You can't compare Singapore currency with other 3rd world or developing country currency. Brunei currency is also on par with Singapore currency because they are oil-rich & don't want to lose out to Singapore. You guys should go to hawker centres or 7-Eleven stores where you can warm up your food.

Welcome to Singapore! You can save a lot of money if you just take public transport and eat at local food places, like the hawker centres or the food courts.
The maximum amount you will pay per trip without transfers on the public transportation network is SGD2.50. Your bike rental costs SGD33 per day, which is about 13 trips in total, or about 6 trips per person per day.
You can also get food that costs SGD5-8 per person at a hawker centre or a food court. And local coffee costs SGD1.5-2. But, of course, if you wish to live the European lifestyle in Singapore, you'll have to pay the European price. Just like, if we wish to eat some Singaporean cuisine in Europe, we will have to pay three times the price than what we would pay in Singapore. Comparable logic.
For a developed, global city, Singapore is cheap. The only things that are expensive in Singapore are accommodation, car ownership, private education, alcohol, and cigarettes. Most other things are affordable, and way cheaper than other similarly developed global cities.
SGD150 can last at least 2 days, excluding accommodation and tourist attraction fees.

Agree ser! But beyond all of this we discovered a big fault in your country that made us feel very unwelcome and we would probably never return, let alone live in a place like that 😆🥰

You guys are so adventurous to take a scooter, can be dangerous if not familiar with the roads. And you are so funny with all the dry witty jokes lol. Singapore can be cheap or expensive depending what and where you spend the money. Western lifestyle in Singapore like for expatriates is very expensive. But enjoy whatever you can.

Gas price in SG is very expensive too.
    Singapore - 1 litre = $1.8 USD
Malaysia - 1 litre = $0.47 USD. But they are rich, among the richest country the world by GDP per capita. So it's fair.
