The way I interpreted this is that this isn't an alternate dimension but instead taking place entirely in Beth's mind. Her reflection acting against her and there are cameos from all the things/people who have caused her trauma.
Whitney...I'm not a "Rick & Morty" fan, but this song is AWESOME. You are truly talented...I've seen your other videos, and you put out some great stuff. Congratulations on your successes. Hope to see more great stuff from you in the future.
You’ve never created a song I haven’t liked. This is no exception. It’s wicked funny and so creative in execution. But at the same time, it really it’s home to me. I’ve not experience all those emotions like that before. From happiness at what I’m seeing to the supreme sadness that sometimes plagues my thoughts. Wonderful job and I can’t wait for your next song.
It's nice to see there's at least one universe where beth didn't buy her father's lies and stood up to him because let's be honest, Rick is a terrible person who rarely gets called out on it and punished
I love how the therapist was eating a pickle 😂😂 couldn't help but imagine Rick yelling at her for biting part of him off. Amazing music video!!! The references where great and so was your singing!
Alma Saon while I’ll attest the show isn’t for everyone, it’s the emotional stuff like this that keeps bringing me back. Yeah, it’s silly and stuff. But when it gets real it doesn’t pull punches and hits harder then I’ve ever seen on tv before.
If u don’t watch Rick and Morty then I suggest that u stop watching (even tho the song is amazing) the references will just go over your head and ruin the song
I loved everything. All the details are just stunning, like the sauce poster or the therapist from pickle rick. And your voice is so gorgeous! Keep up the great work.
You know, I find myself coming back to this song at least once every few weeks. This has to make some list for top fanmade songs dedicated to a show. You nailed it. I mean the relationship between the characters conveyed through lyrics, the catchy instrumentals, the easter eggs, the acting and your overall look are all on point. I know they always say not to read the comments on youtube but Whitney, if you see this, please know that your work is appreciated and it's easy to acknowledge that you have a rare gift.
I have this weird reflex. I see Whitney Avalon on TH-cam and I give it a thumbs up. I wish I knew what was wrong with me. Oh, wait....it's not me...it's Whitney's fault for being so talented. Whew. Glad that was solved.
When you think you're a Rick, but you realize that you're a Beth. But, that means you're still a Rick who is not scared enough to admit you're still a Beth.
I'm not sure if there's many Jerry's watching the show. Mortys? Sure, tons, probably. But Jerry has always struck me as the boring, ever so slightly obnoxious, unintelligent person that's just going about their normal day, watching some stupid stuff on TV all evening or having a really boring and/or ever so slightly broken and drifting apart family, basically someone who's pretty much average with just a little touch of uninteresting low-key looser thrown in. Someone who has literally NOTHING interesting in their life and probably likes it that way (or doesn't, it can go either way). Now, I'm not claiming you need to be smart or accomplished or whatever to watch the show, but it does strike me as too outlandish for many Jerry-types to watch it. It's, so too speak, too far outside of the "safe zone" of repetitive television I'd usually ascribe to Jerrys. But that's just my impression of it, I might be totally and utterly wrong.
I never got the hatred for Jerry he's quite a believable character he is a guy whose own wife would divorce him to stay with her father who's every action almost kills the family. Rick is literally the smartest man in the universe and constantly taking shots at Jerry. He takes Morty and Summer out on deadly adventures causes trouble for the entire house, never apologizes but because of his smarts and Beth's dependency he gets away with it all. Jerry is a father and husband who isn't even allowed to feel special and important with his family because Rick is there to ruin it for him. Yes he's an idiot but every time he gets an episode it's mostly dedicated to the fact that he just wants to feel wanted or needed or important. Something that he very rarely gets from his family despite what he does for them. He puts up with Rick He committed a felony so that Beth could do surgery on that deer. He fought and killed bug monsters in the world that rick destroyed, just to find his family and protect them. He's not a great husband or father but he is still pretty good considering the circumstances. As a side note out of everyone on the show Jerry is the most normal person. So the viewers would mostly be 'Jerrys' because despite what people like to think most are normal and uninteresting. Morty is a genius, just weighed down by his emotions and insecurities. Rick and Beth... well they need no description. Summer started off innocent and felt bad when people died but then she herself happily committed murder.
Jerry's not dumb. He's painfully average. Which, youll realize if youre even remotely familiar with statistics, means most people watching the show are Jerrys. Jerrys who want to be Ricks, but theyre not.
Never heard of this person before, and saw this vid in the related vids. I was expecting some slightly cringy vid with 1000000 references a minute, and some meh singing, but holy crap, she is a brilliant singer! and the song was really good! liked, commented, and subscribed!

