My addiction to weed and variety of it has 100% transferred into fragrances. I don’t even think about the other stuff anymore. I remember you as CGkid helping me though the hardest times of my life. Years later, here we are on the same path. I’m proud of you and excited for more fragrance videos!
Great video, great style, great taste. Thanks for giving us something different than the rest. Quick notes: I don't speak much French either, but Thé Noir is French for Black Tea AFAIK. The minimalist backbone/accord MFK created for BR540 consists of a balance of huge amounts of ethyl maltol (candy floss), ambroxan (synthetic ambergris), and evernyl (synthetic oakmoss), which together produce a dense radiant accord with a saffron-like note. And: I love Bentley Absolute. 👍
Since you’ve got a Dossier on here, I feel ok about sharing one to the list. Dossier Sunny Vetiver and Neroli is a really nice cheapie and is NOT a dupe! This is an original composition by the brand. My first fragrance purchase before opening up to spending real money on perfumes, and I still like and wear it!
Althair is actually surprisingly good. Crazy compliments and performance. I was very anti-althair in 2023 but this year I am a huge fan. I ordered a full bottle for colder months.
That sums it up. I was very anti-Althair as well thought it was a basic vanilla but giving it a chance I realize it’s pretty great. It grew on me for sure.
Also just purchased Naxos (2024 batch, recent) and it is beast mode. +12h easily. Don't let the coloring fool you, it is yellow now but it gets darker by time as it oxcidates. It will be brown in 2 years.
Have you ever got your nose on the harmonist hypnotizing fire? Recently got a decant of the OG parfum and an inspired by and both smell amazing, going to be a fall go to for sure for me.
I never heard of it before this week when a NM employee asked me to try it. I was definitely impressed. I took a test strip home with me so I could continue smelling it. 🙂
You ever try TF, Vanille Fatale? Probably the best TF fragrance. IMO, I think Viking is more of a barbershop frag than Royal Oud/BDP. Spice & Wood is amazing, but weak performance. MFK, Grand Soir is the best MFK hands down. Great list.
Something that stuck out to me…Oud Wood. You mentioned soapy oud. I 100% get that and made a post the other day about how I felt it was clean and crisp in a different type of way and some folks were laughing. Sad to hear about poor performance, I’ve seen so many say that. My bottle gives me great performance, 8+ hours every wear.
Some great choices on here but a couple i think should be on this list are … louis vuitton -orage or montale - vetiver patchouli, chanel - sycomore or lalique - encre noir, nasomatto - pardon, le labo - vetiver 46, diptyque - tempo & guerlain - heritage.
I haven’t tried those yet I recently started sampling Pardon and it’s great. It oddly reminds me of jubilation 40 not really but kinda, it’s weird lol. I really want to try Vetiver 46 and Patchouli 24 le Labo is becoming my favorite house lately.
@@theverdict4322 I love Ani I’m gonna wear althair some more because the reactions are insane. Hoping it grows on me but regardless I can say it hella performs and most people seem to love it that with the 125ml bottle it’s a beast!

@CgScents Nice. I can see this channel taking off. You got great knowledge and very well spoken. Not afraid to keep it real. Also like how you have broken down olfactory perception, ties to scent memories, etc
I really wanted to love Ani but I only like it. The vanilla and lemon is beautiful (the dry down is heavenly and beast mode on my cloths even though it doesn’t smell like a beast when I wear it). However I just can’t get over the menthol/vapo rub/ointment smell. I used to think that I couldn’t smell the cardamom at all, then one day I opened a packet of green cardamom pods in my kitchen - that’s when it hit me that the menthol smell is a very concentrated cardamom. I love cardamom - its one of my favourite spices to eat and smell. However, this medicinal vibe is not how I like cardamom - I more like the fresh cardamom in Gris Charnel. I layered Grand Soir with BDK Tabac Rose today and I was in heaven!
It’s interesting you say that because when I first smelled Ani and showed it to people myself and someone else got that medicinal vibe and were turned off as well. For some reason I don’t get that as much anymore but the person I showed it to couldn’t get past it at all.
I sampled jubilation and absolutely loved it but you’re right… I can’t go out wearing it and expect it to last for more then 4-6 hours MAYBE… that’s a strong maybe.
Jubilation has 1904 ratings on Parfumo saying that the performance is 8.1, equaling Sauvage EDP which performs solid 8 hours. I mean, are you in that small pile of people that rated it 5 or something? Is yours real? Amazing video btw, and I respect your own unfiltered opinions especially regarding the scent profiles, which is a highly subjective topic.
I’m positive my bottle is real. I don’t understand those ratings 😅 maybe it’s my skin chemistry or I go nose blind super fast. Frustrating whatever it is,
@@CgScents sometimes when I think a fragrance is really bad but most have said its good I usually need to spray once on my arm furthest point from nose but not wrist (bc gonna wash my hands) and see for how long i can smell it at an about 3 inch distance (cos if i need to stick my nose to it, then for me its a skin scent and basically gone.

Thank you man! I see what you’re saying I just publicly categorize niche as any brand that doesn’t produce designer products the grey areas get confusing because it’s left to opinion and a lot of people have different views. I would say that PDM has quite a few releases that are derivative of fragrances produced by designer brands on the market though (especially Percival and Godolphin). Some are mass appealing and feel uninspired. However, I also believe some of their releases are very original. I can’t find a Kalan, Carlisle, Pegasus Exclusif, Delina, etc or anything close to those at all in a Sephora. I also find them mass appealing but that’s not a bad thing and doesn’t take from the creativity IMO. All brands have their hits and flops but considering PDM has released 40 fragrances while a lot of other niche brands have over 100 easily their batting average is pretty high for producing artistic designs that win people over. Heck, Amouage King Blue and PDM Layton were actually influenced by the same perfumer (Hamid Merati-Kashani).
Damn he did Percival? 😅 clearly he can shift priorities pretty fast! King Blue is one of my favorites but such a polarizing scent from that to percival is so crazy to me.
