Please Share Tina L Point is locked out of all her social media’s I’ve been meaning to write this status ever since the meeting at City Hall the other night I just want to clarify a few things that some people might not know…. Cornwall does not have a homeless shelter. The city does not want a homeless shelter. There will never be a homeless shelter in Cornwall. The Parisian Manor is transitional housing. Individuals are able to go there however there is a wait it’s not set up for emergencies , nor can you walk in anytime. The manor is open business hours Monday through Friday , no week nights no weekends. Anyone who lives there is required to pay rent. They have no use to a kitchen nor are meals provided to them. They are allowed one person to visit them even tho they pay rent and aren’t allowed any donations so I want to make this clear to everyone. City hall meeting was televised and can still be watched pertaining this matter. Secondly, when it comes to “ Massey place” this was arranged and purchased over six months ago. Nobody was ever asked if that location was OK. Nobody was asked if the city or the residence feel like it’s appropriate to have the shelter around elementary schools and a high school. it doesn’t from my knowledge meet bi laws and the same agenda is what they have for there … NO emergency sheltering , no food , no after hours. So because the city feels that they don’t want a shelter and that’s not what is best then a shelter is what we will not have. Instead of what’s needed , it’s what they want! Instead of thinking about homeless it’s thinking about themselves. This is very hard to wrap my head around and very hard to understand! What the City has done is good , they are trying all helping some but not all. This is a kind of help but is not a solution for homeless nor emergency situations. Tomorrow is Friday and from what I’ve gathered they are saying all individuals must vacate the homeless camp! They don’t care where they go or what happens! If this happens all these people will have nowhere to shelter themselves in emergencies or at night in the cold. Something must be done . The the community must come together. Cornwall residents must come together.  everyone should be able to have a say, and an opinion as to what happens not just have people who haven’t seen this homeless camp and haven’t lived it , haven’t encountered these issues, Make decisions on what they feel is best instead of what should actually happen . Please feel free to message me or give me your input on what it is that you think and how you actually feel about what has been done and what is being done . I no longer know what to do and just want to help to find a solution.

Hi! The residences were pretty good! There are some rooms with amazing waterfront views while other rooms the view wasn’t great. The rooms had mini fridge and microwave. There’s also a nice common lounge area with games/wii/tv etc. you can also see their website for more info and pictures - it was pretty accurate in my experience
