@marie trotski Well, she said at the end that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. But had to accept that it wasn't going to happen. I think he knows that deep down she loves him and wanted to save him. But she tried everything and failed. But how could she not love him. This is the guy who was born to be evil and had every reason to be. But against all odds chose to be good for those that he love and respected.
I really need the love story part of this drama right around now. If it hasn't been written as yet. They should probably get started.
@marie trotski I agree with you! The ending wasn't bad, it was just bittersweet. There were a lot of hints and symbolisms. Like when Susu said she had many things to tell TTJ, but she won't right now because he's being bad and she'll say them when they meet again. She's either being hopeful or foreshadowing that he will return one day.
People were bothered that Susu didn't proclaim her love for TTJ at the end, but sometimes, words aren't needed because actions speak louder. TTJ knows Susu loves him and so do we, the audience. She protected him, defended him, and believed in him. 😭
The close-up of the magic scale in the ending scene with TTJ's spirit inside. He was smiling. He did not perish and is awaiting an opportunity to return. I'm assuming his spirit is healing in the magic scale, which Susu carries around with her, so in a way, TTJ is always with his wife and daughter. ❤
Yes, we didn't get to see them reunite, but considering everything that happened, I think it's a good thing that TTJ is still alive. There's a chance that they will meet again one day, even though we don't get to witness it. I'm just happy he didn't die!

oh the second bts part makes so much sense why the episode felt awkward during the scene. BaiLu's headwear and a bit on the lighting too. They have a stark white lighting here, more cool tone than neutral. and the CGI effects from the episodes is a bright warm yellow. it was harsh on the eyes.

Youku, as an international company, I implore you to take more care with your English subs. Your subs throughout this drama (and others) are often poorly done if not completely wrong or downright obscene. Someone in an official position or with an educated background should not be subbed in English as if they were working in a meat market. Chinese is a beautiful language and you should take more care with finding the equivalent expressions in English to help international fans enjoy your productions to the fullest. I am fluent in both Chinese mandarin and English, so I don't need the subs, but now and then I watch this drama with non-Chinese friends and we find your choice of words often so bizarre that I cannot fathom that a human being actually did the subtitles. Surely it cannot be that difficult to employ people with some understanding of English fantasy or period dramas to check your subtitles before you release them onto TH-cam or your international app? I am not the last and certainly won't be the first to make this type of comment, but please understand that it would be beneficial to growth of your platform and audience if the quality of subs were improved.
