Merlin lives in a castle in Wales with his mother. He doesn’t know his father, who is away fighting for the king. Near the castle, there is a forest where Merlin and his mother often go for walks. She teaches him about the different plants that grow there.
One day, Merlin goes to the village near the castle. Two boys follow him, but he doesn’t notice them. Merlin is busy talking to his toad.
