Suzume Render | Realistic Anime Scene In Blender

Breakdown of a scene I made in Blender based on the amazing anime movie Suzume. This render is more of a realistic interpretation of the style of this resort scene, but I hope to have captured the mood and atmosphere of Suzume without necessarily using an anime cell shader for it.

The level of resemblance is really impressive - as is the way the slight haze/depth of field kind of gives it a pastelly feel that matches the original!

Amazing work ! A few suggestions tho: the identity of an anime scene comes mostly from colors and how color are used to portray lights and shadow, your overall color scheme is far from the reference. Also there should be foam on the water especially around objects. Lastly your title says realistic but exept the rocks and water shader other things looks more stylized (your sky is even simpler than the reference one), so the mix of style can feel clumsy. Anyway that's my opinion and no matter what you did a great job keep going !

Thanks for the offer! I do have a car crash render on my channel if you wanna check it out- its not great though and wouldnt say its my field of expertise.
