I love how the girl uses man-made cybernetics in order to keep herself going in her pursuit of preserving nature. Really shows how human advancement isn’t all evil; it all comes down to how it is handled. Even somebody like her, somebody more robot than human, can still do good things. Absolutely beautiful work. I hope you’re proud, because you absolutely should be ❤
I took it to mean she had no choice. And really, since there are no trees, you *will* need gas masks. And since you breathe poorly, you'll grow weak and thus need to change to robotic limbs. All of this I think is tragedy...
@@nadiarey4196I agree. It’s beauty found in tragedy. That’s what this animation conveys. We see innocence stripped of its natural human beauty for machine beauty. We see this girl sacrifice her body for what appears to be one last dream of reconnecting with a lost friend by achieving their mutual dream. It shows what dystopia does to people.
That was the most tasteful, lovely way to re-use animation I've ever seen! It still felt full and beautiful, while allowing you to take off some of the workload, as well as let us experience the art more then once throughout the video.

I love this so so much and I noticed the friend of the main character has pigtails shaped and colored exactly like the tulip under the tree! my theory is that they were online friends and their friend died under the dead tree wishing it would be alive and the main character traveled the whole world for all kinds of last leaves to fulfill their dead friend's wish :c this took all their energy and they died next to the symbolism of their friend thats how important the dream was :c

@@cedricsonaquevido1565Cyberlegs have to be charged, and if they don't your thighs are just doing more work to puppeteer the legs. Thats just a regular prosthetic. And do you think sneakerheads aren't still frothing over the newest nike-cloutchasers with light up holographic laces? Rich people shoes are like, dystopia in its finest form. It would be more realistic to wear shoes that shred your feet then to not wear any. And anyways your feet get calluses to protect them when you're walking on rough stuff if you don't abuse your feet. Obviously this girl walks barefoot everywhere she goes prior to this but she walks on broken glass all day because if gamers can't look up nature spirit things can't look down. And even then she would build up resistance to broken glass. Barefooters can walk barefoot on broken glass.
I swear... This animation gets sad even before the sad parts. As soon as they were putting in their energy into the plants, I was thinking "That's not going to last, is it?" It's very blatant with all the hardships this character faces. We see them go through so much, and change so much through such a short amount of time, when they finally get to rest, it's honestly really peaceful. There's no giant twist end, and I wouldn't even call it a twist death. I'd consider the situation downhill from the start, but because of that, I found it very peaceful to find ourselves at the bottom at that slope, as she passes. This story definitely doesn't follow the format you'd see in a plot mountain, but I really love how it was constructed nontheless. Not to mention the really lovely art, animation and music. I wouldn't say the music steals the scene, but it works, and, the animation just looks so clean and well done to me! I'm not master animator, but it all just feels like a seamless experience to me. It's like, I forgot I was watching a youtube video, and got seriously invested. Honestly, just, Amazing work. Thank you.
