Brought back my childhood in a flash, listening to Panditji with my father , a huge fan of his.. live and on spools .. live recordings of his from various programs, gifted to my father by various friends and associates. Way back in the late 1940s or early 1950s, he was invited to East Africa by his fans there, where he and his first wife Bhanumati gave a number of concerts. Re-recordings of these (including at least one solo performance by Bhanutai) are available in some private collections.
I am fortunate to record Kumarji live during concerts organized by AIR in 1970 to 1982. I got familiar with the Classical music as and when I got opportunities to witness the legendary artists performing in the studios.
