LOL I have loved this story and it got me out of a fix once. I was in college giving an assigned presentation, I was asked a question, had no clue to the answer. I was carpooling with another who was sitting in the class; I just said, "That is so simple I am just going to let my chauffeur answer that!" and called on my friend who had driven that day! Professor must have been familiar with Jerry as she fell out laughing! The much younger-than-us students were bewildered,My driver most of all.
Whomever reads this… At the very end of the joke, when he says: “…I’m surprised that they’d let a man who don’t know more than you know get in this university” I’ve listened to this sentence several times and it still doesn’t make sense. Can somebody help me interpret it the right way??
He was setting up his line to call on the professor. He was calling the student so stupid that his obviously unintelligent and uneducated chauffeur could answer.
One of my all-time favorites by Mr. Clower. Thank you so very much!!!
