Great job. I had the same problems that y’all did so watching you resolve them really helped. Love the misters’ sense of humor and your tenacity! Great job!
Thank you both for doing this. Mine is still in the box and I was looking for some pointers that were not staged by the manufacturer. This helps a LOT!
I received mine yesterday and gave it a shot today. It really gave me a lot of trouble as it would seal or vacuum but not both. If I tried the vacuum would just keep going. I was ready to send it back until I went to QVC and read the reviews. I read all of them and they were 45 out of 60 one star bad. I did, however, find one where the person said that when you close the machine you need to be sure it latches in two places... two clicks. I tried it one more time, gently but firmly squeezing each corner by the latch between my thumb and finger until they clicked. Then I pressed vacuum/seal and it worked perfect. I won't be sending it back!
I got mine, and absolutely love it .I read all the terrible reviews and decided to take a chance.not 1 problem with machine it takes a little getting use to but I seal my Mason jars bags and I have a lot of containers I use them all the time so glad I didn't listen to all the bad reviews works fantastic with everything we even made ice pops they turned out great.i would recommend it just practice with it .
So when you put the bag with the food in to seal, make sure that your bag is flat all the way across. If it’s not & has some wrinkles it’s not able to suck the air out because it doesn’t have a good seal. I don’t have this sealer, but with my old one, I make sure my food is laying on the counter, put my bag in, and pull a little on each end to make sure it’s good & flat. Sometimes after the lid is closed I give a gentle tug on the sides of the bag. This has helped me a lot, I had same issues! 😊
I JUST GOT MY NUTRASEALER. At timestamp 7:16 with the hot dogs and the machine didn't shut off was because there are two alignment tabs on each end front of machine, the bag has to line up in between these two tabs. Your hot dog bag was too far to the left. Hope that helps. You may have discovered that already. My first bag I forgot to seal the bottom and my fruit fell out, lol.
what size bags does this unit come with? how much are the replacement bags and where to buy? i can't find it on their website. it says on the advertisement that it can work with ANY bag(s), is that true? thanks in advance
The unit comes with four rolls of bags that you cut to size. I believe the height of the bag rolls is about 10" You can get replacement bags on their website. You can reseal any bag, I.E. chips frozen veggie bags, cereal bags, etc. I haven't tried food saver bags from Walmart but they probably will work fine.
I used mine last night 10/23/2022 and I had the same problem it stopped vacuuming , it became very difficult to work with, so I gave up. I purch mine on QVC, so I still have 2 months to return it . I just might, if this continues. Your husband is too funny, you guys are great. Thanks for sharing
. . . . . . wants to thank you both for the post. I was using the sealer wrong, but after watching your video, I got it right. I LOVE the Power XL Dual Sealer. I just broke down a whole turkey and vacuum sealed most of the pieces and placed them in the freezer. Again, Many Thanks for the post. Wishing you both and your families the Happiest Thanksgiving!!!! 🦃 Enjoy!!! You both ROCK!!!!
Love this video, thank you for posting it. I love how they took the time to try different foods with it. I’m looking into getting a different vacuum sealer and was looking into this one. It definitely is bigger than what it looks like on TV and in pictures. The humor of these two had me giggling lol when she was getting aggravated with trying to get the bag to fit and seal right, sounded just like me when I got my first vacuum sealer. It’s all trial and error to figure it out. Nice job!!!
If you try to seal a bag that is wet at the opening or has food is on it, it will not seal. Wipe it off and be sure it is dry. Also, seal the bags with the rough side up. 😍
So funny (and helpful)! I was screaming at my screen "Nooooo don't do it!!" hahaha I ordered mine and haven't received it yet and have watched many videos. Yours is one of the most helpful. Thank you :)
You had same problem I had....with the vacuum part. Not only do you have to slide bags under the little ledge but to SEAL the bag you must make sure that you place bag over the IN hole on the top left side....😂 I had to call them up, because they had told me to return for a NEW ONE. But I knew it had to be me. Congratulations on getting the hang of it. I'm a CHAMP NOW. ENJOY...
