I really enjoyed seeing the outside of the marketplace. 😊 I use net bags for my vegetables and fruits. And the store here where you can buy in bulk sells containers of different sizes that are already weighted, and you can reuse them each time you go to the store. Maybe they offer that at your store?! I also reuse the plastic containers from the spread (or others). Either to store leftovers or I decorate them and use them as storage. But I do sometimes need to recycle some. Thanks for taking us shopping! Take care!
@@LivingLifewithJudith Wow that's awesome Judith, go you! You definitely edge on the side of being a zero waster! 😀👏 We do have one bin store but it's not really zero waste as the nuts etc would have come in plastic (I guess that's the case in most places). I do like that they have soft plastic recycling bins (do you have that option in Canada too?) but half of it won't get recycled because many don't clean the plastic like they should. The less we buy it the more the world will change. Who knows, maybe the more that people see these types of videos the more they will be inspired to give it a go 🤞 Wishful thinking probably, the world is addicted to processed convenience food (I have been too for that matter!) but seeing a documentary about zero wasters helping a family reduce their plastic last week inspired me - it's what gave me the idea to make oat milk 😀 I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Hope it wasn't too preachy 😂 I'm glad I kept the store shot (I assume you read my community post 😉) Thanks for watching! Take care and by for now! PS I will watch another one of your videos soon! 😊
@@clairemcheskin Street markets are great! They had them in Wellington (Capital of NZ) where I used to live. We do have the Farmers Market here, from memory it isn't as affordable, but I must go back! That's beautiful that you grow your own veggies! I hope to do the same one day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! PS Is everything really packaged in your supermarkets? That's shocking! Good on you for finding alternative solutions! 🙂
Supermarkets used to have coffee bean grinders you’d empty your packet into em turn on the grinder into the pack and go Haven’t seen these automatic grinders in shops for years I wonder why they no longer there?
@@weissichnichtbre Yeah I remember that! Was hoping that would still be the case at New World but probably not 😄 People probably made a mess of it which is pricy. Speaking of coffee. I'm about to get out of bed now. Was looking forward to a cuppa 🙁 Tea it is. I'll survive lol. A break will do me good! But that's one item I think I will keep buying. I could switch to plastic tub coffee like Moconna - or is it glass? Even better if so. Note - I just Googled it and it can be recycled yay! So that will be my remedy for this month but I think I'll switch back to real coffee after.
Ironic the no plastic goods products was stalled by you not having your plastic to pay for it!!! Good on you Why not just use avocado as the spread instead of the olive spread
@@weissichnichtbre That's true, avocado probably has enough oil in it as it is but I wouldn'f use it under other products if that's what you mean? @LivingLifeWithJudith gave me the good idea of holding on to the containers. I may get a few of the large ones over time and re-use the containers to freeze my veggies 🙂
