    I love your idea to still have old Ensk for low tiers and big Ensk (which is AWESOME idea) for higher tiers

      Been waiting on this update. I also think Ensk as it is now is fine for maybe tier 1-4/5, but it’s no good for higher tiers. The bigger map can be for tiers 5-10. I mean it’s defo way too small for tiers 8-10, so the changes will be good. Another map that I want to see the planned changes to is Overlord.

      lmao, chems had this idea for ages. but it is nothing crazy, anyone with some moderate knowledge in this game would say that ensk isn't sufficient for tier 8+ needs.

      I don't really play WoT any more, mostly playing WoWs and WT among other games, but I have fond memories of playing my M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo on Ensk years ago.

    bigger maps can only be better, longer games, more flanking. If you complain about driving to long just make the SPAWN (not the cap) closer towards the middle

    I hope WG does the crashing trains or aircraft mechanic on the railway yard at new Ensk. It seems very open from ALL sides instead of from 2 sides.

    The changes on Ensk are great, finally can play light tanks on this map and not only have 2 bushes on each side that are worth a darn and everyone blind shoots. This map needed to be expanded for a long long time. The open sides are not "useless" as some say, they create an opportunity to flank. I have a feeling that those players who like this map as it is are the ones who play heavily armored tanks that can side scrape, not the ones who play faster, more stealthy, or more lightly armored tanks. So many people complain about corridor maps and then complain about open maps, no wonder why WG has such a hard time figuring out what to with maps, or that it becomes a simple excuse to do little or nothing and fail to add a steady stream of new maps.

      You stated that WG is having a hard time to figure out what to do with maps. Well, i figured out that WG put by far too much effort in creating fanatsy tanks (39 last year) i.s.o. creating new maps, recycle old maps or rebalane old maps. I want new maps (not postage stamps like Mines or Ensk)!! Again... 39 new fantasy tanks but NO NEW MAPS last year...

    I'm afraid we're going to have another Pilsen situation on big Ensk where the two sides on the heavy flank are separated further making it impossible to cross and the fighting becomes hull down cupola sniping.

    The trouble with maps like sand river, and many others, is the proliferation of gun-depression. Back in the day the north area was used a lot, but now the south is meta due to the hull down options. They don't seem to react fast enough to the effect of the changes that they make to the tank pool...

      ​@@Revener666 They were removed due to the Ukraine and Russia war. Unfortunately they have no chance to return till that ends. But even then they might never return.
      Minsk, Karkov and that one map I forget the name of. (Atleast I think it was 3 maps) . Personally I want Windstorm to return.

      We already have over 40 map variations. What we really need is fixing the terrain and buildings hitboxes missmatch with textures which is really annoying.

    I have Ensk on my ban list due to how small it is; just completely unenjoyable for anything above tier V to VI. If they open it up like this, I might have to let it back in the rotation again.
    Sand River changes look ok. Undecided until played on because never really like that area to begin with.
    Fjords, I like the changes. You're 100% right about that area holding for half the game before doing anything. Maybe this will make play changes in that area, we'll see I guess.

    North Fjords is also going to become a NO PLAY zone. Limited cover, low hills with not a lick of arty shadow and NO COVER for spotters.

    I like the bigger Enisk map, but; something that is also missing is that ALL rail centers were air targets and should have large bomb craters able allow a medium tank to be hull down. Kudos to opening up the choke point on Fjords map. You are right about the issues with the center of the map as well. Good suggestions on how to handle it.

    The Ensk map is basiclly on the same layout as the old pre HD variant of Pilsen. buildings, railway, open field with small hills and little camo cover

    Fjord changes look interesting, and could help a bit with that choke point. Sand River, I am not sure about.
    I have been saying for a while, that Ensk as it is now, is ok for low tiers, but defo too small for tiers 8-10. I do agree that they could keep small Ensk for maybe tier 1-5, then big Ensk for tier 5-10. You could have small Ensk for maybe tier 6 and 7, but I don’t like playing Ensk in high tiers.
    Only other map I really want changed is overlord. The planned changes to remove most of the beach, would be good, so hope they bring that out soon.

      Ensk is literally unplayable with lights or sniper tds, which also applies at lower tiers. if your ARL V39/SU-76s/Nashorn gets pushed, it is impossible to relocate and get into a more rearward position. ergo, Ensk is a shite map and should no be for these tiers
      mannerheim line is playable at Tier I and it’s an open map, so I really don’t get why small Ensk has any merit. like keep the spawns the same maybe relative to the city, but the borders need to expand

    1k x 1k looks awesome, personally really excited for it. Current one feels way too cramped for high tier battles, would say it works best for 1-5/6 tiers. This new one looks like it works for all tiers.

