Macro vs Micro Macro: the overall function of the grammar Mirco: the function of this grammar in today's lesson Macro: simple present - to express routines Micro: simple present- to express my morning routines
Even after re-watching the video and re-reading chapter 6, I'm still a bit confused on the differences between the concept of "meaning" vs the concept of "use." They feel a bit too similar for me. I'll use google and youtube to find more information on the differences.
I guess i would describe meaning as the the type of stuff you would put on the back of a flash card. (i.e. Past Continuous / Specific time as interruption . . .) Where as use would be writing actual sentences using the grammar tool.
With „meaning“ we refer to the grammatical instructions of e.g. when to use the simple past. „Use“ is about the communicative situations in which we can use this knowledge, e.g. telling a story.
@@rollandpacheco1858 Oh, that clarifies things much better! 🤗👍 Thank you for expanding on that concept and thank you for the many videos! They help a lot, and I greatly appreciate them. 👍
Very good video and I absolutely prefer the focus on meaning before form. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent video. Thanks for the upload :-)
Agreed ❤
Does meaning, form and use can be also used in functional expressions
Great! I have to present a video about Form , Meaning and Use about conditions with unless.
Great video!
complex snetences or compound sentences? thanks for the video
Yes, I believe he meant to say compound instead of complex in that section.
If we want teachers to understand these crucial links, we have to present form, ONE meaning and ONE use in ONE context...
I'm still extremely confused 😵💫😵💫 I'm going to have to watch this video multiple times
IS use the same as function? or is Meaning the same as function?
