I'm serious, imagine if this set was instead, the '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser, '83 Chevy Silverado, Kool Kombi, '67 Camaro, '70 Chevelle SS, Bone Shaker, Dodge Challenger and the Drag Bus? Those sets would sell out in minutes Imagine, if Mattel would make a 5-Pack with the same die-cast, but different tampo and/or livery. Could you imagine a 5-Pack of five different paint schemes of the McLaren F1? I know Mattel could literally come up with hundreds of different templates, just like that, so that wouldn't be an issue. Just my honest opinion.
They’ve already done the kool kombi a few times and they can’t just do highly touted premium castings because that’s subjective to the wide audience. Plus certain castings that aren’t highly desired when they come out sometimes get wildly desirable later on. Your 5 pack idea is cool tbh tho

Keep in mind, that the goal of Mattel, Johnny Lightning, M2 Machines, Auto World, Tomica, Kaido House and other die-casts companies, as well as Walmart, Target, Dollar Tree, Dollar general, Family dollar, pretty much any store that sells die-casts is to, wait for it...SELL THEM! Having certain die-casts that sit on the pegs for months on end is not only an eye sore and displeasing, but a lot of the times it stops new products from being restocked. You have no idea how many times I have been in a store, where an employee, even a manger refuse to restock the shelves/pegs until the "old," less desirable items sell. Which means the "new" stuff will just sit in the back, and will eventually become "old" stuff. I literally walked into a Walmart about nine months ago, who almost never restocked, even thought the other twelve Walmart stores restocked all the time and I was lucky enough to walk in one morning and they had three new cases, or so i thought. These cases were from three years ago, unopened and factory sealed, I ended up finding the Porsche 356A Outlaw Super Treasure Hunt(2021) and the 2020 Corvette Super Treasure Hunt(2022). Then in january of this year, i went to Dollar general and found the '94 Audi Avant RS2 Super Treasure Hunt(2022). Now, how is it that these old cases, just somehow ended up on the pegs? It's because of overstock, or boxes overlooked in the back, which was what i told by the manager at the Dollar general, when he said, "Man, we have stuff stacked up to the walls, back there and are slowly going through that stuff." Also, some OReilly, Advance Auto, AutoZone, Walgreens and CVS have a process where their system won't order more Hot Wheels until the ones on the pegs sell. So, if there are mainlines and 5-Packs that have undesirable cars, and have been sitting on the pegs for years, when wil they order new ones? Never. I literally pleaded with a Dollar Tree manger to replace all the old peg-warmers with the new stuff, previous mangers refused to stock, until the old stuff sells and she did, and she was literally able to clear out nine unopened boxes she had just sitting in the back. I said all that to say this, I'm certain you go to stores and see the same peg-warmers on the shelves, right. There is one particular Hot Wheels Premium that is is no only at all my stores, but even on other TH-cam videos as peg-warmers, sometimes 8 to 12, jut sitting there, month after month. We are in 2024, Walmart and Target's sytem will tell you "exactly" which die-cats you purchased now, on their apps, so gone are the days or idiots returning four, fiver year old Hot Wheels, getting store credit and buying the new stuff.
I am going to end with this: You are not going to go to a car dealership full of undesirable cars and trucks, EVER! You are not going to go to a popular restaurant and see items on the menu that never sell, EVER! You are not going to attend a college and/or university and take a college course that you can't get five students to attend, it just not going to happen. THIS is my dream for Hot Wheels: Set up a system, a website, where you have certain castings, like the '55 Chevy Bel Air Gassers, the McLaren F1, the '83 Chevy Silverado, but make it like a Papa Johns's app, where you chose a die-cast and are offered, lets say, 25 different paint schemes, colors, tampo, livery, interior color and tire choices, charge a bit extra for doing so, even requiring like a minimum of five different or the same die-casts! Imagine, logging onto their website, an ordering your favorite die-cast(s) in whatever color, scheme, tampo and tires you desire and have them shipped directly to YOU. That would be unique and your individuality would be off the charts! I can see myself logging in and ordering '18 Dodge Challenger SRT Demons in five different Spectra-Flame paint, with either the same or different tires. THAT would be MY dream! Plus, Mattel could get licensed by the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, MLB, UFC and more. Could you imagine a Caitlin Clark, Lebron james, Patrick Mahomes, Connor McDavid, Mike Tyson or Tom Brady tampo-template, there waiting for you to pick it for your favorite die-cast? Plus, it would take customizing off of the secondary market and bring it directly back into the industry. Then, you wouldn't need to get up at dawn each morning or stay up late trying to get hard-to-find die-cast, even though i enjoy hunting. Maybe, i should keep these ideas to myself, before some executive at Mattel, Tomica, M2 Machines, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight and Auto World steal "my" idea and make millions off of it.