I didn't knew rick and morty, i like the song without understanding it all, so i wanted to and took 2 days to binge watch all rick and morty series ... now i understand it all, and it's even more awesome ! Amazing work for the subtle and not so subtle referencies ! Had to watch it 3 time to notice the Froopyland door stick in the purse xD
Ok but the fact that I've watched this video like a thousand times and I've now just noticed when Beth says therapys working you can see her therapist from the show nodding and writing things on her note pad. The details in this video is amazing
Please, someone make this to an actual episode where Rick actually has to face with this exact conversation and its consequences, because this is absolutely brilliant and awesome from you !
This is better than most Rick and Morty episodes -- a thorough trouncing of how Rick abuses Beth throughout the series -- a perfect depiction of how people who give into nihilistic philosophies harm the people around them -- and an absolute banger. This could be the smash hit of a massive musical production. It is a complete and total work of art.
Beth always seemed to me like the most realistic and saddest character of R&M and this video really makes her come alive. Well done Whitney! I'm very impressed.
Omg that's so catchy! Please sell this to Dan Harmon & Justin Roiland would TOTALLY love to see a musical episode! GET SCHWIFTY! 🎶🎶🎹🎹🎉🎉😂😂 I love the unstable time detail btw 😉😊😊
This was AMAZING!!! I am almost speechless. The Rick and Morty references were so accurate and your singing is great. Please don't ever stop doing your art. :)
sunnysabrina lolz it would be more interesting if the singing Beth was a clone because she believes that she is not with the later line of "since I'm not a clone..."
Christopher Hammond - cloning takes 3 hrs according to Rick. Watch the clocks there wasn't time to clone her, personal opinion here i know it's not 100% shared but i think she's the real Beth. She took off with the family so she went blade runner which a clone had zero chance of doing (again according to Rick and this could be wrong because he's made mistakes before) however with the clocks visible i think (again just my personal thought) it was a clue to prove she wasn't. - ok i just realized that sound allot like ricksplaining lol..... Still a fun video and still a cool reference to have the other Beth back there....she could even be a Beth from another dimension and we wouldn't know cuz the show is just fun like that keeps us guessing.
Did that shirt say, "my father didn't eat me." And did you see that clone of Beth in the background. I know, I'm supposed to pay attention to Beth and her talking about all her problems, but it's hard not to get distracted by all the easter eggs and the random stuff... Maybe, that's the point of the video. And also I noticed Timmy going back and forth in between different spots and tables.
Watching this again and it’s just an incredible song. This nails Beth and her dynamic with Rick wrapped-up in a genuine hook sprinkled with easter eggs.
My husband and I love you Whitney! Thank you so much you have brought us hours of pleasure XD Seriously though we sang everything we said to the rune of this song for days!
This video popped up on my recommended, and I clicked it just to see what it was. I have to say, my expectations were far exceeded... Between the mildly clickbait title and the mere fact that it's Rick and Morty, I expected it to be mediocre at best; Much to my surprise, no cringe to be found, and I'm about to hit replay and listen to this catchy song again! Even outside of the context of Rick and Morty, and Beth at all, this song does a great job of capturing the essence of smiling through falling totally to bits.
Lola May the show masquerades as a sci-fi comedy cartoon, but is really about the pain we cause to the ones we love by consistently disappointing them, and the effects of that fallout in a very real way.