I love emotionally charged animations that are rich with messages. Everything about this has an element of skill and care. My analysis: The main character's colours resemble the natural world. Blue eyes for the sky, green hair for the trees, yellow on the cheek diamonds for the sun. On the other hand, the motif of the city is neon pink for the signs, white for the tech, and black for the smog and buildings. Immediately good storytelling and establishment. Not to mention her face literally lights up with those cheek diamonds whenever she sees a leaf. As the animarion progresses, she is literally and metaphorically smothered by the built world around her and she is forced to take up the respirator. The first visible change being her right eye, which has now gone pink and is a reccuring motif, compared to her left eye which remained blue for a good while and is the eye cast to us the viewers when she looks up in wonder. Something I also love with the lyrics is that as she is covered in smog, the song says "Can I stay here?" I found this very tragic because the answer was pretty clear. She is also longing for a friend given the surrounding words of "Always by your side" and "When you close your eyes I will meet you there." Which can mean her friend as well as the idea of the oasis. I think the latter more because a little later you hear "Carry on because you're almost there, and what you're dreaming of won't disappear." This is an echo of her resilience for the chance to meet her oasis. What she dreams of. The idea of being smothered by the world around her continued past the minite mark. The subway train already shows how dystopian the world is wirh some people even having TV heads, further driving home how disconnected society is from the natural world that people are willing to give up their own biology for cold steel. Then we see her tipping point. Her eyes no longer are illuminated as she desides to don the respirator. The first of the mechanisation processes and the decline of her as a symbol of nature with her right eye now pink like the neon city. During which time the spinning white circle appears prior which usually happens when a video tried to establish connection ie. Buffering. This is a visual metaphor for her not being connected to the city partly. 1:30 is a crux. Her whole colour palette changes to match the neon city which is really tragic. Meanwhile the background signs becoming a montage of changes to come. Her legs, eyes, most of her body is now mechanised. She can no longer connect to the leaves she used to invigorate because she herself has lost much of her natural self. When she finally reaches the tree though, must be the saddest moment. There is little life in her, the city consumed it, and she collapses, going dark just like any other city light. She is not only physically exhausted but mentally devastated. "I felt the canyon rise, teary eyes." That line expresses the magnitude of her sorrow. Canyons are formed by rivers carving out the earth. I think saying the canyon rose refers to the water levels rising in it. This helps quantify just a little how much sadness is behind her eyes. Enough tears to fill a canyon. The visuals are a unique opposite though. She doesn't shed a single tear, her eyes probably so mechanised she can just look, expressionless. Nothing visual to comveybthe grief. But her work had value. "We rise into the sky like stars at night." Referring to each leaf she saved and restored. Suddenly her "Worlds reappear" as the leaves take their place on the tree. "They grow and coalesce. Into our lives." The leaves unify hence 'coalesce' into the shillouette of a tree as the girl lays beneath its crown. The final part of the animation is really bittwrsweet. She regains hope as she is able to restore the life to one last flower. Tying in so neatly with the song's end. "So don't lose your way, you've held on so long. Tonight I'll reappear, by your side." This is really touching because even after all the mechanisation, her conviction remained and hope restored a little as the tree lit up. She held on and 'I' being her dream of a world with trees, reappeared by her side. Ultimately this offers her a happy ending but creates enough gravity to keep us conscious that the surrounding world is still drained of any organic touch. -------- My thoughts and feelings: I really enjoyed watching this. Senses fully immersed and enraptured by the beautiful animation and song choice. Not often does media get a reaction from me. Maybe because I myself am a little desensitised. But I watched this and the feelings took over the stoic front for once. I smiled when she smiled as she saved the first leaf. My face filled with horror as the first signs if change gave in with her putting the respirator on. One by one I became sadder at every loss. The wear of her feet as they became tired and bloody, the replacement of said feet with mechanical ones, her hands being replaced which further dulled her powers. Till finally, I got goosebumps. A small whimpering "no..." Escaped my lips as I saw her gaze up at the empty tree, her eyes now fully digital. That paled in comparison to right after when she looked down, saw the wilting plant and collapsed, causing me to shout "NOOOO!". I was filled with grief. Not wanting such a pure soul to go out like this, all effort for naught. So I felt consoled almost when the tree lit up and she was able to smile one last time. The sadness not fully gone though as the shillouette ofnthe grim city remained. -------- My gratitude: Sorry I couldn't help but completely analyse and dissect your animation. It's a habit that harkens back to highschool when we were forced to analyse books, films and other media. Sometimes it was annoying but sometimes I really enjoyed it because being able to extract meaning from something makes both you and the media better. So when I see something really good and rich like this, anaylsing is my way of expressing my appreciation of your work in the highest way I possibly can.
Long and deep analysis is the sign of phenomenal success - or failure. It is a rare achievement reserved only for the very top, and for me this story deserves it.

I shouldn't get emotional over a 3 minute animated video but man this made me wanna cry. Being able to move people's hearts like that takes talent. Excellent work.
This is so beautiful… the environmentally storytelling is top notch, I could instantly tell what the situation was just from the ads on the window. And the use of color!
