Very educational. I once had a chance to handle the pipa and was very impressed at the solidity and the ruggedness of the physicality and the construction of the instrument. The thickness and muscularity of the neck was tremendous. For someone used to the guitar, holding the pipa felt like I was now on a stallion, and had been riding a thin-necked stork all along. Thank you Ms. Wu, for bringing this art to the world.
Your video makes me wonder how much of my hybrid thumb pick and finger picking technique on electric bass that I've been developing owes to watching my pipa buddies in high school.
Wow... Wu man, i just got my Chinese Pipa today, and im very excited about it. But i have never played any string instrument before, i didnt know it would be this difficult. But i also dont know if my Pipa sounds correctly, can you maybe make a tutorial on how to make it sound correct? If you make other tutorials i will pay you good money for this. I live in Norway, so there is no teachers here.. :( Please
