You where right about the vent booster not working as I tried it and didn't work. The issue is, it is designed to assist the "movement" of air and because of the large "gap" between the fan and wall it can't create a "draw" (i.e. vacuum).. Also went with a 1hp bounce house fan and created a parametric Open-SCAD models for adapters. This worked well, also glad to see you moved up to a larger laser too...

Yea I think the first upgrade for most is the exhaust. That larger laser opens up a whole new world of projects for me.

at 2:21 - that adapter should be modified. Do not restrict air flow. First, you need to remove that 'choke' point inside - narrow thing that come with K40. In order to do that, unscrew four screws beneath gantry. Unplug stepper motor connector and pull gantry out. Then you can remove that stupid insert which make only 1/4 of available space for air to pass. The fan provided with the machine is 7W, so anything better than that will do the job. People using fancy 'hydroponic' silent fan - supposedly quiet and pull air really good. And, buy nozzle, 3D print adapter for lens and nozzle... Okay, I am using 20mm lens (with 2 inch focal length), ZnSe with antireflective coating from Cloudray. Extra money, but works like a charm. I noticed that you need to do multiple pass to cut. What about single pass without that tar condensing on the surface?

Kool video. Where can you find that "material test card?"

Thank you. The test card is a combination of a couple different ones that are available online. www.joyoflasercutting.com/getting-started and www.thingiverse.com/thing:2243854