The fact that she pushed herself so hard is just heartbreaking, she never gave up, even when she got to the point where she couldn’t even walk anymore and had to get new legs,
I think that she and her friend were magical creatures. Her friend was gone but left a clue for her to follow. Humanity began to decay and wither like her own body but she kept going. I don't cry much but my heart broke into a zillion pieces.
i love the color scheme going from nature based green to more cold colors like purple and blue. plus the advertisements are all things the character ends up using. so much detail its wonderful

SkyeWei, just beautiful art and short story. My son is majoring in "interdisciplinary arts and performance" which is a mouthful for a simple old accountant like me, but he is focusing on music composition bgm for everything from videogames to anime and music for movies, tv shows, performance dance, etc. I'm amazed at what you creative types can do, as I'm just an old acid freak from the 70's who listened to Led Zeppelin while stoned and went to watch Pink Floyd's movie The Wall after dropping lsd into my eyes with an eyedropper, man 5 min to peak! But my son's played classical piano starting at 3 and now at 21, he is in college plyaing classical, learning to write music, plays the Keytar, plays jazz piano, and some day may pick up the 5-string electric bass in the living room! LOL I love the music in this animation and wish it went on longer as well as the story. I have been an animation fan for about 15 years now I guess, a nerve disease hit me (no it's not from partying! LOL) and I became almost fully bedridden since. Animation, the good ones, I don't know if I can explain it well, but it makes you think more thank regular film. The color and patterns, did I miss something necessary, or even just cool and beautiful. There is something about it. Look at the eyes! An animator can show so much about there work by just how they do the eye close ups. I love them here at the very start, eyes beautiful, wondering, seeking and more. Thank you so very much for your short film. 😊
Even though it's an animation but it indicates reality, of how human's advancement will destroy Nature The animation shows that how nature itself came being a *girl* and to save the remains of herself she tries her best and even she applied human techs on her to accomplish her goal even it takes to completely chance herself, literally made me crying 😢
I randomly got this online homepage on TH-cam during my break while at work and I'm glad I gave it a watch. I had no idea what it was but I was curious about it. I'm glad I watched it because it was pretty beautiful. And I feel like this has a deep meaningful thing behind it. Or even if it's just simply a story, I'm glad it exists .
That's a ... that's how I felt once out of copper smeltery. The ore concentrate contains lead and arsen and I was working right over a lead smelting furnace. Sufice to say, gas masks were mandatory. Despite that, I can't say I'm unleaded. I guarantee, if you were to eat a single tablespoon of dust from where I worked. You likely wouldn't be walking amongst us anymore. It really makes you appreciate every single leaf on a tree. Like, it's so safe you can be stupid with it and nothing will happen aside of green fingers or perhaps some twigs between your teeth. Holding a leaf in your fingers while you have so much lead on your hands they're black really does hit differently.
It took me way longer than three minutes to watch this cause I just couldn’t stop rewatching some of those amazing shots. They’re so pretty and amazing!!
I can't help but think this feels very much like Shelter, from the story to the music to the art, albeit all being quite different in its own ways too! Thank you for your incredible work. Just the thing I needed to see today.
Wow this is amazing. My opinion on this story is: Seeing how the girl has those pointy ears and can "interact" with nature, it seems like she's an elf, who made a human friend and they talked and showed the elf their favourite spots and how beautifull all is. Many houndred years later, where the robotic age began, probably missing her friend she decided to visit all the places they loved to visit. But nature is dying, the air is bad, trees are dying, so she collects any leaves in hope of restoring the little bit of nature and memories there is. Elves are often seen being deeply intwined with nature, so she most likely was dying too. She mechanically enhanced her body to make the journey and when she finally arrived at the big tree, her sacrifices were all worth it. Together with all the little pieces of nature she restored the beautifull tree, looking up at the colorful leaves and smiling, before finally coming to an end herself.
It's the first time in a long time that I've seen such high-quality work. The plot, animation, graphics, music, everything is on top. You are wonderful, I really hope to continue to observe your work!!!!
She tried to bring back nature to no avail. Just to survive she had to become the technology that killed off her beloved trees, and in the process, she destroyed her ability to bring back green. What a haunting metaphor to our efforts today.
