Now just get 4 decks sleeved like this and play a game in the pool using the water as a table. The real challenge would be making sure your cards dont just float off
This answers at least one question: If Yugi hadn't been such a cheapscate and had properly Octuple-sleeved his deck, he wouldn't have had any issues at all when Weevil threw his Exodia cards into the ocean.
If you get 20,000 likes I would love to see you sleeve a couple 40 card decks and play in the pool. Seeing the cards float on the water was really cool, so make the top of the water the playmat
you could go to 9 with the eclipse sleeves cause they fit over inners and fit inside regular dragon sheilds, ive done it so i have quad sleeved don cards in one piece
i want you to take this to the prof and play it on "shuffle up & play". i also kinda wanna see how these look after being put into a vacuum chamber and the air is completely sucked out. i'm wondering, if that would shrink the thickness down significantly
He has gone mad with power! People tremble at the thought of shuffling such a monster, others cry over the thought of how expensive all those sleeves cost, and some go into mass confusion trying to figure out what would make someone do this? But there are those that see the true potential and power of an 8 sleeved card. Being able to use them as water proof utensils!
Funnily enough, the ideal way to transport an octuple sleeved deck is also the ideal way to shuffle it - loose in a backpack I don't remember what deck it was (probably a Battle of Wits deck) but someone mentioned they once saw someone shuffling a deck by just shaking up the backpack it was in, simply because the deck was too large
Fantastic video! Not only was it entertaining it was also very well done. You did a magnificent job telling the story and conveying the mood at different points. The use of music, color saturation, and your own terrific ability with narrating the story turned this into a bit of an adventure! Now let's see what happens after 20k likes are racked up.... :)
Shuffling that is easy. Split the pile into... let's say 8 even sized piles (or 10 if it's easier) Then shuffle piles 1+2 together, then split that pile and put one half aside Shuffle the remaining pile with pile 3, split that in half, put one half on top of the already put away pile. Shuffle the remaining pile with pile 4, split it in half, put one half on top of the already put aside pile. repeat until all piles have been shuffled. Now your deck is shuffled
I wonder if sleeving them opposing ways each layer would make it more proof. It should mean the water needs to spill through all the outer layer, to even attempt to slide into the second layer.
First of all Definitely Peanut m&ms Also, you should try nerds gummy clusters if you like skittles Secondly I'd like to reduce your suffering, but also in a way that I will not get any likes anyway. the project: a 4 player playmat optimized for UPF, and play with some upgraded round the table decks or any other upf decks with flake and some other people
Im content knowing that four sleeves will keep out most water even after some time. With care still taken, 3-4 layers is all you should need, and it can still be legal without cutting sleeves.
Oh hey, this was at BH Milwaukee. I was there, I definitely would have helped with this nonsense. Should have just put a call out during the event lol.
Next you need to do a mineral oil "sleeve." Just show up to the table with a shallow tray and 5 gallons of mineral oil. I don't recall any Magic rules about the phase of matter of your sleeves.
