Honestly I adore season 7, because Micheal Brandon gives a lot of energy and the music is still good. Plus almost every character in the show gets a starring role in an episode.

I choose Season 5, because it some of the BEST original stories, and Alec Baldwin's narration was STELLAR! A REAL shame he dialed it back in season 6! :(

I'm also doing a giant Marathon of the series for a giant review and I think my favourite episode right now is Rusty and the boulder but i'm only on Season 8 and I started in January (So yeah took me a bit of time)

Probably the reasons why he didn’t do Season 6 as well as 5 was probably because his divorce with Kim Basinger And Magic Railroad as a Box Office failure.
In my opinion the only thing he did bad was not giving Donald And Douglas Scottish accents.
I’m confused cuz he did good with a Scottish accent for Duncan.
Season 4 is better
Season 1 is special to me because it's the only Season to contain a full story arc. Since the start of E1 to the end of E26, we get to see Sodor grow a ton with all the characters getting multiple episodes to themselves and interacting, all ending with everyone being much closer
100% agree, season 3 was amazing, I started rewatching thomas a while ago and season 3 was the first series I watched. Its so nostalgic, the stories are excellent, and Angelis's narration is fabulous
I'm only going to talk about the classic series. I never really understood why S6 and Baldwin usually aren't liked by fans. The US narration is beautiul from my perspective, the music is superb and the stories are very warm - especially the winter ones.
It would be impossible to really rank them individually, so I have 3 clusters: My ranking is:
1. The best: S4, S5, S6.
2. Very good: S1, S2.
3. Good: S3, S7.
It's funny how you find S6 to be bad and S3 to be the best. For me it's just the opposite.
I would also add that while I simply dislike Brandon's narration, the 3 episodes on "Thomas & the Jet Engine" US DVD are acceptable because of the amazing original music.

My favourite season of Thomas & Friends is definitely Season 6, because of the visuals, the episodes and the music, Michael Angelis’ narration sounds awesome, it really brings back really nostalgic memories for me since 2007, when I was 3 years old and it even contains my all time favourite Thomas & Friends episode: Thomas the Jet Engine.

the reason Duncan wasn't in BMM or season 16 was because when nitrogen studios when to the Talyllyn railway to measure the engine, douglas (real life name for Duncan) was in maintenance

Why is Tugs Number 5? That’s not even part of the Thomas franchise, it’s made by the same crew yes, but that’s like me putting seasons of Futurama with The Simpsons seasons, not being rude at all, but just a critique. Apart from that, good video.

As Unlucky Tug said, Thomas is the main tool so of coarse he is going to appear in every episode of season 20 and Thomas is one of my favourite characters.
My all-time favorite Thomas season is season 4 because of how many character from the railway series appeared and were adapted for the Thomas & Friends TV Series! 🚂🚃🚃💙
I grew up with Seasons 5 through 16. I actually enjoy all of those seasons that have some really great episodes to me. Plus, I don't mind Michael Brandon or Alec Baldwin's narrations. I grew up with those two, so a bit nostalgia for me.
Edit: By the way, the part at 6:57 definitely sums up how bad All Engines Go is. Mattel absolutely destroyed Thomas and Friends.

@@Error_-ct2vp I was a small kid when Season 9 came out. Lots of nostalgia there. I would have the earlier seasons on CDs and Collectors items. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely prefer the first seven seasons over the modern stuff, but the modern era of Thomas does hold some great childhood memories for me.

Pros: The Case of the Puzzling Parts, An Engine of Many Colours, What Rebecca Does, Hunt the Truck and Seeing is Beilveing are actually good.
Cons: Bouncy Trains, Poor Animation and most importantly, NO MORE EDWARD AND HENRY EPISODES!
23. Season 15
Pros: The Logging Locos weren't really annyoing. Emily and Dash is the best Nitrogen Era episode.
Cons: WONKY WHISTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22. Season 14
Pros: I like Scruff. The song "All you need are friends" was quite catchy.
Cons: The characters were complete IDIOTS!

