There was a Post Credit scene that was cut from the movie. I've seen this movie a hundred times since I was a kid and always loved it and watch it every Christmas. Well a few days ago I was seeing it for the first time this year. My mother passed away this past summer and this is my first Christmas without her. The previous two years I lost my father and both my grandmothers as well so this will be the first Christmas where we won't even "have Christmas" somewhere. When Kevin goes to Santa and says instead of presents he just wants his family back I completely lost it. I've never once even thought about crying during this movie, but I blubbered and bawled the entire rest of the movie. Don't take those people you love for granted, they won't be there forever.
I’m so excited that all of you got together to watch Home Alone. I’m very excited to see you all react to the sequel! Merry Christmas Magy, Trixy and Laura!
This movie is a classic with so many memorable scenes. The tarantula scene makes me laugh no matter how many times I have seen it because that’s exactly how I would act if you put one on my face and knowing that is was a real spider according to Daniel Stern and that was a real scream makes it even funnier. The ending scene with Kevin looking out of his window at old man Marley with his son and family makes me tear up every time.
It was a real spider, but the scream was ADR; they couldn't risk scarring the spider in real time because Daniel Stern's term for the scene was that they only got one take.
The dramatic hand slap on the glass counter is one of the nuances that makes John Hughes a legend! At least a dozen of his movies are CLASSICS and timeless! Movies such as "Home Alone", "Breakfast Club", "Planes, Trains & Automobiles", "Uncle Buck", "Vacation", "Sixteen Candles", and "Weird Science" are just some of the great movies he has written and/or directed and/or produced.
@@nsasupporter7557 Probably, but I'm pretty sure he was done with Hollywood at that point. The only reason he still made movies was to earn a living. This is what I read somewhere, but it could have been a rumor. Still though, from 1983 to 1990 he made so many great and memorable movies. No matter who you were or what country or culture you were from you could relate and be entertained by them. Even after 1990, he made a few "good" movies. One movie I thought was very underrated was Beethoven, which actually gets very good reviews from the public. P.S. My personal favorite is Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. I think John Candy was always willing to work with John Hughes because he knew the genius and passion Hughes had for his writing, directing, and producing movies. Remember, John Candy literally made "scale" for his role in Home Alone (less then $500) and I have to belive he did it not only as a favor to Hughes, but also knew that John's movies are always fun to work on and almost always high quality & entertaining (at the time).
@@nsasupporter7557 yes, very sad. He had such a warm, positive, and hilarious presence on screen. I've never, ever, heard anyone from Hollywood or anywhere else every say one single negative thing about him. IMHO, he was a national treasure and I feel lucky to have grown up watching him and him always making me laugh and feel really good inside.
Daniel Stern Who Played Marv was wearing rubber feet. So no feet were harmed in the making of this film. The ornaments on the floor near the Christmas tree were made from candy not glass.

Hey, Magy, Blue and Laura. I really love this movie a lot. I thought it was very entertaining. Kevin, sometimes didn't like his family, but sometimes he does misses them.
