    The showtime Lakers are back... as a comedy show...
    But to be honest this a great financial decision on Reddick's part. He's going the Full Monty because even if he gets canned, he gets paid for years to come. He can go back to podcasting and he's gotten his foot through the NBA Coaching door, setting him up for future opportunities either as Head or Assistant, all brought to you by the Lakers. It's a win-win for Reddick whether it succeeds or not.

    • @eliyarrows2456

      No tf it’s not??? Dude is getting $4 mill a year when it was already known that he was making far more than that through his podcasting network and media appearances, which will stop now.
      Monty got the biggest coaching contract in the league, THE LAKERS WILL BE PAYING MORE MONEY TO DARVIN HAM OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS THAN THEY WILL BE PAYING JJ, WHO IS CURRENTLY COACHING.

    • @GlizzieMcGuire
      @GlizzieMcGuire 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely not a win win for JJ, bro took the most high pressure job opening while not getting paid as much as Monty. The situations between the two of them are nowhere near comparable. Monty took over a team trying to get out of the lottery, while the Lakers have championship expectations year in year out whether its justified or not and its only amplified with Lebron James on the roster

    • @existential_
      @existential_ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GlizzieMcGuire It definitely is a high pressure job and Reddick will definitely already know this but we all know Reddick is overly confident, he's talked to talk, let's see if he can walk... actually he'll need to run for that championship lol
      But I said it's win-win because it still opens the door for him to other coaching jobs, we've seen head coaches become assistants and vice versa, it's a revolving door. He has his media company to fall back on, there will still be an audience.

    • @CrazyxEnigma
      @CrazyxEnigma 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cjvos4516I doubt Lue being coach instead of Vogel changes much. Still win in 20, LeBron and AD still get hurt not having near enough time to recover with an extremely short off season in 21, and they probably still panic and get Westbrick unless Lue being coach magically gets Lillard wanting to come here and then Lue likely gets fired the same way Vogel did in 22. Used as a scapegoat for terrible roster construction and losing the locker room.

    Here’s a fun stat:
    In the history of the nba, there’s been around a dozen head coaches who are former players hired with no previous experience (front office included, sorry Steve Kerr doesn’t count), and in that list only 2 of them were seen as good coaches, and 0 of them had any success with the team who originally hired them.
    Doc Rivers is the best case of this ever. And his coaching career started with blowing a 3-1 lead in the first round as the Magic head coach.

    What it's about is if this experiment is even slightly successful, Lebron wants to put on his resume that he took a rookie coach and his rookie son to the victory column and that only ads to his list of reasons ad to why he crowns himself the goat. That's what it's all about. Why else would a front office hire JJ when there are other more deserving, obviously more qualified and experienced coaches

    The fact JJ has been viewed as a Pat Riley potential by people in our FO screams incompetence, massive copium or both. I think JJ can be a decent coach... one day it sure as 💩 ain't going to be right away. All I'm hoping is he's better than pockets Ham which is an incredibly low bar.
    Everybody is already talking about how LeBron is the real coach and JJ is his guy and that's exactly why Pelinka hired him imo. If this goes belly up like it has with every coach since Phil Jackson retired in 2011 LeBron gets all the blame instead of Pelinka for hiring him in the first place and keeps his job.

    The Problem for The Lakers has not been Coaching. The Problem for The Lakers has been The Players. This Laker Roster lacks Versatile Players. The Lakers need to Trade Players that are Unable to Shoot and Defend, and Replace them with Wings and a Center, that can Shoot 3’s and Defend Multiple Positions. LeBron will only be able to be at his best, if He has “ Shooters “ to Space The Floor. Otherwise, LeBron is Going to Have to Do EVERYTHING, and eventually Burn-Out or Get Injured Quicker.

    • @CrazyxEnigma
      @CrazyxEnigma 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You hit the nail on the head regarding the roster issues but coaching was absolutely a problem. Ask any Lakers fan who had the displeasure of watching this team every night. Ham sucked and lost the locker room pretty early. It's pretty damning to have your star player say publicly to the press during the playoffs that they don't know what they're doing on both sides of the floor. Edit: Exact quote: "We have stretches where we don’t know what we’re doing on both ends of the floor."- Anthony Davis. If coaching wasn't at all a problem no way AD would've ever said this.

    I know it wont work. If you need more evidence of that, Rondo will likely be an assistant because he is AD's 'guy'. So, will a team with one of the worst owners, a incompetent GM who is only good at not getting fired, A zero exp. coaching staff, and aging star players with inconsistent role players in what might be the most competitive the West has ever been, do they have a shot? No.
    Likely, with Memphis/Rockets back to full strength and Wemby second season the Lakers wont even be in the playoffs next year.
