on the ref's whistle) but the clock started BEFORE the ref blew the whistle.
15:59 .......the ref is not out of the way after spotting the ball and the game clock is at 0:00.
They should have easily snapped the ball on the whistle but weren't given the chance.
INSTANT CLASSIC
Poor Rocky Lombardi, old boy put together a solid game and then 14:31 happens 😞. If he comes back in 2022 for NIU, look for him to only improve his 2023 NFL Draft prolife. I like that kid.

Coastal Carolina beat byu and now they show last year was not a fluke. Yes!!!!!
Coastal Carolina needs to be taken in context. Yes they have done a great job building that program. HOWEVER, the fact that they play a very weak schedule has to be discussed. Compare their schedule to that of the Gamecocks this year and tell me they should have ever been ranked. You can’t pat yourself on the back beating Buffalo, UMASS, Troy, Ga Southern when SC had to play GA, TexasA&M, Auburn, Tennessee. Gadget plays and option runs won’t work in the SEC.
@@bassmaster4406 You also have to realize that players don't have A DAMN THING to do with who is on their schedule. You been saying the same shit about weak schedule up and down this page instead of being happy for Chanticleer players and their accomplishments these last two seasons. Blame the Coastal Carolina AD, the Sun Belt schedule makers, and such for the Chanticleers' schedules for the last two seasons.
@@bassmaster4406 it’s not really that the scheme wouldn’t work in the SEC, but the scheme with inferior talent up front wouldn’t work. If a big D1 program ran something similar with the right cast of players it could be deadly in today’s game.

That’s total BS. Official was in the middle of the offense. Clock started early. Stuff like this is why replay was invented. And yet they refuse to use it.
Refs screwed the ending, clock starts back with refs in the middle of the offense, how are they supposed to snap it?

Coastal Carolina is 10-2, and idk if CJ Marable was a senior, but if he wasn't he should've stayed, because he would've been the difference in those two losses. Marable was McCaws Ettiene to Lawrence. If he could've stayed he should've, because he'd easily be a mid rounder this season. I think Urban Meyer would still be at Jaxonville if he kept Minshew Ill and started Robinson, groomed Lawrence and Ettiene, but also drafted Marable past year and McCaw later round this year, because if Lawrence, and Ettiene didn't work out he could've got major draft capital for both Trevor, and Travis, and he could've groomed McCaw and Marable behind Minshew and Robinson, plus Likely would've been an instant contributer in this draft as would Highliegh that would've also paid dividends later
And with that, I improve to 1-1 in bowl mania

It's a trend and a fad in the 2020s for football players, so get used to it. Shit, it may go away in a few years though.
This is why lesser bowl games are worthless. They don't really care if they got it right or wrong at the end. They just end the game.....
