Best job in Trucking is hauling fuel and tanker work. Ive hauled liquid oxyegn and nitrogen tankers too but the gasoline was the least stressful and much less BS. All gravity drop , 30 minutes to load at Fuel Terminal , 30 minutes to unload at the station. I never hauled general freight or dry van , Tankers 30+ years. Yes you can haul bulk diesel fuel under a 1203 placard

I always thought and based on looking up companies that I'd need 1 to 2 years experience before even hauling fuel. I graduated from trucking school in July of 2021, started with Gordon Food Service. That didn't last. Then switched to J Polep of National Convenience Distributors. That wasn't working for me either. Dry van deliveries using a hand truck ain't for me. So as I'm coming back to the J Polep shop, I see a fuel truck to refuel the tractors and reefers. I approached the driver and started inquiring about the job. Now, I work for the fuel company hauling diesel locally and get paid more than my last 2 cdl jobs. There are so many opportunities. Persistence in looking goes a long way.

I've been hauling fuel for 20 years. We had a guy come in off the road about 10 years ago who had been out on the road for about five years and probably weighed close to 500 lbs. I saw him in the yard about four months later one afternoon and he looked like he had dropped 200 lbs.
If you are sedentary, the act of throwing hoses, moving loading arms around, bending over to pry up fill covers and climbing in and out of the truck 30-40 times a day will burn some fat in a hurry.

Had I done that where I’m from the unleaded would vapor just fine but the DSL tank would pressure up without the vapor connected to that tank.

I’m confused are you dropping gas and diesel at the same time? In our market we drop diesel first then drop gas IE 87 or 93 to wash the hose out. Dropping diesel and gas at the same time is a big NO NO you can’t vent the tank when dropping diesel and recovering the vapor from the 87 or 93 tank cause you’ll basically be releasing vapor in the atmosphere. But grate vid none the less

So if you wash the hose out with gasoline, (which is true a true statement) how do you wash the hose out on a DSL load only?... well you can’t right. What do you do...well you cap it up correct? Well at least that’s how it works in Charlotte market. You can drop 2 flavors at the same time. Especially if the vapor return system is all connected into one system. Which most modern day stores are. But you will also find that most DSL truck stops don’t even have a vapor return system connected to the major tank drops...why is that, because DSL is the least combustible fuel there is. I explain in the video about cracking the vapor return for diesel but not necessary because the important vapors to recover is the gasoline ones. If your company requires you to drop 1 flavor at a time, well that’s there policy but it’s not law or fact.

I’m a car hauler I load and unload 9 cars! I did pneumatic tanker before and that tough manipulating air to unload a full trailer of stone and or dust but once u understood pressure and how to unload or load it is easy I’d imagine the same would be with letting gravity take over. Sometimes I’d have to unload up into a tower without plugging up the trailer that was insane lol. I like car hauling I’m thinking of switching here in FL they paying good I see for fuel haulers so idk yet 👀

Hi I am a petroleum tanker driver in the uk. We use 44.000 Ltr tanks . We would be dismissed from our position if we use a mobile on site, let alone near the offsets or manholes. Same as yourself We don't need to 7se the vapour if discharging diesel, but preferably if you have been carrying spirit in the compartment before diesel was filled, into said compartment. Also we ware full flame retardant clothing as policy in the uk. Stay safe and enjoyable video. 😉

for real? I thought it was hard in what they do, anyways, I bet the safety record tankers is superior compare to box drivers, I hardly see tankers in the ditch, but I do see a lot of boxes though, when every thing opens back up or before, I'm getting into tanker, I'm done with box, i just gotta get my hazmat or I just haul non hazmat to start with, but I think I will have to have experience to get into the milk and orange juice runs which is my goal

Hey man I just started as a tanker yanker a few weeks ago. Still in the jump seat waiting on my Hazmat to come back. What kind of gloves are you wearing? I hate the big bo bo ones my company buys me. I like better finger dexterity but I do need protection from the fuel. Those look just like what I need. What are they are where did you get them? Good video. Cheers brah.

I’m going to Prime in a week to haul Tanker
After my year is up, I’m deciding if I want to pull gas or ltl. My goal is to make the most money having the most time home.
What are differences between pay/ work-life balance of fuel tanker and ltl p&d ?
