    Glad Skip Holtz is staying. Roughnecks needs to move into the XFL conference because they are a XFL team

      I still can't believe how bad they butchered that move...

      Couldn’t agree more! Move the Roughnecks to the other conference. Bring back the Breakers and another USFL team, or add a Canton team.

      @@car83_ Yes if you move the Roughnecks back to the XFL conference means you will need to bring in 2 USFL teams. Yes, Breakers for sure. Don't want Canton yet since it should be the Vipers or Wildcats. Since there is the Defenders on the East Coast bring back Generals.Stars or the Maulers. You could even bring back the Gamblers and have them play in Austin. Could play at Q2 stadium

    I love the UFL. I love Skip Holtz. I appreciate Zomb Phox UFL for posting videos like this. If they believe non-expansion is best at this time, I support that decision at this time. I simply want this league to survive and prosper.

    If we don't expand in 2026 then the expansion should happen in 2027 WITH 4 additional teams. 2 for each conference. 2028 they should be practicing in their home markets.

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I hope we see them practicing in their home markets by then. Them not being fully based in their home markets definitely has an effect on attendance. I really hope we have a 2026 expansion 🙏!

    I believe that we will get 2 expansion teams in 2026. Either Seattle Dragons or Tampa Bay Vipers for the XFL Conference and either the New Jersey Generals or New Orleans Breakers for the USFL Conference

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hope so. 2026 feels like a great year to expand as they should be able to bring back the Breakers and a Florida XFL team (Vipers or Guardians).

    • @kpowers
      @kpowers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ZombPhoxUFL Both the Vipers and Guardians did horrible in Florida. Vipers or Guardians (or even Wildcats) should move to Canton Ohio, There seems to be more interest in the Tampa Bay Bandits returning to Florida

    • @ZombPhoxUFL
      @ZombPhoxUFL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even though the attendance numbers were terrible, the Vipers did seem to have a cult following in Vegas, so maybe if the league put them in a real stadium they would get decent numbers.

    • @kpowers
      @kpowers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ZombPhoxUFL Well is there another stadium in Vegas for the Vipers to play at? Allegiant Stadium is out of the question. If Sam Boyd Stadium was still open then maybe. I just feel the Vipers and Guardians are the only teams not associated with a city anymore. Canton would be a perfect fit. I don't want to see Maulers, Stars or Generals moving there. I think with already having the DC Defenders on the East Coast the UFL needs to focus on the East Coast. You can even open up a 2nd practice hub with the Maulers, Stars, Generals, Panthers and Defenders based there

    • @car83_

      They already have Guardians up the road from Canton. Probably not a good fit. Vipers maybe. Maybe something else.

    If the league does expand AND are still using the DFW hub, Trogdor is out. It will be New Orleans and another team that's not Seattle.

    If true the league is pretty much dead because where you supported no expansion for 2025, the reality is none of these teams really inspire much support and you have to build support for the league as a whole which requires expansion as I tried to explain. Already a lot of people who went to games this past year are saying they won't be returning in 2025 which means they'll have to have new fans. If the Stallions prove to be a dominant team yet again, and you pointing out Lou will be back for 2025 pretty much says this is likely a chance that could happen, this league cannot survive. I don't see this league really building on last year as they've done nothing to build support and even to sell to new owners will require building them up a bit... plan or not, there are certain realities that have to be met. Even you said it has to be done by 2026 and it sounds to me like what I mentioned before that if they don't do it now they're not going to do it and it's just going to get old which I also said.
    Leagues have to expand into new markets to grow the league and the fan base. And with the issue of promoting the individual teams being something even you admit FOX and the current ownership ARE NOT DOING then they can't survive. Now add in venture capital and how that's dying off all across the country now because of the massive losses these corporations have been taking (which I also mentioned to you months ago before the current slash and burn with venture capital began) and it's easy to see if this league doesn't grow it's fan base, FOX and the other ownership group are going to have every reason to drop their investment since they are funding the entire cost and doing nothing really to promote the teams in individual markets.
    So, in a way you got what you wanted regarding no expansion in 2025, but beyond this everything I said is beginning to look more true across the board. A simple example... I watched the beginning of the season but by the end I had lost a lot of interest in the Stallions and watching the UFL. I watched but I also lost interest and it seems I was in the majority as many people said they lost interest. And then came the killer with the Brahma's defeating the Battlehawks where the team with the best attendance seemed ready to take it all... then pfft.
    In relation to the MLS which you pointed to because of similar strategies, MLS basically has no competition and it has fans moreso beyond the US who help build support when they are visiting the US and want to watch some soccer... the UFL, contrastingly, has plenty of competition with football fans across the US and let's get real as some Middle School Football games in Grade School had better attendance than the UFL did. So if Holz is stating this truthfully then what he's saying is to expect ZERO changes until at least 2027 or 2028 and I do not see any substantial growth and the potential for falling back.
    There are just too many negatives in what you are saying here and where you spoke of stability months ago, now you're talking about prolonging problems you've actually agreed must be addressed and fixed. Unlike you, I am seeing exactly the same response by fans for the UFL as I saw with the AAF in regard to the bravado and blind support where the only difference... the ONLY difference is that FOX isn't investing mad money like the AAF did and because the warchest is significantly smaller, they've managed to prolong the leagues existence. But there is only so much the ownership groups will take in losses.
    And if you don't get my meaning, imagine if it was Comcast/NBC that owned one of the two leagues and look at how they're now selling MSNBC and cutting expenses everywhere if it's not making money. Disney/ABC/ESPN is doing the same... FOX sold off it's movie business because it had gotten into dire straights a few years ago. If you think they'll stick with the UFL if it doesn't significantly improve this season, you're not paying attention to the economy.

      The worst part of not expanding 2026 would be how perfect of a time it is. If everything goes right, the league should be able to bring back the Breakers to New Orleans at the Shrine and then have an array of choices for either a true expansion team or bring back an XFL team. The league will have had there one true off-season (this one) to find out what works and what doesn't, which they couldn't properly do due to the late merge last year, and be able to use that knowledge for a 10-team league in 2026. I really hope they understand how important it is to add markets, as even just adding two would be huge for fans and not doing that could be what dooms the league in the long run.
      Edit: I also hate the idea that every team is going to be in the practice hub for a couple more years as that also has an impact on getting fans to care about the teams since the players aren't even in their city for most of the season and only there for game day.

      @@ZombPhoxUFL I'll be honest with you. All the signs are there that they are not aware of the changing economic realities as things have been dramatically changing since the last time I was really interested in talking about the UFL. FOX is emerging from the election ratings as the only real winner but like I said, venture capital for things like the UFL is fading everywhere. This season will be the make or break and if they do survive, they've got to fix what's wrong like finding owners. There are a lot of billionaires out there that would love to own a team and there's far more than 8 who would invest in promoting the teams. I've seen zero promotion for the Stallions or any UFL team in the off season and if what you said about Lou Holz rings true, I just don't see a future for the UFL and if others are like me, where can this league possibly go? And if the Stallions make this four in a row, I just don't see support surviving for the other teams which again, is a reason I wanted expansion for this year as it would have shown determination that the league has a future and there's a willingness to invest in that future. Merely surviving another year rarely works as a strategy.