Pros: Episodes like "Gordon Takes A Shortcut", "James Works It Out" and "Percy and the Bandstand" were quite good
Cons: Most of the episodes were awful, espically "Push Me, Pull You". Most of the characters' faces were so ugly.

Pros: Kinda like the idea of CGI. The characters now having different vocies.

Pros: I kinda like Rosie, Freddie, Rocky and Jeremy. "Thomas and the Shooting Star" is a good episode.

Pros: Kenji and Sonny are quite good characters. It was a decent end for Thomas and Friends.

Pros: It was an improvment over S15. Nice to see the narrow gauge engines being back. Stafford is good.

Pros: The best BWBA season because of the return of Miss Jenny.
Cons: All Tracks Lead To Rome is easily the worst full-length episode. Why does Gina gets so cross easily?

Pros: The start of the Brenner era (the second best era).

Pros: Salty, Harvey, Elizabeth and the pack were really good. The Ghost is also really good.
Cons: Wish that "Middle Engine" never existed.

Pros: The new characters were very good.
Cons: Except Philip, he's quite annyoing. Henry Spots Trouble is the worst Brenner episode.
7. Season 7
Pros: Emily, Arthur, Murdoch, Spencer and Fergus were quite good characters.
Cons: If the episode "The Old Bridge" never existed, this season would be much better.
6. Season 20
Pros: The best CGI season out there. The miniature engines' return was very unexpected.
Cons: The season was way too long. Also why does the episode "Engine of the Future" even exist? I mean c'mon, cant they give Hugo a better debut?
5. Season 4
Pros: The Narrow Gauge Engines' introduction were amazing. Stepney, S.C.Ruffey and Class 40 were also good.
Cons: Passengers and Polish is awful.
4. Season 1
Pros: An amazing start of the franchise. Most of the episodes were amazing.
Cons: Thomas and the Guard and Thomas in Trouble were just bad.
3. Season 2
Pros: The new characters were really good.
Cons: "Dirty Work" and "Percy and the Signal" were kinda weak for me.
2. Season 3
Pros: So many good episodes and characters.

Ok to be honest, when I first discovered thomas, I grew up with the hit and the miller era and I'm nostalgic for it. But I'm still not sure which is my favourite season. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also I advise you not to review a Season 25 or 26 DVD at all as we know it isn’t Thomas, it’s a completely different show

