Looks good and the order of ingredients was almost perfect, with the exeption of the rice. It was supposed to go in dry with the meat and get toasted up. Liquid goas after. I'm not an expert but its what I've learned.
Bubba, I was born and raised in Morgan City Louisiana. NO Cajun chef of any pedigree or skill level would combine shrimp or any seafood with chicken/sausage in a dish. The flavor of the meats and the flavor they impart to the sauce overwhelm the delicate seafood. Growing up at my house when money was tight as it always was it was chicken and okra gumbo. When my grandpa had a good trip on his shrimp boat it was crab and shrimp gumbo. To this day crab, shrimp, and oyster gumbo is my favorite followed very closely by just plain old smoked sausage gumbo.
I know for a fact that people from Louisiana combine seafood and chicken and sausage in a whole bunch of dishes including jambalaya and gumbo .. Not true at all sir !!
Rhonda Cummings: Not the part of Louisiana where I am from. Take gumbo. You might have a seafood gumbo or a shrimp and okra gumbo but you aren't going to find a chicken and shrimp gumbo. Perhaps in New Orleans...that's Creole, not Cajun, and yet I haven't seen it there either. I've been living here 61 years and I've never seen a shrimp and sausage gumbo or a shrimp and sausage jambalaya. Even in the trend I call "Nouvelle Cajun" I haven't seen the two mixed. When Cajun became nationally popular a few decades back there were some changes such as making food so spicy no one could eat it. And a lot of people who watched an episode of Justin Wilson and started calling themselves "Cajun Chefs" God only knows what they came up with. I'm willing to wager that you couldn't name the most popular Cajun dish among Cajuns. I would also wager you've never eaten or heard of one of the most popular forms of gumbo either.
@@LA_Viking Give the man a break. He cooks the food for you, shows you how to do it, and says it's good. Then you're picky because he breaks some kinda rules. There ain't no rules. It's just cooking.
Lighten up. It’s not a freaking cook-off competition for Christ sakes. If you ask 50 people for their gumbo/ jambalaya recipe, you’d get 50 different recipes.

You make it simple
Is it better with or without tomatoes
I don’t think he uses enough seasoning. 😆
Shrimp needs 3-5 minutes to cook-max