I bought two. When it's so loud, my neighbors asked me if I was sanding! I have to reset the closing bar a couple of times, almost every time I use it, because It Won't Suck out the air a lot of times I got to push down on it to help the seal suck out the air. I've had three vacuum sealers before this and all three of them were better! Their reusable bags are a joke! You need a degree in seal-ology to keep the little suction cup from sucking to the surface the bag is laying on. The unit constantly thinks the air is sucked out when it's in fact just pressed against the bag or the surface and not permitting the air to be sucked out of the bag! When I received the units, the Locking tabs on the plastic vacuum containers were broke off. They're very fragile and don't expect them to last long before more breaking off! Those are just some of the things I can think of! I would literally give it less than half of a star out of 10 Stars. A (1) on a scale of 1 to 10
One of the best real reviews I've seen. Your humor and mistakes along with discovering the how to's for us laypeople was great. I give you 5 stars for this video Thank you 😊
I also had the same problem with the sealing. I found out that I wasn’t closing the lid firmly. Once I pressed down firmly to lock the lid it worked perfectly.
Thank you so much for doing this..it is getting so many bad reviews i couldnt tell if its user or device error..now i know its just not as easy as they make it look on tv! But it works!
The more you use it it gets easier i think it is user error i had a couple of problem but it was me didn't have the bag in the slot right if you don't get it right it wont do anything i almost didnt get it but i decided to give it a try and i am glad i did I absolutely love it i have made ice pops sealed jars and sealed bags. When i buy my meat i take ir out of package and measure bag seal end and then seal bag .i do nor think it is junk like has been said it just takes some getting use to .I would never write a review but i think this product is great i have been using it going on three months no problems with machine at all .
To get the hoses off when you’re done with them, you SHOULD be able to break the suction by pinching the hose near the connection. At least that’s how I disconnect the lines from the air pump on my aquarium.
you first form the pouches lengthwise first. pour your dressing into each pouch, them seal it across the top of the whole package. the infomercial shows it sealing the individual pouches with the vacuum standing up.
Thsi is the most honest awesome educational and hilarious video I have ever seen...You two are great and your hubbby is freaking awesome... I love how you showed us what to do becasue I was about to send mind back... I hope the bags are easy to buy and not too expensive
Thank you for an authentic review and convincing me not to waste my coin on this piece of junk! Not to mention how much money you’ll spend on the bags alone because of how much you actually have to use to create enough space to vacuum seal it and even so, the air still makes its way back in!!
Thanks...as you say they make it seem easy on tv. They never said that it had to go in the vacuum chamber like Foodsaver. As commented before it has the same problems...food too close to sealer prevents a seal. Would like to see to make bag portions and liquids.
I loved it, it was a real review with us humans who may or may not read instructions. Just by watching your video I know that I’ll have to spend time reading instructions. Thank you so much for sharing and both of your love for each other!
Too funny! I just bought one of these disappointments and had the exact same problems. Mine sucks the air out the bags about 1 out of 6 times. If I have fluid in the bag, the machine actually sucks out some of the juice into the machine before it seals the bag. I about threw mine against the wall trying to get it to work properly and easily as depicted on the infomercial. But watching you guys try gave me a much needed laugh. You showed me that I am not the only who fell for the fancy editing in the infomercial. I wonder how many takes it took them to get those scenes just right in order to make this lemon look so easy and dependable.
@@TheBerkeleyBeauty I was talking about something like a juicy steak done the way she did it as directed. Watch how the juice creeps up at the 5:15 mark. That juice can and does get into the machine vacuum area.
