Well, today's SUVs are nothing better in offroad than other cars: weak AWD (or only FWD), ridiculous ride height, etc... They are only heavier that makes them even worse....
This would goes great with the A-Frame Cabin. Wish they made this in sand green though; would have been a great note to the recent Creator Expert/Icons version

The minifig is the most accurate part of the set - it would be hilarious if Lego makes a G-Wagon and adds the same type of person there! The dolly shots were awesome.
I don’t agree with your complaint about the color. Lego obvious went for a Camel Trophy style look with this land rover, and not an old Safari Land rover. I actually think your Land rover moc looks great but tan doesn’t represent the camel trophy livery.
With how extremely expensive the Icons version is, I'll gladly take this one! Before this set was announced, I saw someone do a MOC of the larger sand green Icons version in the 8 stud wide Speed Champions format and it actually looked really good and reasonable that I wished we got something like that. This Creator version seems a bit pricey next to the Vespa but this was how much Speed Champions sets used to cost when they were at the 6 stud wide scale. So it's all relative and I'm still more than happy with it to get it without hesitation.
I'm shocked that this is a Creators set and not Speed Champions considering you know, they literally specialize on recreating real cars on a small scale... Look no further than their Ford Bronco released back in 2021. Also LEGO including a lady with a pineapple blouse is perfectly accurate considering 99% of trucks and SUVs nowadays are bought and driven by people that only use them to get groceries.
Speed champions nowadays are 8-wide, this defender is 6-wide. And this is a classic defender, not a new one so it really was an odd minifig outfit choice from lego. Plus, even the box artwork depicted the mountains and whatnot
Cant wait to buy this just to turn it into some zombie post apo vehicle. Big rail in front, machine gun on the roof, blades on sides...ahh thats gonna be wonderful:

Yeah, the classic Landy has nothing common in with fast rally/baja trucks. It is a legendary thing, for sure, but nothing was "speed" one.