This video lives rent free in my head that fact that such a lovable caring character ended in such a somber way leaves me with a deep sense of sympathy and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I hope you’re proud, because you absolutely should be ❤
*This is true*
Transhumanism at its finest.
I believe that she's humane at heart, but android on the outside. This video might be a depiction of OUR future...
This is too awesome!!
I hope your social media gets famous quickly.
I also hope that people who take your work give you credit instead of just stealing :(
Keep it up!!✨
NOOOOOOO, I DIDMT EXPECT THIS TO BE SO EMOTIONAL😭 THE WAY SHE MAKES THE TREE COLORFULL BY ALL THE LEAVES SHE SAVED :(
This animation was so bittersweet. It’s such a wonderful story of show don’t tell. It made me cry 😢 at least the girl’s at peace now
I love this so so much and I noticed the friend of the main character has pigtails shaped and colored exactly like the tulip under the tree! my theory is that they were online friends and their friend died under the dead tree wishing it would be alive and the main character traveled the whole world for all kinds of last leaves to fulfill their dead friend's wish :c this took all their energy and they died next to the symbolism of their friend thats how important the dream was :c
The subtext underneath this video is amazing! I loved every little detail of it and I watched this masterpiece ever and over I can't wait to see your other works!!
I was sobbing through this... everything from the art to the story is impeccable. Wonderful job.
seing her legs getting more and more injured with time and then the fact she had to replace them were just so damn sad
edit: why ya all are debating about if robot legs are better than human legs or not bruh
am saying it's sad cuz she obviously like nature more than technology and wanted to find some of it somewhere and the fact she had to change almost all her body feels like she been corrupted this is why i find it sad
Thats just because she didn't have shoes.
If you walked 200 miles with no shoes you'd look like that too. Her injuries weren't even that bad.
youd still get fatigue even with shoes.
it also looks like everyone is already cybernetically enhanced so theres no buisness in selling shoes.
Barefooters can walk barefoot on broken glass.
so beautiful, the storytelling, the art, the feel... This animation is just so good
I swear...
This animation gets sad even before the sad parts. As soon as they were putting in their energy into the plants, I was thinking "That's not going to last, is it?"
It's very blatant with all the hardships this character faces. We see them go through so much, and change so much through such a short amount of time,
when they finally get to rest, it's honestly really peaceful.
Honestly, just,
Amazing work. Thank you.
everything about this was absolutely stunning. especially at 2:33 where she bloomed the flower.
I love emotionally charged animations that are rich with messages. Everything about this has an element of skill and care.
My analysis:
The main character's colours resemble the natural world.

My thoughts and feelings:
I really enjoyed watching this.

My gratitude:
Sorry I couldn't help but completely analyse and dissect your animation.
I ain't reading all that
I'm happy for u tho
or sorry that happened
I read all of it.
Seems like you put a lot of work writng this comment, which I have rarely seen.
This animation, it has...something. I experienced bittersweetness, which I find awe-inspiring.
I dont get why your comment isnt at the top, but...I hope mine helps
Beautiful analysis! Couldn’t have said it better myself lol
I think the 'I' is more of her friends shown in her map
I shouldn't get emotional over a 3 minute animated video but man this made me wanna cry.
Being able to move people's hearts like that takes talent. Excellent work.
Oml everything from the shading to the story is perfection
I watch this video regularly and cry every time. Probably the my favourite video on the planet… Such a sad story with a bittersweet taste
This is so beautiful… the environmentally storytelling is top notch, I could instantly tell what the situation was just from the ads on the window. And the use of color!
Your understanding of saturation and muted tones was done masterfully. Absolutely wonderful job
The fact that she pushed herself so hard is just heartbreaking, she never gave up, even when she got to the point where she couldn’t even walk anymore and had to get new legs,
Man, the Lorax anime is looking absolutely stunning!
LMAO WHY DOES THIS MAKE SENSE 😭
I... Love this so much. It's so pretty, an amazing story, and told in such a good way. Great job!
