everyone who thinks this is harmful in a long way, or this seriously hurts children i want to say something. when i was a kid, i took wishu classes and went to sport summer schools. there we trained flexibility. i speak from experience, i know this stuff, i did not exactly this but similar. if you don't experience pain while you do flexibility training that means you won't progress! pain is a necessary part! and that's totally fine! teachers know what they do, they genuinely know limits between pain necessary for progress and stuff that leaves permanent damage. it hurts while training, yes, but the results are amazing. i quit wushu about 7 years ago and i still can be extremely flexible if i warm up a bit. if you do your training right, results stick with you. and right does not mean not painful. you need to push yourself over your limits to achive great results. remember yourself and how you studied hard for exams. at least some of it was necessary for being good at your job, wasn't it? and it was hard and mentally exhausting and not for everyone. or maybe it was hard for you to find motivation on your own? imagine the same but you study with supervision people who know how to study hard but recover effectively. they make you curriculum for studies, tell you what to eat to recover energy and when to go for a walk to feel good and when to take a break. perhaps it would have been easier that way? trainers are like this, they know when to stop to not hurt yourself and really make progress.
First of all, I really loved your comment!! Second, I had a question. My ballet teacher has been forcing me into my middle splits and I was wondering if I should ask her to continue. Will this actually help me to progress further into my middle splits?
Most people thing this is abuse and I totally agree why would they ever expect children younger than 10 to be this flexible at least don’t force the muscles to go this far! I understand it takes a bunch of training in the process but give it a break! Muscles are a very delicate thing
continuation to my previous comment: even more! the fact that she is vocal is very good because teacher can navigate situation easier! i guarantee to you that teacher does not move past the point of pain much at first - they progress gradually, without sudden jerks (they are harmful for muscles) - so muscle gradually stretches, held always at it's limit but not much more

Have you done full split before in the first place? Even for a person that is flexible, slacking 2 weeks would reduce the muscle flexibility. I can do split now but I didn't stretch to limit sometimes for just 1 or 2 weeks, I can't go full down and would require force to go down. Also I can hold stretch full split for 10s, sometimes 30s without feeling numb or pain, it varies over time. Sometimes I can stay 30 minutes while enjoying TV.

They might rip there hamstring if you force it so don’t force it if they are crying😢
Overextending a child’s muscles can have permanent damage that won’t be noticed at first

Ang sakit man
if you're still not convinced: that's a world of sport. if you want to achieve you have to train. welcome to life!
There are waaay wiser methods for getting a person flexible enough than this. This is nothing but pure abuse
