We turn discarded wood into the cross. Short answer is that we use many different types of wood for these crosses. Most of the time it’s some type of pine though.

Yes, they typically stain and spray a clear coat finish on the cross before tying the Barb wire on it.

What router style bit did you use??
Not sure which bit was used for this cross, the video was made years ago.

Mr. Calvert the bit is a chamfer bit with a 45 degree cut
