To learn more about Pearl diving and its history, I visited Suwaidi Pearl, the World's first Arabian pearl farm in UAE. It was a great experience witnessing a pearl from a live oyster.
Pearl diving was an essential part of the economy of the Arabian Gulf before the current oil boom. Local pearl divers took significant risks to collect oysters from the ocean floor. For hundreds of years, the finest pearls in the world were found in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.
