Thank you so much for this and the happy memories it brings back of my childhood. I lived on the road it was filmed on it's Willowtree Road in Hale Greater Manchester and the cinema was Hale Cinema. I remember getting autographs from the actors oneday. It was so sad that the cinema was demolished not long after the show finished and it's now blocks of flats. I remember the last film I ever saw there was Abba -The Movie!
Yes this brings back memories. I remembered all the filming and thought that it was a dream as no one could recall it. The last film I saw there was Abba - The movie as I didn't have much choice, I lived on Ashley Road and our house backed on to the old cinema.
Thank you so much for uploading this. It was my favourite programme as a child, but I haven't seen or heard anything of it for 35 years. I'm pleased to say I remembered the theme tune, note for note!
WOW thank you so much for posting this, I've been trying to remember for ages the bbc kids show set in a cinema, will be spending the next few hours watching all your videos I adore No 73!!!
Glad to see this again, waited so long to see it. I really got into films and cinema in 1979 but I guess I was interested before I knew it... 4 years before I knew it :)
Just one or two notes of interest. We live in Altrincham and my dad was the service engineer for the Cinema House Hale for over 10 years. Bert the chief projectionist and Brian the 2nd projectionist were good friends. I still have to two Kalee 8 projectors, RCA PS2 sound heads and stands that were used in this production. I also still have the BTH Projector used in the Saturday Morning Kids Show that was made at BBC Manchester in 1982-3.
I remember two things about this programme when I watched it as a kid: (a) I enjoyed it and (b) the theme tune was brilliant. Does anyone know the title of the theme tune? I would love to play it on my keyboard. It brings back wonderful memories. Thank you so much for sharing this gem from the past.

+Annie Thurston Well my Mum used to send me to Hale Cinema when I was about 8 or 9 on Saturday as I lived on Victoria Road.

The Post Office obviously had a very quick visit to change the phone lol...
Found this at last. Was beginning to think this didn't exist except in my imagination. Thanks.
Vikilixx Yes! I was wondering that too. It was only when I saw it mentioned on IMDB that I realised I hadn't dreamt it.
wonderful too see this again. Great memories
Went to school with Bruce Watt and that's exactly how I remember him.
Bruce is a friend of mine. He now lives in the Orkney Islands.
Always loved that theme music ! It was relatively easy to play on an organ
Yeah, and I still play it on the organ, from memory after all these years!

Remember watching this
Blast from my childhood. Not sure I approved of them rolling all those missing episodes of TOTPs and Doctor Who down the road at the end though lol
This and Film Fun with Derrick Griffiths; Top kids telly from the past.

Been Trying to find this for YEARS - But does anyone notice the Phone changes Model, to 70's Grey on the Cashiers Desk
Brilliant. Thanks for uploading. Are there any more episodes in existance ?
From the days when you could give someone else's kid a good hiding!!
Good hidings and twisting children's ears off how TV has changed
