Life After Death Means Work After Death - Discussing Ian McDonald's Necroville

  • In his fifth novel Necroville - Terminal Café in the US - Ian McDonald returns to some of the topics he tackled in Out On Blue Six but approaches them from a different direction and in the very different context of 1994's world. I try to wrap my head around another unique and brilliant book and take way too long but maybe you'll get something out of it. So get the book, read it, tell your friends about it and then tell me how wrong my thoughts are.

I can't wait until you get to the Chaga books!! Ian McDonald is very very underappreciated, IMHO (at least here in the US where I live.) He just needs to write that next Chaga novel he promised!!!

I should reach Chaga some time next week if nothing happens and I am loooking forward to it. I don't know what it is with McDonald but outside of awards and beyond the circles of other writers he is just incredibly underappreciated and almost unknown. There are a few translations of his work that seem to have gotten some traction but the English-speaking world mostly ignores him for some reason.