The saddest thing is Beth isn’t as good at calling Rick out in the show. Excluding a few exceptions, she mostly lets Rick do whatever he wants (ie traumatize and tear apart her family) bc she’s so desperate for his approval.
Yeah, this song basically describes Beth and Rick's relationship to the letter. What makes it worse is, unlike the Beth in this song who stands up to Rick's bullshit, Beth in the show basically let's Rick walk all over her in fear that if she says something to annoy him, he'll leave her again. Take the end of the Unity episode, for a good example. Before she tells Rick that she doesn't want him to keep aliens in the basement anymore, she warns him that she isn't going to use a harsh tone "because I'm scared you'll leave me again".
I remember finding the song when I met an old friend we're still friends and I really connect with her and I miss her a lot and we even still talk it's nice coming back to that memory with this song sadly I have something else connected to it now and it's the fact that I have so much and a turmoil with myself with this song but even then that just makes the song even more valuable to me
I'll catch people up on Rick and Morty. Once upon a time, there was a brilliant scientist who had a family. The scientist discovered how to make portals which can travel to different dimensions. And so, for science, the scientist travelled the multiverse, leaving his daughter behind. The daughter grew up, met a guy in high school, got married and had a daughter. The daughter of the scientist then became a horse surgeon, and had a son as well. Now the scientist came back to the family, but he still wants to science, which means for his travels throughout space a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶, he needs a̶ c̶o̶m̶p̶a̶n̶i̶o̶n̶, his 14 year old grandson. Also there was a time that his experiments went awry, forcing the scientist and the grandson to flee that dimension into an alternate one that's identical. Also that new earth got invaded and temporarily colonized by aliens because the aliens hated the scientist. And also the family got divorced but everyone came together again. The scientist is a drunk nihilistic asshole that while brilliant, leads and unhealthy lifestyle and is convinced that he can avoid consequence or responsibility due to his intelligence. He has lived his lifestyle for so long, that he mentally needs to treat activities as life-or-death adventures than face boredom. The scientists' daughter is also a drunkard, with pent-up anger against the husband for ruining her career path. She also hero-worships her father. The husband of the scientist's daughter is simply pathetic and attempts to garner sympathy from others. The Scientist's granddaughter is about as normal as anyone else in the family is. She's a typical teenage girl, self-conscious and wants to get a boyfriends, etc. The grandson is the unlucky companion to the scientist and is the audience surrogate. He's good-natured and plucky but due to the nature of his grandfather's adventures, even he could snap mentally. And that's the beginner's guide to Rick and Morty! And as for the Szechuan sauce thing - that was actually rather inconsequential to the series as a whole. So is that "wubba-lubba dub dub" thing.
Rick is rather troubled because he has seen infinity that includes places where there is nothing unhealthy about his lifestyle. Still, he chooses to keep his human brain which will always long for some connection. Thus he teaches his family about the infinite possiblitys. His family is teaching him how to feel again.
I'd like to throw out that "Wubba lubba dub dub" is used in at least one language in the show to mean "help me, I am in terrible pain" but is otherwise treated by the main cast as a random catch phrase throughout primarily season 1. And the szechuan thing is referencing a meme gone wrong that proves sometimes a good fandom can't have nice things (for more information, visit your local McDonalds).