    Sand river change will only make it harder to push south spawn. So many TD's can simply snipe anyone crossing the northern part from their base

    I think the Fjords middle hill should just be mirrored. Make the light tank route for both teams go through the open on the north side of the hill. This will allow mediums and TDs in the north to fire on the scouts early, similar to Glacier, and then they can rework the usefulness of the bushes/cover on top. I think it would be better if there was less bush cover and more hard cover on top of the hill though. It's not a very useful position for lights most of the time.

    BTW, Ensk might have issues with crossing to the field now. It feels like people will see each other way more while crossing, and that will cause carnage and people not going there anymore.
    Sand River was not an issue. Or better said North was not the issue. More issues that occur on the Sand River are caused by MM. If you get Maus platoon on your team, that decides to go to the North part of the map you will lose yhe game most probably.
    Or if enemy team has IS-7/Obj.260 platoon rushing south they might punch tru the defense really fast. Issues are mostly connected with people not going to places that they are needed at.
    Fjords changes are seriously questionable to. Currently you one side that is losing more.
    I guess they are trying to prevent that but they are doing it at thd wrong place. Middle hill is the issue. That North position was never an advantage. But again it depends on the team composition and quality of the players.
    You start on the losing side. If you start in the paper tank like Leo you can't go hull down middle hill. Scout that's literary on top of your head will keep you spotted and heavies in crossing will pen you every time. Plus their mediumd will join up and you are dead in 2 minutes. So, you have to have a tank with turret armor and you need their tanks not to rush you and you need support if your team. Hiw often those stars do align? Not that often. Plus you can't still take thd top of the hill most of the times. But if you fo you might wreck their team by spotting and shooting North and the middle TD's and even heavies in the back in the south and you might even shoot arty sometimes.
    How do you fix yhat? Another safe access path to hill from the other side would be a good step. Otherwise it is extremely hard to fix this. Even that doesn't guarantee equal advantages and might flip the advantage in the opposite direction. I do not see the solution and this new map versions might ruin all of those maps even more and make bad heavy players go to wrong places even more.

    Honestly, if they actually implement the Ensk map changes, it will finally come off of my perma map block list. Can finally put one of the other horribly balanced maps on there until they get changed as well.

    Ever since you showed it over a year ago, every map you have shown since then I commented and asked "What happened to the BIG ENSK map you showed" I for one will be Happy as Hell for the New BIG ENSK map :) I can finely unblock it lol and Sure the small ensk could be left to Tier 6 or 7 and Below ! I Wish they would do something with that Damn Tiny MINES map also !! Now just waiting for those Big changes on Highway .... THANKS Video !!

    Sand River is over for me now. It was so much fun, going up there, often alone, against a third of the enemy team; I only spotted them, and then baited them back into our chokepoint above the base, keeping them proxy spotted, and campers can shoot them safely; plus I got a ton of assisted damage in turn. Now it will be just boredom, more hulldown, more gun depression, more gold spam. Nothing good.

      The upper side will become completely open and indeed only good for hull-down tanks. At least arty can counter that when there are some in the battle. Besides that, it doesn't seem to offer anything, as you will be spotted easily and farmed by camping td's.

      That's the idea of the people who make the maps changes. The heavy tanks camp in a hole out of sight for 5 minutes shooting around corners like cowboys in a Western film, then whoever is victorious peaks out and kills everyone who thought that not palying a heavy tank was a real option.

    Maybe making the middle hill on Fjords so nobody can climb it but also making more than 1 place at it's base that both teams can contest safely would work.

      There are far too many places on most maps where no one can climb. It would be far better to make most map areas accessible to tanks. Tank battles were rarely fought inside canyons.

    Idea fo Fjord would be to move the hill more into the middle, and make it bigger contested area like on Mines.
    Because right now the map is all about who has better lights to outspot enemy team.

    Every map is too small for tier 8 and up.

    what if they make the map like 2000x2000 but open up just a part of the map for each battle . that means you could get like 16 variants , based on witch parts are opened for battle.

      ​@davryyy current Pilsen has over a 2% WR differential in standard mode between spawns. I wouldn't call that one of the most balanced maps in the game considering that under 2% isnt exactly uncommon, and under 1% isnt unheard of. Though, it is also far from the most unbalanced maps in the game, with some pushing up past 4-5% differential. For encounter, it jumps up to almost 4% differential, but spreads do tend to be a tad larger for encounter mode.
      Fun is subjective, so no comment on that.
      BTW, current Ensk has less than a 1% differential in standard mode and a almost 7 in encounter.

      @@spudgamer6049 - I can tell you I have stopped playing sniping tanks and switched to SPGs because useful sniping positions are removed from the maps with every map change. If hull down heavies become the only meta tanks, anyone who is not into first person shooter kind of gaming will be soon playing only SPGs. I am fairly sure WG could see this trend already, if they only cared to look at players' choices of tanks over time.

    these 3 maps have had issues for sure. choke points are hard to break out of and ez to defend, opening things up looks to change the defensive advantage. we'll see if it helps or not. giving light armored tds someplace to actually play is a nice addition to Ensk though.

