I can't count the number of times I've just 'popped out' to get fuel or some other items and come back home hours later with less gas than I started with.
Give me some of this type of driving over the massive hp stars that catch all the headlines these days! I think I might prefer a similar style lotus Elise but just about anything that I can drive at ten tenths all day will make me happy!
Massive horsepower is not for driving fun for sure, plus i think there are more than enough pure drivers cars out there to satisfy our list, it’s just that like you said, they mega flashy stuff gets most of the attention and the coverage, not many are aware of the simpler sports cars unless you dig deeper. You can buy an older on for half the money or less and get the same fun. I bought a 1700 crossflow with a 135 bhp a few years ago. Great fun and I lost less than £600 pounds when I sold it four years later. They are easy to service, just make sure that you have somewhere to keep it secure.
That looks enormous fun. I read some where it’s £6,000 down payment & £200 a month. Don’t know what spec that was, probably base & build it your self but still not that expensive

It’s not like EVs can’t be fun, you just have to remind yourself to not think about V8s and enjoy EVs for what they are. Nice video, but it would have been nice to know a bit more about how each drove. Was the 'sports' suspension worth it? And how does this model compare to buying a used Caterham for about £20-22k? Is the the 84bhp lacking on road compared to say a K-Series or Sigma powered Seven?
I imagine they have very healthy margins on these cars. Everything about them is inexpensive and easy to produce. That's why we can buy these awesome machines for cheap and drive circles around most other people at the track day.
I reckon if you bought the base model, and left out a few screws putting it together, you could achieve R model power to weight and spend the rest on track fees!
OK, how far do I need to have a 170S taken apart so that I can import it to the US? Caterham USA's website does not really cover this car. 84 HP would be plenty for me in such a light car.
