There are certain "craftsman" videos that just make you sit back and admire the skill. Then there are ones like THIS, that make you go "Holy f*** I want to LEARN that!" That's YOU, dude 👍
Red Wing actually made a pair of paratrooper boots in the 60s called Red Wing Skytroopers, very rare now but they were the same style as Corcoran Jump Boots but with a few unique features
I usually fast forward through rebuild videos to get right to the end product. Your rebuilds are are so interesting and unique it keeps me watching each step of the way.
I really like these boots. Excellent build. If I had to nitpick, I’d have preferred side stitching the new toe caps the way the originals were, instead of just gluing them, but they turned out amazing.
Closed blade and above the ankle joint so it doesn’t inhibit range of motion. Should be fine. If he twisted or folded the ankle, the knife won’t effect the injury
In the days when I completed a parachute course, those boots wouldn't have been allowed. The top two lace fastenings are open types, so there would have been a small chance of them snagging a rigging line, had the parachutist tumbled. Closed lacing loops only were permitted. Times change things, I suppose. Good video though!
I was in the U.S.M.C Infantry for 12 yrs had many pairs of boots. A few pairs where resoled never seen it done now I have. You have some skills sir well done
Fantastic job, only miffling is the extra leather at the toe probably could have been implemented better, that isnt going to hold up to a ton of abuse is it? Prolly just add a stitch line to the sides and it would go a long way
🤯, after watching numerous videos, i am amazed at how i didn't know the amazing world of leather boots. i must have been getting the cheapo leather kind and i assumed all were the same, lol. appreciate all the info and videos. time to get a proper leather boot! love the fact that one can resole and rejuvenate footwear.
That was one of the better rebuilds I've watched and I'm a huge Bedo's fan. Great job. And I assume when the soles get worn down it's a simple tear-off and reglue? Very smart
Amazing quality video as usual. Really should be getting more views. I feel like it should be in trenton and heath territory. You guys do a great job with all the content. So satisfying to watch
Love that extra layer on the toe cap. I need to have that done on my work boots, I keep kicking stuff since I have metal toe caps on my thorogoods, so it's messing up the leather. Good idea
Long time since I last jumped out of a plane but aren't speed hooks a no no for risk of lines getting caught? My old Italian army jump boots were a pain to do up every morning with just eyelets. Maybe they are ok on paragliders as they start with the lines all stretched out?
So I am in northern Utah could you guys make my doc martins pier boots that I’ve been wearing for the past 15 years back to life and better like those Irish setters?
The guy is a sky diver not a Paratrooper. When I was in the US Army as an Airborne Infantryman we only wore the standard issue combat boots or the jungle boots because after we land or crash to land we had to walk many miles for days or weeks during exercises, in combat the same. Today Paratroopers jump with issue boots which has better neoprene soles which last longer on long road marches. Our Cochran Jump Boots from WWII design is not made for modern combat and used only as dress boots for in dress uniforms. Many tier one Special Operations Forces use civilian hiking boots over standard US Military boots in combat.
Amazing crafstmanship and some great additions to the boot. I did have a question: for the midsole, would it have been better to do all leather, or does it not really matter?

I’m an artist, and craftsman, and I am amazed at the artistry, and amazing level of craftsmanship here.

I couldnt look away. I was mesmerized. I have never seen a pair of boots reincarnated before. So cool. Upgraded, improved, renewed.
Welcome. Now sit down and get set for the deluge.
The all black look is super clean and the reinforced toe is genius.
The best part was seeing them in action, getting a workout again!

same here 🙌
First pair of wedge sole boots I would actually wear. Good job!
Truly a labor of love. Amazingly done.
He was just a lucky trooper and he surely shook with priiide.
I wish moc toe work boots did this. I’ve literally been looking for a moc like this with the double toe area for months.
Looks like a cobbler can do it. Ask a local cobbler, show him the doubled toe snippet, and see what happens.
Liked the all black they look pretty awesome. From someone who isn't familiar with wedge sole boots I liked these ones.
I would totally buy a kilty with a knife pocket pre sewn in
Anyone feels that the alternative rose anvil channels are the most mesmerising ones?
That smile at the end says everything! Plus, I dug the kilties, so I ordered a set for my Thorogoods right now.
I really like these boots. Excellent build. If I had to nitpick, I’d have preferred side stitching the new toe caps the way the originals were, instead of just gluing them, but they turned out amazing.
Wondering how practical the tongue pocket would be, and whether or not it could be dangerous in landing to have a knife there, pushing into your ankle
Closed blade and above the ankle joint so it doesn’t inhibit range of motion. Should be fine. If he twisted or folded the ankle, the knife won’t effect the injury

That was a terrific, functional build. Kudos to all.
Would love to see an update on these after he’s been putting them to use
Real boots used in the fields!Love them

My thoughts exactly. The glue will start to split and dirt will accumulate between the toe cap and the toe.
I have 4 or 5 pair of old RW boots... I would love to have at least 3 reworked....

