Midway Crisis of Camino de Santiago

  • Today’s the day 8th of Camino de Santiago (Camino Portugues) and I’m finally crossing the border of Spain. I’ve walked 150 KM which for some people might not be too much but it’s definitely an achievement for me! I took a day off on my 4th day of the Camino because my blisters were hurting terribly. On this day I was feeling very tired too, (as you might guess Camino de Santiago is very tiring 😂) so I stopped walking way earlier than I intended. I think it’s important to take rests and listen to your body when you’ve done a physical challenge like the Camino. Luckily, hiking/traveling solo gives you the option of doing whatever you want to do.
    Thanks all for watching!

Some weeks ago I stood at the same place. I am afraid of walking over Bridges and at this day the combination auf lookings the the Fans you are walking over and my tireness was too much. So instead of walking the left foot path I choosed walking about the middle way for cars... The driver showed different sign of believing me to be crazy or to give me the information, that there is a foot path left or right the bridge...:-D Well I managed to get over the bridge.
Same and next day I had my down days beeing to exhausted but I Feld happy now to may speak spanish. In the morning of next day I got the news, that my father in law has died so I took a taxi to Valenca, driving by bus to Porto and flew back home. Some weeks later returning and at last finishing the walk I neuer thought to be alle to. As I saw your Video over the bridge and your shyness to go over it I fehlt very connected to you and thought : Would ne great to eat a common Pizza in Tui with you! So send you wishes for wonderful travel and home times, Armin from Dortmund, Germany

Well done on reaching Spain! Some days are good days, some are bad days, and the rest are OK days. It is good that you stopped because you felt tired. Gut instinct is the truest, and the best one to follow. A had one really bad day and had to push on. At 23h00 I had had enough and just wanted a wooden bench to lay down on so that I could just stop walking. It appeared! It was in full security lighting next to a busy highway, but it was the best bench I had ever seen and a drinking fountain was next to it as a bonus! The long day turned from bad to best! Buen Caminio.

By the way, in Galicia/Galiza they speak galego apart from spanish. Bo Camiño / Bon Camiño can also be used there. I'm saying this just for information purposes haha.

Hey! I’m vegan too but unfortunately had to give up my veganism for a little bit 😢 being vegetarian is easier, Portuguese and Galicians (Spanish) are very heavy meat eaters so not so many plant-based options are available out there

Yesterday, I cycled for 3 hours and got sunburn on my forearms as I forgot to apply the sun-protector. The season is turning into Summer, and you should be well protected against the Sun and the mosquitoes. And, I've finally realized something. It is YOGA that keeps you free from injuries that people may suffer during the long-distance walking. You look tired. Don't rush but enjoy.

I'm inspired to do Camino de Santiago. I saw you hand wash your clothes. Is it normal to hang underwear on the clothes line? Or is it something the pilgrims don't do which means just pack all the underwear one needs for the journey.