    I like these changes mostly, I think sand river is going to be a problem and make that side even more unplayable because all those camping TDs are just going to free farm you. It does not look like the cover is high enough to be able to engage in that area. Just my thoughts guess we will see when the time comes

    Any map change not involving hulldown meta and 1-3 chokepoints dominating the battlefield is good. Flanking is always good.

    I prefer large maps, no matter what tier.
    Being able to maneuver into advantageous positions to out flank the enemy seems, to me, to be a big part of the fun of a game like this. Really hard to do on small maps, and the fact WG is working on map changes is exciting. I want new maps too, for sure, but simply expanding and tweaking current maps is also welcome.
    As to "Big Ensk" I love the changes and another commentor added that with the railyard more open, having a runaway train come crashing in partway through the game would be an awesome way to change up gameplay mid-game and provide some sudden cover.

    Ensk is THEbmap I blocked for the first time it was possible, and is still blocked now years after. This change is awesome, hoping this will be balanced.

    A map size increase eases the pain of some of the other downsides of the game. I like all of the changes especially the larger Ensk map.

    idk my opionion we have a lot maps where td with good camo can camp whole game and make 6000 dmg with standing in one point

    I don't like the Sand River changes because of the TD perches on both sides becomes even stronger. I dont see a reason to play the north if the cover is more sparce. Get rid of the bush cover or lower the perches in both bases and it would be completely fine.

    I really enjoy ensk. But we are missing maps like this that open to flanking and aren't just massive fields. Wish they would make it a new map

    Not sure how the enlarged Ensk changes will change the outcomes of battles. The terrain is very open now, and the trenches are not very deep. It will be hard to cross without being spotted. The changes would be good for artillery, as they can support on a lot more places. TD will have a hard time, since the distance is good, but not a lot of bushes to work with.
    Sand River changes look very very bad. Deleting the upper flank is just stupid in my opinion. It is now a way to flank in a sneaky way and also giving a lot of cover against both arty and td. Now the upper-side of the map will be a huge open area that will be incredibly hard to cross. Good for hull-down tanks, but at least arty can counter them. TD will have an easy time farming anyone that is trying to make a push.
    Maybe in competitive games the changes might help to make a push on that side a lot quicker, but that's the only positive thing I can come up with so far.
    Fjords changes don't seem to make sense. Right now the upper side have some bushes and a rock as cover. Right now it is hard to cross, but even though in the new situation you can cross quicker, but there is still no counter to spot the usual camper spots. It doesn't affect the other team the other way around at all. You get some rocks as cover, but still will be spotted every time you move at all. Attacks from the eastern team will be coming from 1 position only and that will be very easy to counter from the usual defense spots of the west team, that can set up a cross-fire.
    EDIT: I noticed that some bushes for the western team on the field have been deleted. This will affect the game-play for sure, but not sure how much.
    The middle area could use a road up to the plateau, for the western team, like the eastern team has, to give equal opportunities.

    people seem exited about the new ensk, tbh to me it still looks like it gonna play like most corridor maps, doesnt seem like the city and open flank can interact with each other much, so yeah more options on the flanks but i fear it still gonna play - choose flank, other flank looses in less than 2 minutes while you got no option to transit there, kinda like most maps, it reminds me alot of paris with more corridors and options to play. so yeah its looks better than most maps but that aint a high bar in wot

      It looks about the same as the previous map, at least if you died in the first 30 seconds you could go back to garage and hopefully get a better map next time. That's my only reason for not blocking it, I have blocked the Pacific Island instead where you wait forever for the corridor fight to end before you can die.

      We need a rework that allows the heavy tanks to fight in a garage with all other classes out in the open without cover, where they can be quickly taken out as punishment for playing anything other than heavy tanks.

    I would like to see more variation in terrain on a lot of maps, personally. Theyre supposed to be war torn arent they, so why not add bomb craters of different sizes, disintegrating cover that counts as a small amount of mm towards armor until its shot and destroyed? War Gaming seems to miss so many opportunities to use this kind of stuff to tell a story on the map, to make it feels alive or lived it.

    Acually only reason why Ensk was on my banlist was because it was just too small, like to get spotted 3 seconds after start of battle was not enjoyable (leopard 1 player)

    New Ensl looks good, but the problem is it only looks for now. Hopefully we'll finally have some good map changes in another couple of years with this tempo...or we'll have another S*itfield and Corridor pass kind of change that made the maps even worse

    There are many, MANY more maps currently in use that are horribly inbalanced betweens spawns, for years now. WarGaming can't balance maps, can't balance teams.
    Maybe some more premium tanks will balance the maps and teams? Oh, wait ..

    I think Ensk and Province should be capped at tier 6, maybe even tier 5. But overall the changes look cool. It would be nice if wargaming added maps they are working on, to a training room of some sort for people to look at them and add comments