@@MichaelJones-xp8kf What I found that makes a little lemonade out of this lemon is this... If I can get it to suck out most of the air but it keeps sucking and sucking bet never stops to seal is to do this... Put a little weight with your hand on the top of the machine right in the middle. Then, as quick as you can, turn off the vacuum seal button and press the seal only button. I actually caught the guy from the infomercial doing it on this video... How to make Weekday Grab & Go Salads with the PowerXL Duo Nutrisealer with Eric Theiss I left a comment how I busted him and he removed my comment. If you watch it, start at the 13:12 mark and you will see that the machine just keeps sucking and sucking and he notices it. Watch closely what he does right at the 13:52 mark. Watch his fingers. Then, right after he does it, he smirks at the camera. Then he holds up the bag and one can easily see that there is still air in the bag. He is a just a shyster peddling his junk. For a machine that is supposed to suck, it really does! Just not in the right way that it was built for.
Having same problem when you trying seal bag with hotdogs . Also when vacuum and seal getting bag under the bar. Your did better than I did. Practice makes perfect . Wasting bag is my problem right now . Trying to get good vacuum and seal. Nice job. Thank you.
Great video, the "in time" at 9:32 with those hot dogs cracked me up, reminding me of The Exorcist movie. We use a chamber sealer at home and bought this PowerXL to use in the motorhome on trips. The lid made a crunchy sound when I closed it and part of the hinge on the left broke off. Took it back and exchanged it. Next one buzzed so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think. Took it back and got a refund. Pffft.
have food saver and pump vacuum device, noticed first timer mistakes here bit advice.. make sure the bag edge is within the trough but resting on the foam surrounding the trough, do not poke edge of bag into the trough. (flatness of the bag helps with controlling the second mistake) second mistake. finger pressing on bag in the machine and trying to close at same time... rest the bag on the machine freehand (no fingers on it). if the bag moves too much, then the bag is too small. yes i am buying this because of sealing liquid claim (make your own frozen pop sticks is the trouble I am having with food saver ).
I saw this commercial as well. Would love to know if this works with regular chips pkts, ziplocks etc. Those sealing bags can start adding up additional costs.
Bought one, played with it about a week, vacumn/seal button worked sometimes...called for help, rewarched videos and vacumn/seal button continued to work sometimes... plus, years worth of bags is impossible and when I first got it I called to order and was told they were out and didn't know when the were getting any. I returned it and got my money back. Terrific idea but vacumn area either was just not working on the unit I had.
@@carikshawn4201 I am having the same problem. Vacuum works very slowly if at all. I will be returning it ASAP. It does seal chip bags easily but way too costly for only that use
I had the same problems. It seems as if it overheats. I purchased this because I wanted to vacuum and seal most of the foods I have. Thank you for showing everyone this product.
Thank you for having the same frustrations i have, after watching you i have a better idea of what not to do now. The instructions are so vague + my buttons don’t say seal/ seal only/ seal and vacuum, I’ve have just symbols, it’s been put at the back of the cupboard as I just couldn’t get it right. So thanks for your honest, real life video.
When making little individual bags for snacks, is their an easy way to open the bag for a toddler at daycare?? So just ripping open, no scissors or anything
@@barefootnana803 sealing the bags of chips, cereal etc is what mine does best. Does not seem to take the air out. Mine takes the air out of the freezer bags and will seal, but cannot get it to do both. Think I like the food saver better though way too bulky.
GREAT VIDEO! we just bought a bunch of meat to freeze from a local grocery store who had a wonderful sale going on. My question is… Do you think it will vacuum seal a 5 pound Boston Butt pork roast that is not exactly symmetrical? I started doing my regular way of phrasing this me, which is to wrap it in saran wrap, then heavy duty aluminum wrap and decided to refrigerate it and try to get this sent overnight. But I would like to know if it will seal the roasts.
I bought one and the first time I tried to use it, it ran and ran and didn't seal. I ended up having to return it. I ordered another one. Hopefully, this one will work. I'm really excited to be able to use it. I've had a lot of freezer burnt food that went to waste.
If the bag is moist from the liquid where it seals before you vacuum, it will not seal. The seal area is “broken” Also with liquids once you put it in the vacuum chanel and close it, you have to hold it so gravity keeps the liquid from moving up.
