I like how she calls his thoughtful actions and thoughts as emotional labor. It is sad how much he gets overlooked and taken for granted.

I thought the queen dressed like that because she’s the queen. But maintaining the style of her youth to maintain some semblance of normalcy for her mentally fragile husband make sense and is heartbreaking and bittersweet all at once. Thank you for presenting this perspective!
I started rewatching to prepare for season 3. A few observations: I feel like the grandeur of the first couple episodes starts to wane as it goes on. Also, lady whistledown makes observations that seem too mature for Penelope 🧐

I didn't like Anthony's and Kate's love story. They quarreled all the time, sometimes becoming rather vicious.
I agree!!!! He should've married the sister intended for him. I can't watch anything related to Anthony and Kate. I don't like them.
I thought I was the only one. Somehow that love/hate thing didn't really work for me. And the sister was such a cutie.
@raraavis7782 I don't have an opinion on the pairings, I just think that it was exhausting and depressing to watch them fight through all those episodes.
Yeah, but usually when a guy and a girl “hate” each other that much, it’s just built up s3xual tensions that they want to stop, but can’t. Poor Edwina was so naive. So many other people in their circle figured it out.
But Edwina did say she was concerned he didn’t look at her much. But she didn’t know for sure what to look for because she didn’t have much experience in love.
And really he and Kate had everything in common. They both were the oldest and took the responsibility of their family on their backs. They both were the type to listen to their heads instead of their hearts. Their hearts would have told them to get together a long time ago.
@nettegaines2067 Maybe. I'm just saying that I didn't find it to be very interesting or particularly enjoyable to watch two adult's nasty bickering for so long. I'm not stupid, I know the " It's just that in my book, the screenwriting could have been better.
in the book i thought it was Nigel, Daphne's former suitor, the one that she punch became marrued to one of tge Faetherington? or am i wrong?
Benedict should end up with an Eurasian Sophie like Jessie Mei Li. She’s illegitimate so probably look nothing like her stepsisters. The guy needs some some stability. The book story was interesting and could be adapted quite well for goofy druggy Ben. Just a thought. It’s tiring to see him screwing around for another season.
I know I'm an outlier for not going crazy over "Polin." I just think Penelope is much too good for some tool who was always so careless with her. Especially that "you don't count" business; how do the writers contrive to make a woman come back from something so soul crushing?
