Great video Rob..... probably your best one so far..... nice music to capture the atmosphere...... I went there in 1976 and my Mother went there in the 1930’s when it was Galashiels Academy..... long before the current one, which was opened in 1964. 😀😀

There is an old class photo from when it was the academy taken when it was still mainly the house in a newspaper in the library.

FYI: "Cylixir" and "Tom" are Bots, not real channels. Beautiful old location. I'm always amazed at what's left behind in places. This is not a bad looking building overall. Wow! All that wallpaper fallen on the stairway! Excellent explore. Well done, my friend.
Thanks, it is a really nice place with loads of history. As part of my college course we had to do a local investigation so my group chose the college, it was really fascinating. I'm pleased you liked my video and thanks for the heads up il be removing those subs 🙂

Great vlog Rob. Cannot believe that so much valuable equipment was left behind. Software etc etc . . It will be sad when someone starts looting the place . .#1
@@RobsUrbanExploring Yes I noticed the software would be old, but at some stage they were running a large server, and the rack equipment was quite valuabke I would have thought . .
I was there a decade later than you 98/99 it probably hadn't changed much between the 80s and 90s. I noticed there was quite a few changes made after I had left.
Thanks, they only took what they needed. The college merged with Heriot Watt University at their campus at the other end of town. It was a £35m expansion.
So sad to see the internal space in such a poor state. I've often thought about what could be done with that place should the opportunity arise (lottery win). Having seen its condition now though, I think any development would require basically full demolition. Which as I said, makes me sad.
Yeah it's a bit of a mess, especially the oldest part. It felt odd being in it. It was like wow I remember that but saddening at the same time. Originally it had outlined planning for flats back in 09. But surely the college should still be maintaining it seen as they still own it.
@@RobsUrbanExploring they'll just say that their budget won't cover it. They'll probably get tax relief for having it rotting away, in the same way that the Glasgow, Manchester, and London based investment companies that own the empty shop spaces in Galashiels do.

Thanks Alan, I was quite surprised too although most of the boxes are empty and the software that was left is really old.