Oh BOI a sequel to the 6 sleeved Blitz deck that can survive a reentry! 7:03 At this point at layer 6 you go mayday mayday mayday. The last card still swimming in the pool to this day at the end.
To shuffle this you can make piles of cards on the board, distributing them card per pile (order can be non-linear), then put the piles back together (this one should not be on a linear order)
You can actual do this with less sleeves done it with 3 sets but i prefer 4 the Key is making sure that all air is out of them this way by the 3 sleeve you lock the air from moving inside the first 2 key to this is as your slide first sleeve into second sleeve push the air out of first sleeve before you hit the end of second sleeve giving it a vacuum but ha.
Absolutely not! It brought a smile to my face and brightened up my day. Sometimes we just need to do silly things to bring joy into peoples life. I am sure it did the same to others. Thank you!@@DMArmada
You gotta use the water surface as a playing surface You could use two inflatable adult sized floaty rings with two pool noodles either side to make a little wave barrier to keep the water stiller (will stop wind drifting the cards as much) Please Bonus points if you do battle of wits
Now just get 4 decks sleeved like this and play a game in the pool using the water as a table. The real challenge would be making sure your cards dont just float off
gives floating mana a new meaning
How to give people anxiety attacks
“Hey did I tap that mana?”
Wouldn’t that give blue players unfair mana advantage?
They all need to be blue decks! So it will fit the theme of video lots of water lol
This answers at least one question: If Yugi hadn't been such a cheapscate and had properly Octuple-sleeved his deck, he wouldn't have had any issues at all when Weevil threw his Exodia cards into the ocean.
That's next level thinking!
uh... theyd still be in the ocean tho
@@CodeProviderbut intact
Yu-Gi-Oh cards are even smaller so he could probably 10x sleeve to be extra safe.
The issue was that they couldnt find em and joey was dying. Cards in the anime dont care about weather or environment unless plot happens
I just want to see the reaction to this getting pulled out at a Tolarian Community College commander game.
10 sleeved Yugioh deck. Cmon, no balls.
Make sure u make a shuffling machine next time
I feel like someone was cleaning the pool and said "what the hell?" as they pulled an 8 sleeved card out of the filter.
I wouldn't be surprised... It would explain where a few of them ended up!
If you get 20,000 likes I would love to see you sleeve a couple 40 card decks and play in the pool. Seeing the cards float on the water was really cool, so make the top of the water the playmat
It must be done
@@DMArmada Evan and Katelyn have an underwater basketweaving set up you might borrow
MTG Finance: you're underwater on your investment but that's ok because you octo-sleeved
God I hope someone uses that in an opening to a video. That's perfection!
I love how the first deck was dq'ed for the amount of grease stains in the sleeves and in this video you convinced them to sleeve while eating 😂
Underwater shuffle up and play episode with the professor!
Someone tell him that he needs to try this ASAP!
He'll have to bring his Merfolk deck!
you could go to 9 with the eclipse sleeves cause they fit over inners and fit inside regular dragon sheilds, ive done it so i have quad sleeved don cards in one piece