HOW DO YOU ONLY HAVE 3,000 SUBS?!?!?!??! YOU ARE SO SO SO TALENTED MY GUY! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

ITS ILLEGAL TO BE THIS UNDERRATED
I keep coming back to this animation. It's so beautiful. It's weirdly hopeful for something so sad.
Peak Animation!!! Can’t believe u animated this all by urself as a student
I really hope this could get more attention🥹💚cuz this is GORGEOUS
They've been doing this for a coupla years
I was surprised by the songs and drawings in his video! You are a genius!!
This is so beautiful, especially the colors and the moments where you see her eyes up close
I think that she and her friend were magical creatures. Her friend was gone but left a clue for her to follow. Humanity began to decay and wither like her own body but she kept going. I don't cry much but my heart broke into a zillion pieces.
shelter vibe
www
Fr!!! Shelter literally broke me and now this 😭😭😭
the music is quite Porter-esque, i think 0:31 even uses the japanese sample from Flicker
Shelter was kind of cringe though the story actually makes sense here
Same vibe indeed 😭
if this music video were made into a Shadow Run campaign, there wouldn't be a single dry eye in the room, rest well little wood nymph, rest well
Colors and storytelling gotta be my fav thing here, but everything is just amazing! New sub♥️
i love the color scheme going from nature based green to more cold colors like purple and blue. plus the advertisements are all things the character ends up using. so much detail its wonderful
Aaa! How wonderful it is, your works inspire me not to be lazy and give up, but to try hard! As an artist, I see how much work and effort was into the work. I hope to see your masterpieces again! Thank you♥
before seeing this, I couldn't belive there could be such wonder inside someone's mind. The colors, the music, the themes. It's so wonderfull, congratulations, I hope the final prodoct fully represent your idea, it has been so inspiring. Thank you
I'm glad I got to see this from your own account before other people that stole the video. This is such a wonderful animation, and deserves more recognition.
LOL
I love the music in this animation and wish it went on longer as well as the story. 😊
This is depressing in the most beautiful way. Thank you for making this, ill go cry to sleep now ;-;
She kept her promises.
Beautiful
Id like to think that she was still alive after that, but perhaps death might be the happy ending in a dying world
THE ANIMATION IS AMAZING, and very smooth. I love the little details of shading, and the colors you chose.
Even though it's an animation but it indicates reality, of how human's advancement will destroy Nature
The animation shows that how nature itself came being a *girl* and to save the remains of herself she tries her best and even she applied human techs on her to accomplish her goal even it takes to completely chance herself, literally made me crying 😢
What do you mean this only has 8k views? I was 100% expecting there to be WAY more this is really high quality.
It took me way longer than three minutes to watch this cause I just couldn’t stop rewatching some of those amazing shots. They’re so pretty and amazing!!
So amazing, from the art to the story telling, WELL DONE!
She creates a lot of high quality animations! But unfortunately, the traffic here has not been high, in China she has more than half a million fans!
Simply amazing, and deep.
the details are on another level bro this is awesome 😭
WE NEED A SERIES OMG THIS IS SO GOOOD I LOVE THE CHARACTER DESIGN THE COLOURS I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!! PERFECT ANIMATION!!!!!
I can't help but think this feels very much like Shelter, from the story to the music to the art, albeit all being quite different in its own ways too! Thank you for your incredible work. Just the thing I needed to see today.
Wow this is amazing.
My opinion on this story is:
Seeing how the girl has those pointy ears and can "interact" with nature, it seems like she's an elf, who made a human friend and they talked and showed the elf their favourite spots and how beautifull all is.
So damn good! Loved the fact that cold the warm colours represented their respective sides.
This is so sad... But also beautifully and it kinda wanna make me cry bc of the deep meaningful
I just found your channel from reels and I think I’m obsessed. Your art makes me smile ♥️
This video lives rent free in my head that fact that such a lovable caring character ended in such a somber way leaves me with a deep sense of sympathy and I can’t stop thinking about it.
This is so beautiful! Amazing style! 😍 Hope this will get much more views!
I could write a paragraph about how awesome this is, but all I have to say is well done.