Season 11 is ok, the only bad episode is Don’t Be Silly Billy.
My ranking:
1. Season 5 (many excellent episodes but the newbies are mediocre, the action is great too)
2. Season 4 (first half is better, but that’s probably cuz I’m biased towards the SKR, so many good newbies like stepney, the narrow gauge engines, George which is hilarious because of how much of an asshole he is. It’s just alot of fun and world building)
3. Season 3 (the only season that doesn’t have a mediocre or bad episode in my opinion, the newbies are all good, mavis is good, Oliver and toad are such a great duo and bulgy. Is well, bulgy and it’s writing is stellar just like the two seasons above)
4. Season 2 (great new characters like duck, diesel, boCo, the two twins (bill and Ben, Donald and Douglas), daisy and more. It had great stories like ghost train and edwards exploit, the character arcs with duck vs diesel and which of the Scottish twins will be scrapped, even though the duck vs diesel plotline ends in a kinda lame way in a close shave, mainly because we don’t see how diesel gets kicked off. But other than that, great season!)
5. Season 1 (great story arcs with Thomas and Gordon being frienemies and henry’s whole coal shebang. But the first half kinda drags. Ringo’s narration could have been better, but cmon, it’s the first season)
6. Jack and the pack (great stories, great characters, like jack, Alfie, Oliver, Kelly, max and Monty, Isabella, I can go on forever. What I would have wished tho is that it would have been longer but hey. You get what you can get)
7. Season 7 (definetly overhated. My big problem with season 7 is Brandon’s mediocre narration. Angelis is also mediocre in this season. There are quite some mediocre episodes like season 6, but i’d say that the only bad episode in season 7 is what’s the matter with Henry. Also. The budget is noticeably low too. But besides that it’s a great season)
8. Season 6 (one word, BORING. Jesus Christ did they throw a giant pack of powder on the set while recording this? The set is so gray in season 6 that it’s just unpleasant. It had some pretty bad episodes like middle engine and rusty to the rescue. Also a bunch of mediocre episodes like buffer bother. Alec baldwin is terrible here. But Angelis is as good as he was before here)
9. Season 20 (great season, has alot of great and good episodes, phenomenal writing and great animation and narration)
10. Season 21 (again like season 20. Great season but it also had 2 stinkers of episodes which are philip’s number and a shed for Edward. But besides that great season)
11. Season 19 (had its fair share of good and great episodes. Also had some episodes that sucked but it’s a mostly good season)
12. Season 18 (same as season 19. But Jesus Christ the Samson episodes are garbage)
13. Season 17 (decent season, there were some real stinkers but it’s definetly and improvement over the HIT era seasons and the miller era seasons)
14. Season 11 (bad season, but i do think it was definetly an improvement over the previous 3 seasons, it had quite a few good episodes like hector the horrid, Gordon and the engineer and cool truckings. But boy did it have some bad and terrible episodes)
15. Season 8 (basically a worse version of season 11, despite all its low points it still had good episodes like James gets a new coat, squeak rattle and roll, fish and Halloween. But it had some terrible episodes too. Literally almost everybody in the steam team got derailed, thomas became too nice, Percy became a dumb retarded infant, Toby became an unsure pussy and Emily became a spoiled brat.)
16. Season 9 (basically a worse version of season 8 (the amount of good episodes is noticeably worse and the amount of bad episodes is noticeably larger. More character derailments like all of the skarloey engines except Duncan. And Edward became a blue James sometimes)
17. Season 10 (this season had like 2 good episodes and the 26 others were shit. How lovely. Sir Handel is back with skarloey’s old personality for reason? So yayyyy another derailment how great. Had some terrible episodes of course. Overall a terrible season)
18. Season 12 (one good episode in this pile of shit?! Congrats do you want a medal? HIT era writers? One thing I do like is the return of Oliver, toad, duck and jack. Those returns were pretty good. New characters were kinda bland. I like hank tho. CGI looks ugly and gives me a negative emotional aura (yes that’s a mario 64 refrence lmao)
19. Season 23 (hooray. Basically season 22 but the 2 good episodes in this season are better. Those 2 being free the roads and heart of gold. Overall just a bad season. International episodes suck as always and stupid thomas won’t ever shut up)
20. Season 22 (basically season 23 but with less good episodes, the only good episodes in here are hunt the truck and an engine of many colours, rest is either boring and shit.)
21. Season 24 (wow this season is worse because it only has 1 good episode.. yong bao and the tiger. I guess the great little railway show is kinda mediocre I guess. The rest is shit like usual)
22. Season 16 (wowwww every episode is bad except for 2 and those 2 are mediocre!? Great season guys, here ya go. Get a cookie for great work. In all seriousness this season is so boring and sucks like ur typical miller season.)
23. Season 13 (even worse than season 16. It’s literally only bad episodes. Like bruh. I’m not even talking about writing cuz there’s not writing to admire here. It’s just so fucking shit)
24. Season 14 (hooray. It’s even worse now. Thomas was clearly on a downwards spiral here. Episodes are as bland as they can be. They are all the same. Like cmon.)
25. Season 15 (it had the first not totally bad miller era episode but that doesn’t stop it from being god awful. It’s fucking terrible.)
26. Season 26 (improvement over the previous season. Bruno is a nice new inclusion. Gordon isn’t all bad like usual but the rest of the characters are so insufferable here. This doesn’t even feel like thomas.)
27. Season 25 (basically season 26 but without Bruno. So there’s only Gordon to like here.)

I always loved Season 12 for some reason, and it’s my favorite modern season, probably because of the combination of models and CGI, I always thought it looked good.

Season 8 (in my opinion) is the best season as it brings allot of memories from back in 2004, (Pure Nostalgic that is)
