I read a Facebook comment that sums up this hack nicely: How to take Charm out of a game 101. The repetitive drums played for both the normal plains and underground levels didn't help either. There's several other things I didn't like, but this hack was just overall really disappointing.

I think the hack creator accidentally muted the wrong instruments when Mario isn't on Yoshi. When Mario rides Yoshi an actual melody kicks in, rather than the melody playing normally and then drums playing when Mario rides Yoshi.

Sort of an interesting idea to play a classic with a new skin and different powerups, but I'd still just rather play the original SMW. When I read the title of this video, I actually wasn't expecting it to be a full on remake of that game. My gripe really is the repetitive music. It's just the same few beats over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Not fun to hear. I respect the effort that was put into making this ROM though.
To those asking why the bosses are the same, it's probably hard to create custom NSMBW bosses with the code in the ISO alone, We will probably need a decompilation to get custom coded bosses

I ended up finding it along with a metric ton of other custom NSMBW ISOs, and, well, I collect custom genres 🤣. If you're interested, there's a site called romspure that has it and tons of other custom modded games but you'll definitely need an ad blocker cause it's a site riddled with ads, pop-ups and invisible overlays that are a major nuisance but with the right ad blocker extensions, they're non-existent.
Things they missed up: -The... Music, please?? -Bosses are the same than NSMBW and they're actually not the good ones. -Yoshi is spelled ''Yoshy''... -The destroying castle animations are not that good, but... It can pass. Buuut I loved the world maps, tough!

Because it should be on wiiu bc of one the title and 2 it only has 3 power ups which can be replaces on U, super mushroom, fire flower, super feather(which can be acorn suit), and P Ballon (which can be the propeller mushroom). Although i understand that you cant change the world map and newer wii is the easiest
The hack has good potential, but uses a lot of things from the Newer Team, making it feel like a bad copy that only recreates World levels, I would have liked more effort on the part of the creator, I'm not saying it's bad it just needs improvements.
Good remake, nothing beats the original, the background music really sucks in this version, certain things should have been kept, but overall its decent.

Yes it was, in donut plains on the first level. The cape level. There is a secret pipe that brings you into an area just like that. But Super Mario Odyssey is a very popular game and made Nintendo enough money to fill a room. I will relate to you, the first time I played it I lost interest in it, BUT when I played it again, it grew on me and eventually became a game that I like better than even the Galaxy games which nothing topped before Odyssey's release. All I'd say is if you play Odyssey again, you may very well be pleasantly surprised about how much it grows on you.