I should travel the world, challenging people to try and shuffle the deck.
Funnily enough, the ideal way to transport an octuple sleeved deck is also the ideal way to shuffle it - loose in a backpack
I don't remember what deck it was (probably a Battle of Wits deck) but someone mentioned they once saw someone shuffling a deck by just shaking up the backpack it was in, simply because the deck was too large
You know I can’t believe I didn’t see this video until now, unfortunately the algorithm wasn’t about it
You never know though, the algorithm works in mysterious ways... 👀👀
Well done. 8 sleeve laminated cards next for pool side play. Round the table.
Laminating is the final boss 🤔
I recommend doing this with yugioh cards because they are significantly smaller than magic ot flesh and blood, allowing for more sleeves
Gotta plan it out accordingly. Dragon Shield has inners and outers for Yugioh size cards, but how big are the outers compared to standard size inners?
Jon’s face on those custom sleeves is really good
It's perfect 😂

Octo sleeves vs acidic liquids for 24 hours. Coca Cola, pool acid, lemon juice lol
That's a perfect test

I wonder if sleeving them opposing ways each layer would make it more proof. It should mean the water needs to spill through all the outer layer, to even attempt to slide into the second layer.
That's what we did
@@DMArmada Oh, sorry. I thought they looked all sleeved top down. Never mind me then.
@@Finsternis.. no worries!
If you’re ever on shuffle up and play for commander you have to bring an 8 sleeved deck, or at least something close.
Nice now, even Aquaman can play Magic.
I need to see this done with 10 sleeves on a yugioh deck so bad
If more people want that then I say let's do it
I believe a sleeved yugioh card fits into a standard magic sleeve so I think it’d only actually add one
dude idk if its my autism or what but i fucking LOVE sleeving cards please give me this job
It‘s a simple labyrinth seal. Very commonly used for axels where you dont want to check the seal as often
TIL it's called a labyrinth seal!
If this video somehow gets 20k likes (I highly doubt it), I will do whatever TCG project the TOP liked comment says.
Not gonna happen this time.
dunno if or when it'll get to 20k but i wanna see you play a game under water
What were all the sleeves you used? I’m personally up to sleeve 7 out of my ambitions 10. You seem to have closer sleeve gaps than I do
This guy octuple sleeving his deck whilst I traumatise my opponents with no sleeves
10 sleeve a yugioh deck for those waterproof bonfires. Also you might be able to fit up to 11 and maybe 12 on a yugioh deck.
Peanut M&Ms, no question.
0:23 ah i see, i remember i see this video last time somewhere out there
Man that is fun to watch
finally, my deck can be bulletproof!
Trick 3-4 more people into playing UPF with you then pull out an 8 sleeved Yorick, Weaver of Tales deck! Share the meme
Now THAT is a plan!
4:52 Skyrim guard NPC about to take these folks to jail.
First of all
Definitely Peanut m&ms
Also, you should try nerds gummy clusters if you like skittles

the project: a 4 player playmat optimized for UPF,

Said it last time, will say it again: Battle of wits deck, 10 sleeved. :D
I feel like you want to watch me suffer
Well you see, peanut M&Ms would unalive me. So clearly thats my choice.
Skittles, and it's not even close.
Let’s goooo MKE shoutout! Wasn’t expecting tcg history to be made in my hometown lmao
You need to use a deck like this on Shuffle Up and Play or a similar show, words cannot describe how much I would love to see that.
If for some reason I got invited again, I would in a HEARTBEAT
Try an octo-sleeved draft deck please. Sleeve break after every pick
8 sleeve a cube?
So with the charge created by the friction during sleeving, you have just created a very large and inefficient battery.
🤯🤯
Oh hey, this was at BH Milwaukee. I was there, I definitely would have helped with this nonsense. Should have just put a call out during the event lol.
Every day im shufflin
Next you need to do a mineral oil "sleeve." Just show up to the table with a shallow tray and 5 gallons of mineral oil. I don't recall any Magic rules about the phase of matter of your sleeves.

Next episode, 10 sleeved mtg 360 card cube??
At what point have we simply gone too far?
Gotta sleeve a yugioh deck now!
Skittles, without a moment’s hesitation.
I def have to go with skittles but thats just me

Would like to see you face the prof in a commander with a 8 sleeved deck actually
Time to play FaB in the hot tub like we used to play Android Netrunner
I guess there is a big market for this, but cut to size and properly clear so you can see the card.
New mission - find a way to get the 8 sleeves, but instead of raw cards, make it have slabbed cards at the core
Oh geez, that's a can of worms...
Also, can you post a tutorial on octuple sleeving
this isn't a joke, i want to attempt this some day
9, MAYBE 10 sleeves may be possible with a Yugioh deck.
Can you just continue going up? 800 sleeves now and 1600 potentially? Then you could get the top laminated and play in a Jacuzzi.
Convince the Prof to do shuffle up and play underwater!!
Even all those cards sleevss won't protect from bending them
But alas I put a dual land in my mouth n sent the photo to a collector friend
I can't help but to think that he could have just gotten a bucket full of water didn't need a whole damn pool
I mean I already pay my HOA dues so I might as well get in the pool with it
Ok, hilarious concept but weird to me when personally when I can thing, "Oh yeah, Doc's Smokehouse..... I should go there for lunch." lmao
I won’t to see a TH-cam video of an underwater commander game now

Sadly this video did not get blessed by the algorithm gods, just found it 2 months after upload
Yeah, it's partially my fault for releasing at a bad time. But it's still fun!
Lmao I didnt even think about the fact that 8 x 100 is 800 before you said it.. Thats crazy xD
Is that a Grand Archive playmat I spot? Awesome to see the game pop up in all places!!
Even though I thought it would be ok...
It still was totally dreadful to see all those cards floating in a pool.
Then don't watch the Game Grumps MTG 10 Minute Power Hour.
At that side im pretty sure you just need to use an electronic shuffler.
