    I dont know about now, but not that long ago, a 2014 Camaro was 18k brand new. Sure, it was just a V6, but 323 hp was enough to get you in trouble lol. And seriously, I still smile driving it.
    Thats not to say I wouldnt give a lung (or other body part...the left one) for a Z28 IROC-Z with Crager louvres...Hey, I still have aluminum black louvers on my 2014. Now if they only made Radial TAs with white letters in 19 inch...I would be happy.
    Awesome vid. Put a smile on my face!

    Thanks for sharing this. They made some good ads through the decades and at times actually cared about promoting the cars

    Honestly for modern cars I’ve been a challenger fan but after watching these it hyped me up like crazy for the camaro

    Do not forget that there were 1967 and 1968 Camaro Z28s ( though they are RARE!).602 1967 s and just under 7200 of the 68s. Funny part, some of those made had the rally sport option!.

    8:33 "..our car featured the standard V8 engine with 350 cubic inches and 145 horsepower..."
    Wow... putting out about the same horsepower as a modern day 2.0 liter 4 cylinder! Emissions really choked these engines! (1974 Camaro)

      @anonuser5852 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo Lo Today’s base model Camaro makes what...280? Something like that. It’s a 2 liter 4 cyl. The V6 makes well over 300 horses now, and the V8 is knocking on the door of 500.

      Yes, emissions mandates killed the muscle cars in the 70's. Right up to the mid-80's GM's "perfomance" V-8 was a 165hp 305. I bought a 1984 Trans Am that had the new 190hp HO option for that year. Still a dog by todays standards but you were happy just to get that. These gen 4 cars are head and shoulders better in performance and styling. I have a 95 Z28 in bright red, leather and t- tops. Owned and garaged for over 17 years. Happy to see that these cars are finally getting the respect they deserve and going up in value.
      Mine isn't for sale unless I was offered mad money.

    1998 We were all Hells Angels in this video. The producers tried to rip us off. They paid big time and we got our money. I was a principal actor and made 60g. For that :)

    Crazy how in 95 you could get a camaro for $15,000 fast forward 15 years later to 2010 where they cost $45,000 to $60,000 for the SS tripling & even quadrupling in cost within the course of 15 years.

    There were 'special' Camaros in the 60's, too. I had a friend that had a '69 RS/SS with a VERY RARE Chevy 302 engine. The car was actually badged with 'RS/SS', had the hideaway headlights like a '67, and that 302 was probably one of the most-amazing 'small mouse motors' that Chevrolet ever made...to have made it for only 3-years, just to consume 283 and 327 parts they had left over!

    That "1997" commercial was a 1996. The gauge cluster is the LT1 style, not the LS1 style like the 1997 would be.

    1996 Z28 top of the line for that year and it had less than 300 horsepower. God cars from the 90's were junk compared to now. You can get a 4 cylinder non turbo with the same horsepower now if not more.

    • @CodenameOliver101
      @CodenameOliver101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Example? Plus those z28s are only like 3k now you’ll probably pay a lot more for a new car
