    It's so true, i spent thousands on guitars and ended playing a cheap epiphone SG. Simply the best, the one i always turn to.

    For me it was the PRS SE 24. It fits me perfectly and I love playing it.

    My favorite guitar is one of my cheapest. It's not the one i can play the best on, but the tone, response and overall feeling of this guitar is just perfect for me. That makes it the most valuable item i have.

      A bullet strat with the right treatment, can be a top notch guitar. (for example) I have a 80€ guitar. I've level the frets, scalloped and set up the neck and now it plays awesome. It's my record and live guitar. And it's makes so much fun. And then i have my Gibson Les Paul studio. That i'm only playing when i'm drunk and wanna to play grunge. Which is fine, i love grunge. It also makes kinda fun...

    Great insight Claus! For me it is the sound and the looks that are most important. Recently I bought a new guitar that has both, but I barely play it because I want to master some skills on my other guitar first. The funny thing is, the looks alone gives plenty of inspiration while playing the other guitar :)

    Growing up my father was always telling me. You dont need this or that. I understand where he was coming from but he needed to realize I wanted to have fun with it. He is a good player but wasnt the best teacher. I started at 8 yrs old and he showed me all these chords. I learned them but soon I quit playing. He forgot to make it fun. I could play all these chords but didnt know what to do with them. I just wanted my guitar to sound like Black Sabbath. So about a year after I started I quit. When I was about 13 I bought a guitar magazine that had a few songs with tablature. I think it had Crazy Train in it and at that time I had the Tribute album on cassette and listened to it all of the time on my walkman. Thats when I picked up the guitar again:) It is there for me at all times in my life. Like a good dog. Great Video man. I think this is an insightful video for anyone beginning to teach guitar. Trust your own intuition. Wise words for life!

    I've craved a Gibson Les Paul Standard for a while now (unfortunately, I don't have the money for one), but after trying some at various stores I can tell you one thing. Most of them are heavy, have ridiculous neck profiles, don't sound as celestial as they are sold to sound like, just a few are really worth it. On the other hand, Epiphones just felt like home to me. They're affordable, less annoying to play, (some of them) look a lot like their Gibson counterpart, and sound great! I do hate the old headstock though (ironically, it's the one my 2014 LP Traditional has), it just has something that makes it look so annoying to me. The new Kalamazoo one is really cool though! Really underrated guitars.

    Hi, Claus!
    First off, thank you for all of the free information and motivation you put out here. I've been subscribed for about a week, and it's been a _radically_ transformative week.
    Second, I love the little bits of playing that you include in your videos, but I would also love to hear full songs/works that you may have done. Is there anywhere I can go to hear such things?

    My LTD MH-1000ET is the best guitar I've ever owned. I can't imagine playing a non-Evertune guitar anymore. My other favorite I have is a Fender Coronado II reissue. Beautiful thing.

    Schecter cr6. I had Gibson sg standard, fender hss, fender ss, Jackson dinkys, Ibanez rgs. The best was the Schecter cr6. I’ve never had a neck play so smooth before and the pickups are insanely good. Better than dimarzio or sd IMO

    I just got a dk24 pro-mod HSH and it's awesome. I also really like the AZ series from Ibanez. Superstrats with good trems that aren't floyds with a locking nut but they have locking tuners, roasted maple necks and jumbo frets.

    Don't know why, but Gibson and Epiphone necks give me pain. My fretting hand gets so sore, even with super light strings. Hurts like hell. I stick with Strats and superstrats. Never had a problem with them at all. Not even with an Ibanez wide neck. I have yet to try a Telecaster, but I'd like to. Also would like to try a PRS but I'm not sure. I do have shorter fingers than most people.

    • @demongeminix
      @demongeminix 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'm thinking the D profile necks are the culprit. Outside of Gibson and Epiphone, I'm not entirely sure who else uses them.

    Hello. Can you advise if the Sentient and Pegasus pickups would sound good with Jazz and Country picking besides Metal/Rock shredding. I like it all. Thanks.

    • @guitarmastery
      @guitarmastery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi.
      I truly do not know. We haven't tried them in that setting.
      However, they are passive, and medium hot pick ups.
      So maybe? They sound great though!
