Intermittent fasting has changed my life! That and cutting the sweets, breads, pasta, and most starches has given me more energy than I’ve had in 20 years! Kudos to you! Love your channel! I’m struggling still with sleeping. Hope I can figure that out.
I’m excited to learn more about nutrition and gain even more benefit from healthy and clean eating! ❤️ I hope you are able to find a good sleep solution!
A schedule, carving out time for just me, eating better, getting up early on days off work to just enjoy the peace of morning time, and getting out for a nice walk after dinner. And in general, just slowing down and not setting up chaotic routines and places that I need to be. Also cooking easier meals with just a few ingredients. I would love to see a morning routine for you and your family.
As a person with fibromyalgia and a spine/neck issue, I'm learning how important it is to have proper posture. Also a really good mattress for better sleep. I'm finally practicing some self care after years of putting everyone else first.
Loren, I have very tender pressure points and most regular mattresses hurt. The Mlily has a firm side and a soft side, choose which works best for you. I have a split king with adjustable frame for position adjustment.
Taking a nap , swimming each morning and playing the piano.. I’m retired now and have the time..😀. When I was raising my kids and working I couldn’t do anything but chase time… but I’ve always been super organised.. prep at night for us, lunches, crockpot dinners, outfits( including mine)… so grateful I’m retired ☺️.
Ah retirement…sounds magical! Ha ha! In my current season of life I agree with you that it helps a lot to be organized. Not wasting time on being inefficient means more of it can be spent enjoying my kids and family time in general. ❤️
Thank you Angela, I appreciate your encouragement towards minimalism in our homes. Currently, my car trunk is completely filled with our excess I have been ruthlessly decluttering for the past two days. I am on my way to the charity shop tomorrow morning to donate it all. I have found some of my most successful decluttering sessions are when I am fed up with the chaos all around me and can't get things out of my house fast enough.
Lol. I’m a stress starver. Sometimes also a stress sleeper. Maybe not at first (which would look more like going on overdrive mentally-although most folks wouldn’t even notice Bcuz it’s all so internal for me), but there is usually some kind of adrenal crash involved eventually. Brain and nervous system fatigue I guess. Fight or flight kind of thing that uses up a lot of energy. Hypes up and then depletes adrenaline. It makes me good in a crisis but I have to tell my body when it’s not really quite the crisis my brain thinks it is. But at least now there is less stress and it’s only that intense when it’s high stress. Thankfully it’s not near as often as it used to be. That super high stress is rare for me these days. Of course no life is ever stress free but there are a lot of stressy things that we don’t need to add to our plates. I start there usually. If I was trying to make decades of stress management (both bad and good) shorter (abuse is stress pretty much) or more succinct, I would prob say number one would be learning how to face your fears before anything may or may not happen. Let your mind evaluate “worst case scenarios” and basically find out more quickly that it won’t kill you. And then most every time, the worst case never happens anyways. So then you aren’t living with this constant impending dread sort of thing all the time. Sometimes also I just do the redirecting my mind trick. I will either do more/think less (any mundane task or fun activity) or I will redirect or distract my mind on a better topic to mull over. Or even something trite or frivolous or just a little puzzle to work on. Or watch a whodunit and go play detective for awhile. Lol. It helps my analytical mind latch onto something besides what I’m worried so much about or stressing over. Of course writing or journaling is a godsend tho. Dump it on paper and get it all out of my head. On a practical note lol. My coffee routine and the way I start my day can often help me avoid stress I would’ve had if I had not taken the time for “setting my mind” for the day and enjoying my little ritual as the very first thing with that daily being my top priority. If you don’t make me time happen, it likely never will happen. There will always be something but I now tell all those somethings that they will just have to wait until after coffee (for me it’s usually hungry cats or a needed task or problem to solve trying to scream at me lol). I also do my best to try to cut it all off close to bedtime (all the things and so on). Any kind of stay at home gig is tough tho. You really have to work at not letting it all be 24-7 with no rest or me time and so on. So at the very least I push it all away upon starting and ending my day. And there are just very few true urgent emergencies really. If nobody is dying, bleeding or throwing up, then leave me alone or make an appointment. Lol. And there are times where it’s adults or just things that can wait, in which case I’m like yah. I’ll call 911 for ya but I ain’t your mama or just make a note and say deal with you later.
I do a lot of what is on the list -intermittent fasting, healthy eating ( no junk, alcohol, fast foods), up before the sun to enjoy a few hours of quiet and go on an early morning walk, establish a doable routine, reducing choices to prevent overwhelm, have downtime daily (no tech, television, etc). I don't have children but I remember having dinner with the family when growing up. That was such an important time for the family to have awareness of what was happening with everyone.
Hi Angela, what a nice idea for a video! Really enjoyed it! I used to skip breakfast because I was always trying to get ahead of myself, especially as a home educator, I wanted to make the most of the morning hours!! So, changing pace and taking care of myself with more wholesome food it's been a life changing on my energy level and mood!😄🤗
That’s awesome! I really think that I still have a lot to learn about food and nourishment, but I’m excited about it!! I’ve seen so many benefits of being more mindful about what I eat and when I eat! ❤️
I have a question. While you were in the kitchen , there was a clipboard with an inventory sheet for shopping. Where could I locate such a sheet, please? You have helped so many of us!
Honoring circadian rhythms seems to help in this house. We are diurnal animals so getting up with, or before, the sun provides the tone for the day. Getting exposure to early morning air and light is pretty magical. Largest meal at noon when the sun is strongest, evening meal about half that size and no eating after sunset if possible. Meals are freshly prepared from scratch, locally grown produce. One day a week with no devices!
Yes! As someone who craves daylight this one has been so life giving to me! I want to try to work on the one day with no devices too! We have done it in the past when our kids were little - would have a screen free Saturday once or twice a month. As they have gotten older, we aren’t always able to be together the full day on Saturday’s. But I really would love to bring that concept back, at least for myself! A nice reset! ❤️
@@ArrowHillCottage No kids in this house so certain things are easier, such as No Device Days! Also have one evening with no lights on so early bedtime is guaranteed. Always look forward to your generous and meaningful posts.
And it’s crazy how added sugar is in SO many things! I would like to do a complete sugar detox myself at some point. At times I can be quite addicted to it if I’m nor careful! ❤️
What are some healthy habits YOU have implemented in your life?

Morning devotional, limit choices, home management routine, time in nature, quiet time for kids and parents
I would like to start incorporating a morning devotional. ❤️
To reduce choices - love this! Thank you for another insightful video ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching! ❤️

Yes! Slowing down is so important! I will consider a morning routine video. I know that would be easier to film in the summer! ❤️

That’s wonderful Diana! So happy you are taking good care of yourself! ❤️
hi Diana, can you share the details of your mattress? struggling too with posture
I bought an MLily mattress several years ago and it's far superior to any furniture store mattress I've ever had.

journaling nearly daily. It's just a brain dump where I write down all of my thoughts and feelings. I've done it for decades and it really helps.

Definitely give it a try! Remember that it does take a little while to get fully in sync with it though! ❤️
Great video!

If I'm a little stressed, I can overeat and choose junk foods. But if I'm really stressed (especially worried about a loved one), I don't eat at all.
I have a question. While you were in the kitchen , there was a clipboard with an inventory sheet for shopping. Where could I locate such a sheet, please? You have helped so many of us!