That video made me feel so happy amd relaxed. Dude was so friggin happy with his pimped out kicks.
❤
💥💥 Now that’s pure 💥💥
Craftsmanship
❤️🏴love from Scotland 🏴 ❤
I have these boots and I swear it’s the shank that squeaks so bad in the right boot
These build videos just keep getting better and better!!
French Indo-China Paratrooper boots from the 60's look futuristic!
Awesome rebuild and the extras added made them much better than the original 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I love that knife pocket on the kiltie
Rawhide laces are ok at first once broken in but snap within 6 months
Build is sick but that knife pocket is giving me ankle pain just looking at it
Dope. So cool to see you upgrade and restore these. Even better, for a friend and to aid in his passions. Thanks for sharing!
Okay yeah more of these videos for sure.
Amazing. Simply amazing.
Love to see this with voice commentery
Love the background music
That's one beautiful pair of boots. ❤
Super satisfying to watch, and what a result.
Amazing man, I don't even wear shoes - but this was amazing to watch. Truly inspiring. Considering starting to wear shoes again.
You walk around barefoot all the time or what
Ngl, he’s making me consider wearing clothes again
No shank? I really liked the bevelled and welt before the dye the raw accent looked cool.
Damn! I would love a pair of these!
Beautiful work love em
Wow!!! I love watching videos like this, the boots look stunning and the craftsmanship is superb
That was one of the better rebuilds I've watched and I'm a huge Bedo's fan. Great job. And I assume when the soles get worn down it's a simple tear-off and reglue? Very smart
Great restoration! I prefer a thick leather midsole. Just more durable and supportive, IMO.
Amazing quality video as usual. Really should be getting more views. I feel like it should be in trenton and heath territory. You guys do a great job with all the content. So satisfying to watch
You do some dam fine work
Absolutely beautiful.
Proper work. Respect
aaaw so cool. absolutely amazing work.
I'm not sure if I enjoyed the rebuild or them in action better, well done Rose Anvil Team.
Love that extra layer on the toe cap. I need to have that done on my work boots, I keep kicking stuff since I have metal toe caps on my thorogoods, so it's messing up the leather. Good idea
Same, I started doing the tuff toe on my red wings. Looks like clown shoes at first but gets the job done.
I am sure the bottoms felt more soft with the foam inside then cork.
Incredibile! Sono diventati bellissimi! Bravo! Saluti dall'Itala.👋👋
That was a fantastic transformation. 😎👍
Putting the pocket on a kilt ie is smart. I don’t want to ruin my boot but I’d experiment with a kiltie.
Great video! I wondered if a toe cap moc toe was possible
Looks like the Flight Park in Draper.
nice job, but that location of the knife-pocket is probably the worst I could think off
Great upgrade. Looks amazing!
Wow great job
Acetone is good for you

It looks like you boys know what you’re doing!

Excellent video! Though that kiltie pocket is pretty stupid I must admit
I'm not opposed to aesthetic stitching, but functionally, I feel like the knife would dig in with the kiltie pocket.
I’m guessing that pocket isn’t actually for a knife
Would be a great spot to stash emergency cash
Pure Art
So educational and I would love to learn more about those machines. Thanks!
So I am in northern Utah could you guys make my doc martins pier boots that I’ve been wearing for the past 15 years back to life and better like those Irish setters?
How come the toe cap was not stitched on the side like the original? Looks weird without stitching.
Does the folded knife in the tongue pocket not jab the front of your shin to death?
i thought they looked really good with the undyed edge on the welt
what's the cost of a new pair of boots of similar quality vs the cost to repair/refurbish these ?
bless this content
How did you learn how to make/repair boots?
I thought it was going to be the he redwing sky troopers. The real paratrooper boots:(
Can you do my Jim Green Veli’s?
The toe cap only clued at the side? Will it not open up?
Loved this one👌👌👌
Holy mackerel!!!❤😮
Unreal.
Awesome!!!
But wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy a new pair of boots vs having all this work done or no?
What kind of pliers are those? I got some jim greens that need resole and i need some basics
Great stuff!
This is a stupid question, but what’s the item name that you’re using to spread the leather dye
Great work but I would have preferred black stitching to make them uber Gucci 😉
I didn't see one single "Paratrooper" in this video.
Considering the amount of effort you went to, not using a veg tan leather midsole seems like madness to me.
So satisfying 👍👌
What does the cork do in the outsole?

Now I'm considering getting black boots now and not brown
All the way
