Whenever I put the crankcase back on and tightened the cover I couldn’t move crank the engine at all. I found a shim that I forgot and put it back in. Took it off and all looks good. Is my bearing supposed to be to be flush? It has like a lip on it outside the case.
Is there a washer spacer that goes inside the engine or outside on the clutch? I have a left over washer that’s thin and about an inch and a quarter diameter
Could you help me? My 98 club car had the pushrod pop off the rocker arm. Does it have lifters? What would cause this because it won’t tighten up and is like 1/4 inch too “short”
@@cartsmarttv Question: I have the engine taken down to just the crank, I want to rebuild it. No scoring in bores, there’s a small nick in the crank itself on one lobe. Would it be okay to build back? Does the piston rings have a minimum gap?
Do you know if about 1/8th of an inch of crank play side to side is bad? Could you email me where/ and what the shims look like that may need replacement? I just got all my engine rebuild parts in. I don’t want to build it back if I need to service the crank too…is it usually ok not to service the crank and rebuild everything else?
Should there be a little movement for the crank side to side?
@@andrebrooks7040 should be a little but not much. They make shims if it's too much to take that out.

If my pushrod popped off the valve arm due to 1 of the tappets not pushing it would that be a bad oil pump? How would I know it’s bad?
That's a tough one as we never know until we put it back together and turn it over, (No fuel or Spark) just crank over till we see the oil pumping.

There's none on the clutch side, so, not sure??
Great video!

The lifters are in the bottom. You will need to take the engine out and remove the side cover to see what's going on.

Does the nylon timing ring ever wear out and cause issues with running under load?
We've have only seen one over last 20 plus years that was broken. They're pretty tough.

If you go back with what you took out you should be fine. They mainly set them up at the factory. We've seen them with and without shims.