I’m so glad you showed this. I have one and couldn’t get it to vacuum seal because I wasn’t putting it under the little ledge there, and knowing that the rough side of the bag goes down is a good thing to know. Thank you very much. I learned a lot.😂
Thanks for the video, but didn't the guy say he had to step away from the other one bc it made so much noise? lol Seems they make about the same amount of noise, I have one my son got me for Christmas a few years ago so I could keep my weed from drying out. Mine makes as much noise and not sure they can eliminate that but it's not like you're going to be standing there all day. Maybe 15 or 20 mins a week for me. Thanks again.
You have to put a very small amount of dressing and leave a lot of space ... The initial bag needs to be ONLY about 1/4 to 1/3 full..or there isnt going to be any room for the dressing to go once it starts shrinking as you start the sealer ... You can't put a half of a bottle in there...lol you'll be popping at the seams as you push the sealer down ...
Line your bag up center and give space at lease 4-4.5 inches from top. Had same issues did all the same things you both are doing lol fix is to Center bag between notches and leave 4-4.5 inches from top.
I just got my nutrasealer and mine only has two little tabs to tuck the bag in. Ii just can't get a good vacuum most of the time.. hopefully I'll get the gest of it as I use it. You're having the same problem as I have. Don't be greedy w the packaging I guess. Frustrating huh? I haven't tried liquids, afraid to do it. Last juicy thing I tried the vacuum sealer sucked the juice right out. I make jerky and I have tried to make snak bags.. I'll try your way..
So, if you make a bag that is too long (for the hotdogs), don’t just seal the far end of the bag; go ahead and scoot the hotdogs up closer to the machine and just cut away the extra once you’ve finished sealing the bag.
you don't have to have your hot dogs flat. You are using up a lot of bag that way. Just put them all in the bottom of the bag..doesn't matter if they are bunched up or two layers. You only need 3" above the top of the food.
Good video showing how the product works for real people. One suggestion though, maybe you should read the instructions and review the commercial before you start filming.
Sent mine back had problems with sealing could not open handle up it does not open wide enough not handycap friendly it's not the bag its where you put the bag in the sealer very frustrating
Why is it that there is always a problem with something new. I just started using mine and I was doing chicken quarters and the first two went fine then the bags would not pump the air out. It was sealing the bags before pumping, I guess you have to waste a lot of bag to get it to work properly.

@@boompowzap I don't drink and have not tried the wine saver with bottles. But I did find a YT video showing how to use it after I posted comment asking whether the wine saver function worked.
It clearly says pull the bag after you insert it into the aligned marks to ensure it’s no wrinkles that’s why it’s not a tight squeeze . The instructions are right there 😑my anxiety watching this was going off
I purchased the PowerXL Sealer specifically for the wine sealer. The wine sealer did not work. I called their customer service and it was the worst experience. Yes, the info adds do not demonstrate the wine sealer and it doesn't work. Don't spend the extra money to get the attachments, if they don't work you are out of money.
To big and awkward to use. I don't have a large counter top and found it to hard to use. Mine didn't stop vacuuming and didn't seal on that combo function. Also it wasn't easy to close and open. Sent mine back to QVC for a refund. I'm done with these machines, had a Cuisinart pistol sealer that stopped working after a few months.

Mine takes the air out of the freezer bags and will seal, but cannot get it to do both. Think I like the food saver better though way too bulky.
I tried it and it didn’t work very well. Cheetos were my treat of choice.
If you want to split the bag for dressing you split it before you fill it.
I got nutrichef sealer for Xmas, tried a zip lock bag and melted it
GREAT VIDEO! we just bought a bunch of meat to freeze from a local grocery store who had a wonderful sale going on.
The seal area is “broken”
Also with liquids once you put it in the vacuum chanel and close it, you have to hold it so gravity keeps the liquid from moving up.
Thank you, I'm glad you had the same problems I had using it... I'm still trying figure my way around doing things...
Thank you for your demo. It’s very helpful.
Every time mine works I'm amazed and always wonder how I did it. Haven't crested the learning curve.
