What a picturesque town. Looks like a Norman Rockwell display mixed with Currier and Ives. I'm so glad that there are some towns left that keep some of their orginal architecture and buildings and repurpose them into other businesses. Wonderful job Jay, be careful with the coming storm 👍✌

Nice to see a city that isn't dirty or tagged up with empty buildings and fast food on every corner. You mentioned McCrory's 5 and 10. Back when I was little there was a Woolworth's 5 and 10 as the only "department" store, a small locally owned Kroger grocery store and a locally owned pharmacy in town. Now you can go to Walmart for everything.

Beautiful little town! I love small towns like that, with a main street, and cute little shops along the way. I read on Google that Jim Thorpe never set foot in that town but yet he is buried there. Thanks so much for the video, I really enjoyed it!

What a picturesque and quaintly beautiful town 😍 it sort of looks like one of Thomas Kincaid's paintings. I can only imagine how gorgeous it looks at night since it is so very pretty in the daylight 😍
I had quite a case of gypsy feet...did a lot of moving around until I finally started to settle down and look for a more permanent place in my 30's.
I love places like this...the places with that small town feeling 🥰
Truly a wonderful experience taking this walk through town with y'all ! ❤
Thanks for a great tour of this beautiful town, y'all keep on doing what you do 🥰 😊 Blessed be and travel safe 🥰❤

I want to thank you very much for this video! It has touched my heart because you see I grew up in Jim Thorpe in the late 50s and early 60s, so you can imagine how old I am now! LOL but I've been away from it for 43 years but it is still my favorite town in the whole world! I was a little disappointed that you did not make your way up to what is now called Stone row but it was called Race Street! A big block houses all glued together.... Windows only in the front of the house and in the back of the house! Loved it! When I was 10 my parents decided to move downtown and if you noticed the big hotel on Broadway right up the street from the courthouse, we got an appointment right across the street.... A huge building called the Peter Vatis building if you look at the top of the building you can see the man's name written right at the very top! We lived on the third floor.... No elevator, lots of steps but we didn't mind because we loved the apartment..... Huge rooms and huge windows and the best part was we could hang out the window on a summer night and looked directly over at the American Hotel where many of famous stars lodged during the filming of the Molly Maguires and other documentaries! We were awestruck at them sitting on the upper porch with their champagne and there's cigarettes in cigarette holders! And believe it or not, even in 1957 downtown Broadway was hopping on the weekend nights!
People who grew up there as children we were free to explore the whole town and there are so many Secret places that you would never be able to find unless someone showed you! And they were a couple of very old castles that were almost gutted to the ground and we would play in them and pretend that we were queens and kings.... pure magical childhood!! Also oh, you should find your way to the top of Hill Street which begins very flat but ends up being the steepest hill you can imagine and the Braves kids wood sleigh ride down that Hill! Oh I could go on and on but I must apologize for such a long comment but this video took me back and I've lived in many towns since I left there but I never encountered the magic of my hometown anywhere else! Again thank you so much!

The house across from the jail you were talking about is a guest house, has a few different size room you can rent for the week or weekend. If you go up the street that runs along the side of the guest house and follow it back and up the hill there is a neat house that has a lot of art work mostly made of old glass bottles on the law. Also the Marion hose bar has some delicious food!

Really lovely town. Our country has beautiful towns and cities and country sides. But what is sad is that progress bringing in more taking out a lot of the beauty. And taking out trees and putting in more concrete .The old buildings of yesteryear that are still standing shows the beauty there was ,and our brand child gets to let them know that history was so beautiful and that their grandparents really had a lot to be proud of. I know I loved learning of what my grandmother told me about.