The way I interpreted this is that this isn't an alternate dimension but instead taking place entirely in Beth's mind. Her reflection acting against her and there are cameos from all the things/people who have caused her trauma.
Rick: "Oh shit, not the *burp* musical dimension! That's worse than the blender dimension!".
@@hayzecreates6493 that a good point, was the first use of C137 before or after crononburg?

Whitney...I'm not a "Rick & Morty" fan, but this song is AWESOME. You are truly talented...I've seen your other videos, and you put out some great stuff.
Congratulations on your successes. Hope to see more great stuff from you in the future.
Something tells me she's not fine.
Hm, I wonder why you would think that?
I have the same inexplicable feeling
Need a high IQ to understand rick and morty ;)
Definitely Catherine she's fine. Didn't you hear the song
I like to think that in the future beth, morty and summer will have basically turned into rick
Christopher Tyler Meier I agree
I also can't wait for her next song and I subscribed her and hit the bell like icon for any other notification of her beautiful songs.
It's nice to see there's at least one universe where beth didn't buy her father's lies and stood up to him because let's be honest, Rick is a terrible person who rarely gets called out on it and punished
Which is why the therapist is such a badass.
He gets called out a lot in the third season. His family was pretty much getting fed up with him, which is what led to how the season ended.

I love how the therapist was eating a pickle 😂😂 couldn't help but imagine Rick yelling at her for biting part of him off. Amazing music video!!! The references where great and so was your singing!
I don't even like Rick and Morty, but I can't stop playing this song! It's amazing (and reminds me quite a bit of myself)!
Alma Saon while I’ll attest the show isn’t for everyone, it’s the emotional stuff like this that keeps bringing me back. Yeah, it’s silly and stuff. But when it gets real it doesn’t pull punches and hits harder then I’ve ever seen on tv before.

You're fine
After the newest episode, the line "I haven't realized in exactly like you" is so accurate.
When you think you're a Rick, but you realize that you're a Beth. But, that means you're still a Rick who is not scared enough to admit you're still a Beth.
kingstewy God help you if you were a Morty, or worse... a Jerry.
I never got the hatred for Jerry
he's quite a believable character
he is a guy whose own wife would divorce him to stay with her father who's every action almost kills the family.
Rick is literally the smartest man in the universe and constantly taking shots at Jerry. He takes Morty and Summer out on deadly adventures
causes trouble for the entire house, never apologizes but because of his smarts and Beth's dependency he gets away with it all.
He puts up with Rick
He committed a felony so that Beth could do surgery on that deer.
Or worse yet--what if we're all Simple Ricks?
I literally can’t get this song outta my head. People in work are getting annoyed with me singing it
This video made me watch every season of Rick and Morty. So thank you! Watch the video again after watching makes way more sense lol.

I've watched this so many times and just noticed the second Beth in the background. So well done! Thank you Whitney!
Everyone talks about the Easter Eggs and the amazing choreography / camera work, but the simple fact is this song is an absolute banger.
That's exactly what a clone would say
Especially when there is another Beth in the background....
CheshireTiger maybe the one in the back room is the clone
sunnysabrina lolz it would be more interesting if the singing Beth was a clone because she believes that she is not with the later line of "since I'm not a clone..."

Your music is so truthful...love it, love it, love it.
I've had this stuck in my head for DAYS now. The impression is spot on!
Whenever somebody asks me if I'm okay I'll sing this!!!😂
Wow I don‘t know the show at all, but this actually made me really sad 😟
Lola May yeah.. poor beth.. she has it rough in the show
Lola May the show masquerades as a sci-fi comedy cartoon, but is really about the pain we cause to the ones we love by consistently disappointing them, and the effects of that fallout in a very real way.
Rick and Morty
Over 3 years later, listening for the ********th time and it still blows my mind just how much this really SOUNDS like Beth.
I remember finding the song when I met an old friend we're still friends and I really connect with her and I miss her a lot and we even still talk it's nice coming back to that memory with this song sadly I have something else connected to it now and it's the fact that I have so much and a turmoil with myself with this song but even then that just makes the song even more valuable to me
I had been thinking about watching Rick and Morty oN Hulu. This pushed me to it. This is amazing and your voice is beautiful.
Wow this is so well made, I never cease to be impressed by your videos.
So is that "wubba-lubba dub dub" thing.
utubrGaming Thanks for that, was very informative. Seriously.
This would make a great chapter in a Rick and Morty For Dummies book. Lmao
Rick is rather troubled because he has seen infinity that includes places where there is nothing unhealthy about his lifestyle. Still, he chooses to keep his human brain which will always long for some connection. Thus he teaches his family about the infinite possiblitys. His family is teaching him how to feel again.
utubrGaming u
I'd like to throw out that "Wubba lubba dub dub" is used in at least one language in the show to mean "help me, I am in terrible pain" but is otherwise treated by the main cast as a random catch phrase throughout primarily season 1.
And the szechuan thing is referencing a meme gone wrong that proves sometimes a good fandom can't have nice things (for more information, visit your local McDonalds).
