Great conversation. I agree with everything that was said.
Vegan is not a diet it is a philosophy.
You can't be a part time vegan, you are either against animal cruelty or you are not.
If you can't commit to being vegan then it's best to describe yourself as eating a Whole food plant based diet.
Whole food all plant diet is the best.
My cat eats Evolution vegan non GMO food, he is thriving on it, I highly recommend it.
I think people react the way they do to vegans because we are holding up a mirror to them and they don't like what they see so they want us to go away !
I wish someone had told me about The animal Holocaust, found out about by accident.
The human species has very little to be proud of at this point in time.
William Inge wrote "we have enslaved the rest of the Animal creation and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond a doubt if they were able to formulate a religion they would depict the devil in human form.
If you are vegan don't remain silent, let people know what is going on,let them know how the animals are suffering in the factory farms, I wish someone had told me.
No excuse for animal abuse !!

This is kind of ironic because for almost a decade he played a “vegan” vampire haha! He didn’t consume human blood because he found it unethical but, if he did consume would lose control and become a ripper (vampire that loses control due to unquenchable thirst). Paul seems like a good guy lots of different projects , writing and producing, still have yet to try their bourbon -Brothers Bond bourbon with Ian Somerhalder his screen vamp brother❤

If I were to be turned into a vampire as a vegan, I think I would still drink human blood but I won't kill for it because I don't have to. I would however, make a blood farm of those who are unworthy, like those fucking carnists, give them a taste of poetic justice...

I was always a fan, but now I am a HUGE fan. It's not easy being vegan with a majority of the population that just doesn't want to understand. I have so much respect for him being in the spotlight and wanting to influence people for the good of the animals, people, and planet. All of us vegans have that responsibility even if we can influence 1 person. Love this!

    THROUGH THEIR EYES
    by Vivian Chinelli
    September 18, 2022
I look at suffering through the animal's eyes.
It's not about me or not about you or how we feel or what we do.
It's seeing things from their point of view that keeps me being vegan.

I really enjoyed this interview. I've been vegan 5 1/2 years. Strive for Whole Food Plant Based. Aren't they the same? No, when you eat whole foods you cut out so much of the "crap" of processed food. Oreos are vegan. Fritos are vegan. Vegan cheese, Beyond meat.....my point is , eat the pure whole food and your body will thank you. I'm NOT perfect and "vegan junk food" is in my diet some days. The goal started out as not wanting to eat my fellow beings on this earth. But, I soon learned that my health is impacted as much. I eat for me and the animals.
I feel our Mother Earth isn't doomed, but we as humans are going to be made extinct. The earth is being killed but after humans are gone, the planet will regenerate its self.
Thank you for all you do towards saving every animal ( as we are) on our earth.

    • @LutherAEvans
      @LutherAEvans 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I've been vegan for about the same amount of time as you have. Listening to the plant-based doctors talk about the importance of whole plant foods and no oil and no sugar really helped me on that one because that pretty much eliminates all of the processed vegan foods. Before that, those tortilla chips were my addictive, unhealthy snack. But my taste buds have changed so much since then, that if I tried them now, I'd probably feel like I just poured salt into my mouth and have to spit it out. You get used to what you do regularly. I like it because that's the way it should be ideally, eating real food.

My family went vegan when I was 6. It was always easy for me because as a kid I didn’t like milk, eggs, hated the gross iron fiberouse texture that’s left in your mouth after chewing meat. And didnt like the smell of cheese and oils! When I was older and we started eating more vegetarian the dairy grossed me out but I would find ways to tolerate it and ways I could MAKE myself like it. Once I started going to public school and eating more school lunch I gained weight and was sick. I ate foods because my friends did. By the time I was 17 I went fully vegan and went back to a healthy weight, hormones balanced and my athletic abilities went WAY up! I allowed myself to be in touch with how disturbing I found animal consumption and OWNED it!

    THREE MEALS
    By Vivian Chinelli
    September 9, 2022
This morning he ate his pig and said, "She was a yummy meal, of course!"
For lunch, he plans to eat his dog and for dinner, he'll eat his horse.
He will say, "I need them for protein. Plus I gave them a good life," and yet, you probably disagree with Meal 2 and Meal 3, and are outraged by those choices, I bet.
But a pig is a dog, is
a horse, is a child. And we all feel joy and sadness.
So be vegan and see the connection between us. Let's work to end all this madness.

This interview is very relatable, almost therapeutic. I think want to be a large animal vet, but in order to do that I would have to use discarded animals for training, which depending on what the situation was for them I may or may not be okay with, but I’d also have to do many other things like learn how to slaughter an animal. There’s also this training cow that each student gets. I’d have to inseminate them, birth and separate the calf, take the mother’s milk, take tests on when to stop milking, how to increase milk production, when to slaughter etc, and then my cow would get auctioned off and killed or eventually get killed. There are many other things too. So many questions in my head. Is it worth it? I want to work at a farm sanctuary I don’t need to know how to slaughter an animal or farm them for their milk, but then by doing these horrid things it would allow me to help animals and sanctuaries. But then again I could be a caregiver or something. But then again i know how much the veterinarian shortage is affecting the animals. Idk idk idk. It keeps me up at night. On a more selfish note, how could I live with myself knowing I did that to an animal? Idk..

I've always been a huge fan of Paul, and the fact that he's vegan is so amazing! I wish more celebrities were like him. Love how he recognises the speciesism and is so focused on animal rights. Great interview, although I disagree with the host that 'showing people' is the best advocacy. I followed Earthling Ed for years but stayed a non-vegan. I hated 'preachy vegans', but then I saw Gary Yourofsky's speech. I was angry at first, then realised how hypocritical I was. That initial stubbornness does go away, and just because people are angry doesn't mean they'll never change. Focusing on the health/environmental aspect might make it easier for people to listen, but animal rights is what veganism is about. If we don't treat it like an urgent moral issue, people don't take it seriously