I had the same problem you had with your hot dogs. I thought it was because my bag was too narrow. 🤷🏽♀️
😂 you guys were funny and I learned a lot. Now I have some courage to try mine. 😅
LOL, thanks for posting this. You have to have a good sense of humor. Just remember, the pointy metal end of the screwdriver goes down...
They sell individual cups on Amazon to throw away for condiments. Enjoyed the video review will be ordering one.
I think the hot dogs are not as dense and the machine is detecting more air that should
You are giving us a lesson learned session. Thanks
A very true-to-life review... To anyone else who bought one - Please watch a few of the TH-cam videos that explain How To work the machine!! lol
So, if you make a bag that is too long (for the hotdogs), don’t just seal the far end of the bag; go ahead and scoot the hotdogs up closer to the machine and just cut away the extra once you’ve finished sealing the bag.
I love you guys….you are so cute…love that your husband is so nice and funny….most men aren’t that nice…Thank you for video. It really helped❤
😊 thank you
you don't have to have your hot dogs flat.
You guys are so funny love your review. You showed how it really happens when your learning 👏
After i saw the infomercial, i almost purchased this; but after watching this and also reading the reviews, i decided not to. Thanks for the demo!
I just got my power xl today I know I will run into trouble with it just didn't know how much just yet thanx
I think I'm gonna send this back. It doesn't seem to vacuum and seal if the if there is any moisture in the meat. I had a hard time with bacon.
Sent mine back had problems with sealing could not open handle up it does not open wide enough not handycap friendly it's not the bag its where you put the bag in the sealer very frustrating
Great job guys and funny..
Could you please do something with liquid?
Too funny with the lettuce 🥬 bag! Thank you for sharing
Why is it that there is always a problem with something new. I just started using mine and I was doing chicken quarters and the first two went fine then the bags would not pump the air out. It was sealing the bags before pumping, I guess you have to waste a lot of bag to get it to work properly.
I love this video
Because it is absolutely real. Hopefully it works for me.
Thanks guys funny and frustrating. Getting the kinks out for me.
what size bags does this unit come with? how much are the replacement bags and where to buy? i can't find it on their website. it says on the advertisement that it can work with ANY bag(s), is that true? thanks in advance.
You have to make the bags first then cut in four/ quarters
That thing is a little too noisy. What? I said that damn thing is a bit noisy. What? I can't hear you with this thing runnin'. What?
Have you tried the wine saver function?
no we did not. do you know if it works?
@@boompowzap I don't drink and have not tried the wine saver with bottles. But I did find a YT video showing how to use it after I posted comment asking whether the wine saver function worked.
The bag Hass to be completely flat no wrinkles in it. That’s why it’s not connecting and vacuum ceiling.
I kinda figured out if you turn the unit completely around it is so much easier to use
I have one of these and I hate it! I can never get it to vacuum and seal my bags. Demonstrate the bags and seal
Great video love it just like normal folks dont want to read directions ditto did the same thing lol then said let me review a few more videos. 7/2/23
You guys are great!
I am having the same problem with mine.i am pretty sure it will end up in the landfill.
youre suppose to hold the vacuum connection to the bag on a flat surface
I can literally hear the owners manual laughing while it watches you do this demonstration...
Im stuck between this sealer because I can make snack packs vs a foodsaver
It clearly says pull the bag after you insert it into the aligned marks to ensure it’s no wrinkles that’s why it’s not a tight squeeze . The instructions are right there 😑my anxiety watching this was going off
Great video for me the hot dog bag looked like it was to short.
Thank you, very much!
It helps to read the manual.
I'm sending mines back it does not get the air out this is the second one sending back not getting any from them
I cannot get mine to suction. It will cut and seal. But will not do the suction and seal
Great demo/review!!
My Foodsaver is much easier and forgiving to use. But I do like the cutter on the PowerXL.
FoodSaver vacuum sealers work a lot better than that and you have a place to put your bags just my opinion
I love it and my husband to
Mine won't vacuum???help!
Worked good first time now third time using won’t seal
I’m having the same problem. What did you end up doing with it?
